“Brilliant hotel....can't fault it!”
Reviewed 22 August 2013

Just returned after 2 week stay (2adults and 2 kids 10 + 13) and absolutely loved it here! Beautiful location 10 minutes walk into Portinatx which is a stunning place.

Food lovely, varied and freshly cooked in front of you (meat/fish in one counter and pasta on another) as well as some themed nights. Lovely clean restaurant with relaxed atmosphere. Drinks- usual AI selection with self-service at pool bar for soft drinks, water and in restaurant wine, beer soft drinks etc. Pool snack bar served continental breakfast from 10.15am if you didn't want an early start then snacks (hot dogs, burgers, salad, chips etc) til 6. Also had ice-cream tubs and fruit.

Entertainment team were brill-daytime activities we tried were kayaks, zumba (once!) pistol shooting and table tennis. There was also quite a few other things on offer- aqua gym, darts, archery, football, boules, etc. There was no pressure to join in but they catered for teenagers, adults and also had a kids club twice a day for 2 hours if you wanted it. Night time entertainment consisted of usual mini-disco, bingo and show by the team (starting about 10.15pm). Mainly consisted of dancing/sketches but was entertaining, v professionally done and all members of the team were so hardworking and enthusiastic.

Rooms- clean and basic with v good air-con. Cleaned daily to a good standard. We slept well and found it comfortable.

Beach at bottom of hotel good for kayaking (open up to 4 hours per day 10-12 then 3-5pm). There were jelly fish when we were there and at main 2 beaches but hit and miss as to how many. Views were stunning from hotel's beach bar which opened a few hours a day.

Pool - there were 2 pools and we used the main one. No issues with getting sunbeds whilst we were there.

Overall would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return.

We stayed here in August 2010 and decided to return as we all enjoyed our stay first time round, myself, husband and kids now aged 15 and 16. We found it pretty much the same, with the addition of the pasta bar in the restaurant.

It's a very pleasant atmosphere with mainly families, with more younger than older kids. There were activities if you wanted, hubby and son did darts, rifle shooting etc, and also did the mountain biking this time as well (rather them than me as it was roasting hot), but they enjoyed their trek to the lighthouse.

The rooms are basic but a good size and most importantly clean and have air con. The pool gets very crowded but that's to be expected at this time of year. The sunbed situation is a bit painful as the beds do all go very early so you do need to get up and reserve them if you are planning a day by the pool.

Plenty of food available, there is a good variety both in the restaurant and snack bar. Drinks are local brands and while not the best quality are okay.

The hotel is in a lovely position with views over the bays and hilltops. There are plenty of steps at the complex and the walk into the town is uphill on the way back so you will work off some of the calories! Portinatx is a lovely small but busy town with some nice bars if you fancy a change from the hotel at night. We went in a couple of evenings and spent a couple of days at the towns beaches which are very nice too. We also went into Ibiza town one evening which was very lively and had a good atmosphere.

The entertainment team work hard and while the shows may not be to everyone's taste, they are quite a good standard for a hotel of this kind. Although the mini disco was a bit repetitive every night, but that may be because we have teenagers rather than younger kids.

All in all, it was what we expected and we very much enjoyed our holiday there.

A beautiful location, lovely food, great entertainment staff! Disappointed that the hotel would not provide lunch boxes for people booked on day trips, other hotels provided picnic boxes for their guests.

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Club Hotel Portinatx and have had a fantastic holiday!! Slightly wary due to a few reviews on here, but all are completely without substance.

Where to start? The view - breathtaking!! Food - superb!! There is literally something for everyone available in the restaurant - fresh pasta being cooked every lunch time and evening and of excellent quality! The other fresh grill always has fish/meat available and of course a fantastic salad selection. The speciality evenings were amazing too - parma ham/cold meats/cheeses and flambayed fruits - superb!!! Other nights were hog roasted pork/ribs/beef joints - they really cannot put a better selection out to cater for all tastes and nationalities!

The Animation Team work tirelessly - around all day doing activities with the guests and every evening putting on a show! What an amazing team of people they are - full credit to each and every one of them!

The rooms although basic are kept clean - for the ££ paid, can't really ask much more.

Our Children (14 & 12) loved every second of their holiday too - so much to do from the minute they got up until they went to bed.

