“Club hotel portinax”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013

We stayed at this hotel recently for 1 week all inclusive. It is definitely one of the best hotels in all of Portinax as we saw them all during our 1 week stay as its not a huge resort.
The main downfall is that it's a 15 minute walk from the beach and restaurants and we had a baby so this was quite a trek with lots of steps for the buggy to navigate which was hard.
The rooms are lovely and clean and fresh towels are left each day if you wish. You can hear the evening entertainment from your room until about midnight so don't expect quiet until then. The staff are helpful and some could maybe smile a little more.
The restaurant food was varied to cater for all tastes and nationalities. However we did notice that some food was recycled and re-heated the next day, which led to my partner getting poisoned off the mussels in the paella! Also the restaurant was located on the first floor with no lift, so prams and people with mobility issues really struggled.
The hotel beach/cove isn't very big and there were lots of jellyfish and steps down to it, so we walked down to the two other beaches most days (S'Arenal grand and S'Arenal petit beaches). The sea is crystal clear and beautiful for snorkelling.
We must recommend Zulu Restaurant overlooking the sea it serves lovely fresh food and great drinks.
The entertainment team at the hotel offer a varied programme of activities for kids and adults day and night. There was a show on each night like Moulin Rouge, Grease, Movie themes etc, however there was never enough chairs for all guests to sit outside and watch.
The large swimming pool was beautiful and beds and mattresses were provided but get there early to avoid disappointment.
If you don't have children to care for you can upgrade to the superior rooms on the roof terrace with a hot tub for an extra €20 per night per person which is good value.
Overall an enjoyable stay but a bit out of the way of the main resort of Portinax.

back today from club portinatx in Ibiza, hotel is lovely, rooms fairly basic, but we paid for an upgrade for a sea view room and it was worth every penny, food was lovely lots of choice and something for everyone, entertainment was brilliant, the team worked so hard to put on a different show every night, the only downside is the amount of steps down to the beach and around the hotel not good if you have trouble walking, but on the whole a great place

Room Tip: rooms with a sea view are 1-11 you have to pay extra but it is worth it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The position is great with a lovely private beach, only a few minutes walk to the resort centre. There was plenty to do with a great animation team who worked hard to make everybody's holiday special. All the staff were wonderful and the restaurant fantastic. The food was by far the best we have had on an all inclusive holiday. Rooms were comfortable and spotless. We would love to return.

If your a child you'll be in a magical place most of the time, each evening disco and entertainment starts, going on 'the holiday express' lots of other dances and the hokey cokey, and lots going on the day time if wanted. For the adults again lots to do from darts rifle/pistol shooting archery boules and the list goes on. In the evening Bingo, which our party (julie h group) won nearly every evening such fun, then came the shows a different one each night all performed by the inhouse entertainment team, absolutely brilliant, so much effort and professionalism, a definite pat on the back to them all. The range of food offered was outstanding, looked forward to every meal, the chefs and all the staff were top notch, this restaurant would fit into any top hotel. Must compliment the cleaners, our rooms were cleaned everyday to a high standard.Just a precautionary note, take care entering the main pool as this is sloping and can be slippery. All in all a fantastic holiday

We stayed here at the end of August and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A very family orientated resort with a beautiful little private beach, 3 pools, pretty grounds, and plenty of entertainment and activities for all ages.

The restaurant was one of the best All inclusive restaurants that I have ever eaten at, spotlessly clean, bright & airy inside, well presented with 2 hot buffet areas to keep queues down, along with an ever changing daily menu.

I would highly recommend this place to families. Less than an hours transfer from the airport, and with a really friendly and welcoming animation team.

