My friends and I stayed at the The Atlantic Beach Hotel over the new years period, whilst other places in Cape Town were absolutely over-crowded Melkbosstrand offered us a piece of tranquility. The hotel was quaint, beautiful, very relaxing and the staff attended to all our needs with a high level of service. There is a specific staff member Abigail who was absolutely oustanding in her customer service, work ethic and values. My friends and I having frequented many foreign countries and have stayed in many chain hotels, however Abigail's service was better than many staff which we had encountered overseas. The hotel is also close to Durbanville and Stellenbosch and is a good breakaway from the mass populated parts of Cape Town such as Camps Bay, V and A Waterfront, etc. We will defnitely be staying at this hotel again!

We stayed in the Atlantic Beach hotel for our wedding anniversary break-away and was once again surprised by the quiet and relaxed atmosphere of this boutique hotel close to Melkbosstrand beach. The hotel has 38 rooms, which means that the hotel never feels crowded. The rooms are modern and spacious and is tastefully furnished. Our bed was as good as our one at home and we slept well. The breakfast is a continental breakfast and although the options were limited, it was very filling and we never felt hungry afterwards. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We also used the restaurant for some of our dinners (see separate review of Belon restaurant) and enjoyed it thoroughly. Atlantic Beach could easily become our home away from home...

I stayed at Atlantic Beach hotel recently fora conference, and while the rooms are stunning - roomy, comfortable and clean, I found the staff to be completely disinterested in providing any kind of service. Upon arrival, I had to go looking for someone in the hotel to check me in - said little lady did not seem very pleased at the prospect. My colleague arrived at 23:00 to be told they had no booking for her, after 15 minutes of deliberation she managed to get them to look for (and find) a room for her. The food is fantastic, one of the few places that knows how to cook a steak medium - rare. Just check if they happen to have everything on their menu. before you order, else you may be surprised by a 'mango and Cape Velvet' sauce instead of the simple 'Cheese' sauce you asked for. They like surprised here. Generally clean, although they forgot to clean the rooms one day, nearly caught me mid-dress when they came barging into my room one evening (without knocking) when they did want to clean the room. Security seemed great, hotel is a block away from the beach (lovely for a walk, and safe). Has an OK supermarket within walking distance, so no need for a car. Overall lovely place, stunning, the staff just need to somehow stop being so damn miserable about them having to be at work. Oh, and for someone planning a conference, they have no form of IT support - so if any of the gadgets or projectors don't work, you are on your own.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the ocean side, has a little balcony type window that looks out over a few houses, but you get a much better view of the ocean.

Stayed here for three weeks on a business trip. Fantastic rooms, was with colleague and both had lovely rooms. Rooms were huge, clean, nicely styled and very comfortable. Staff were very good and did their best to accommodate all of our requests, which were many over three weeks!! Restaurant was good with some excellent choices and staff and cook very friendly and helpful. Only major downside is infuriating wi-fi that drops every ten minutes or so on a regular basis, maddening if you are skyping or working on-line, only reason not 5 star.

Room Tip: Sea view best on second floor, we had 201 and 219, best in the house

Ok hotel with absolutely nothing mentionable. Breakfast was a bit off and carpets were a bit dirty. I agree with the reviewer who called their service "hit or miss". A little extra effort improve this hotel tremendously.