First time to Ibiza and will definately be returning!! Would most certainly recommend this hotel to families who want the best of an All Inclusive without overstretching the budget!

Hippy Market is really worth a visit - very different wares being sold and a great experience!

Thanks to all at Club Hotel Portinatx!!!

Just got back from 2 weeks at this hotel.
Wow!
The room we had was clean, but basic. It suited us as we only used it to get changed and sleep. I don't see the point of going on holiday and sitting in a hotel room. Lifes too short.
Our room was just behind the entertainment area, but we never had any noise issues. The Animation team only seemed to use the stage area during the day as a meeting area for excursions or to practice for the evening entertainment. The shows in the evening were fantastic, my personal favourites were Oliver and the Disney Show.

The animation team were a bit of a surprise for me. At most hotels of this type they are very much "in your face". Not here. They still ask if you want to do the activities, but if you say no they will take it and move on without any hassle. If you decide to do one of the activities and are lucky enough to win, you get awarded with a certificate at the beginning of the evening entertainment.
We did the Kayak excursion with Jarrick. It took about 2 hours and was really good fun.

A lot of people have already mentioned the steps. Yes there are a lot, but i'm sure they are only there to help burn off the extra calories you put on by eating in the restaurant. The food is plentiful and varied, the best nights (or worst if you're on a diet!) were Thursday, when they have a themed night. Way too much choice!!

The hotel has it's own beach which is accessible by steps! There is a beach bar, although it is only open for short periods during the day. You can also take advantage of the Kayaks and windsurfers as part of the all inclusive. The sea is lovely and clean and safe for the kids to paddle/swim in. Although like most of Ibiza it is prone to Jelly fish.

We were there at the height of the summer break and still managed to get decent sunbeds by the main pool. The hotel staff don't let you reserve beds before 8am so no point in setting your alarm to put the towels out! There are 2 other smaller pools, 1 of which seemed to be exclusively for the younger children in the kids club.

As with most all inclusive hotels, the alcohol is not as strong as you get in the local bars, but it is plentiful and the bar staff are friendly. The "2 drinks per person" rule doesn't seem to apply very much. In the evening our group which usually consisted of 10 - 14 people were usually served the whole round to one person and towards the end of the holiday, we didn't even have to order it, the bar staff would start getting the drinks ready when they saw us. Most impressive!

Portinatx itself is about a 10 - 15 minute walk (depending on whether you were going or coming back) down a hill, no steps, just a gradient. It is a nice little village with a few bars and restaurants. Because it was my partners birthday while we were there we decided to eat out at the restaurant (the one with the blue railings) that can be seen from the hotel beach. We enjoyed the meal so much we went back 2 nights later with some of the friends we had met and had a really good time. The food was excellent and although not cheap,(due to the poor exchange rate) it was value for money.great A big plus point to this particular restaurant was the crazy golf course, which the kids used after we had eaten free of charge.
On Sunday evening there is a small Gypsy market near the Hotel Greco, worth a look if that's your thing.

The only negative thing we found with the hotel was getting into the main pool. The slope is quite steep and can catch you out. Quite a few people slipped getting in. There is a rail to hold onto, but a step (yes another one!) or altering the angle of the slope would be better. Maybe something for the hotel to consider.

Would we recommend this hotel? YES!
Would we go back? If we were the type of people to go to the same hotel every year. Yes! Without a doubt. It was a fantastic hotel, in a beautiful location. We loved our 2 weeks in Ibiza

Have just got back this morning from a week in Ibiza. Me and my wife and 2 kids (15 and 11).
This is a great hotel recommended by friends who visited last year.
The room was a bit basic but clean and tidy. No noise from neighbours or people walking past.

Food was varied and good quality - trouble is there was too much and my diet's been blown away!!

Nice pools, top one a bit busy but still found sunbeds when we wanted to. Lovely little beach at the bottom of the steps, fantastic snorkelling followed by a beer or two at the beach bar.

Entertainment was really good fun. It did feel a bit like a family run campsite that we used to visit in Cornwall (although the 32degrees and sunshine was an improvement).
short walk into the village didn't really inspire us to eat out as the hotel was so good.

We would definitely go again.
