I like going to Sangria's. When I'm in town, I may go once a week. I like to try their food while indulging in a beer or wine. But the food, tho seemingly of Mexican extraction has an Arabic coating to it. Tamales are not the ones we know made of corn in corn husks. I love tamales but these are a deep fried crust of some sort. I had to try them, but will not get them again as I love the original. Nachos are the same, not of the Mexican variety, but of the Arab-Mexican rendition. This is the case of with all such ethnic restaurants here. Chinese? Uh, you will get allspice, the secret ingredient in Arabic foods as the main taste. So I prefer fusion foods and don't really mind the renditions, but for those who want authentic ethnic? You won't get it in Ramallah. And still I haven't tried a sangria at Sangria's! Next time!