Hi to all , if you want a fantastic fun holiday with wonderful food and drink ,and a fantastic entertainment team this is the place to go. You read lots of reviews before and after you book and because i was booking for a party of 15 from the ages 2 - 70 , I was a little bit stressed that it wouldn't be as good as i had hoped, but from the minute we arrived (in the middle of the night) the service was really excellent . Our rooms were close together as id requested and not to close to the pool ( as requested ) Our rooms were cleaned and kept spotless every day and all the grounds were cleaned daily .The restaurant quality food was terrific , there was a really good choice of food from full English to continental to most things you could think off. Lunch and dinner could be as simple or as elaborate as you want . The chefs cooked in front of you at every meal from fish to meat and poultry to pasta and pizza and each week a show demonstration ,my last night fresh prawns and wonderful breads and Caribbean fruits and always a fresh salad bar (not just lettuce and tomatoes) , at all times juices ,soft drinks wine and beer available . From the waiting staff to the chefs were all very professional , if you didn't want to eat in restaurant every meal the snack bar was good ,and the bar was well equipped and measures were good , they also do chocolate milk and slushy,s every day. The entertainment team need a special mention , they had something for everyone ,from the clubs for all ages to the evening shows , they couldn't have worked any harder and were lovely to everyone and without them all it would still have been a good holiday but with them all it was terrific they made the holiday ,there shows were excellent some of the game shows were funny some were not my cup off tea ( but were not all English) and they have to suit all nationalities , they made sure all the children joined in the disco and included the adults in there performances .The only thing to be aware of is that the pool has slopping edges and can be slippery and there are many steps at the complex .

Our first holiday abroad without the children and we loved every aspect of it from start to finish.

Arrived at 4 o'clock in the morning. Lovely chap on reception was very helpful, and friendly, although when showing us to our room, he trotted off quite quickly, leaving us to negotiate driving our suitcases up and down the steps and round the corners in the dark, trying and failing badly to keep up with him. Still gave us a bit of a giggle!

This hotel was perfect.

We loved our room! Others seem to have been quite negative in their reviews of their rooms but we honestly couldn't find a single thing wrong with ours. We had a view of the sea, spotlessly clean and cleaned daily. Comfy beds, plenty of space, light, airy, air conditioning worked well, plus a huge ceiling fan, safe just what we needed. Hired a kettle, took my english Typhoo lol! Lovely balcony, I so loved chilling here in the evenings while the other half was snoozing.

The food was EXCELLENT! We loved mealtimes. The restaurant was spot on, excellent food, very pleasant staff, tons of choice, spotlessly clean. you could go back as many times as you wished for refills. The snack bar was faultless too. Very yummy!

All the staff were so lovely, friendly, helpful and pleasant. Special thanks go to, Sara the waitress and the lovely cleaning ladies. I have never been to such a well-cleaned hotel before. No problems with ants although they could be seen on evenings winding their way down the steps. Lots and lots of geckos which were a joy to watch.

We did the trip into Portinatx albeit with some trepidation the first time, as I have mobility issues and after reading some reviews, we were rather worried that I wouldn't be able to manage it. Rubbish! It was a nice stroll there and back and we did it many times over the course of the week. Portinatx is a really lovely place, lots to see, do and eat! Nice English bar with English cider! Plenty of small shops for the obligatory presents for the family, although the shop in the Hotel was actually much cheaper!

We found the buses from Portinatx a real treat, very comfy and cool and we had a lovely day in Eivissa. This was a treat and I really can recommend it. So much to see, I fell in love with this town.

The pools are excellent. We preferred the grown-ups pool, obviously as we were, for once, childless! The beach was excellent. Plenty to do although I was too busy sunbathing to join the other half kayaking, snorkelling, swimming etc...but he had lots of fun!

As I mentioned earlier, I have mobility issues, having had major hip replacement and arthritis but the steps didn't really pose any problems for me. They were designed well amd were clearly marked. Plenty of handrails were in position to help.

The only negative comment I can make about our holiday was the amount of rubbish left lying around the poolsides at the end of every day. It was such a shame to see this, given that there are litter bins everywhere. The pools were cleaned every night but I couldn't believe that some people were too lazy to put their rubbbish in the bins and simply left it for the staff to clear.

On our last night we spoke to the manager as we wished to let him know what a fantastic week we'd had. What a lovely man, credit to him and to all his staff for an absolutely fantastic and memorable holiday. We can't wait to return.
