Just got back from 2 weeks at the Coral Mist Beach Hotel. My wife and I both agree it was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had.
Our first impression as we pulled up outside the hotel was that it looked rather dated, and we started to get nervous. We needn't have worried because when we got to our ground floor apartment it was lovely. Like the rest of the hotel it was showing it's age a little, but it was spotlessly clean, and had a well equipped kitchen, nice sized lounge, and bedroom with en suite bathroom.
The best part was the patio, right on the beach. We did a little sightseeing, and I did a little diving, but the majority of the holiday was spent relaxing on the beach, and swimming in the warm (27C) water!

As stated by others the hotel was very quiet, the bar and restaurant were hardly used, and the only sound at night was the waves crashing on the beach, which I found very relaxing.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly, and we made some real friends with a few (big hello to Paul, Shawn, Antonio, Joseph, and Denise), who made our holiday a real treat.

I took some aerial video of the hotel and beach with an C/C helicopter which you can see here:

All together a very nice experience!

Room Tip: Ground floor room a108 is a nice apartment opening onto the beach, next to the restaurant, and gets...

All I can say is extremely helpful and friendly staff, fantastic location and decent rooms.

When we arrived we was greeted and explained where everything was etc our room was a studio room as reviews below simple clean and great view from the balcony. The kitchen was great everything you could need is there. Our bathroom had no issues, we did use the tv and radio both where fine.

We ate at the hotel a few times for lunch/breakfast/dinner food was great and cooked well.

Location wise you cannot go wrong you've got the gap not far away and a nice bar virtually opposite that does great cocktails!

Although the beaches are public there was no issues and kept clean. The pool area was small but enough as most people use the beach area.

I would 100% recommend this hotel and in fact looking to stay again ASAP!!!

As previously stated not the most modern hotel but there was everything in your room that you could possible need, including hairdryer, fridge, microwave and cooker. We stayed on the ground floor next to the restaurant. There was never anyone in the restaurant at night so there was no noise. Opening your door there was the most gorgeous view leading right onto beach. Only disappointing thing was the sea was too rough to swim. Eazy to walk into St Lawrence Gap which has more nightlife. Just across the road is Mojos who do nice food and it is a lively bar.

Coral Mist must be the only hotel that looks better in reality than it does on the photos.

The main benefit of the hotel is the fact that it's right on the beach. We were given room B302 which was in the second floor (the ground floor is called 1, the American way). The view was partially blocked by the building in front BUT the balcony was protruding so you had unobstructed view to the west (which is a very nice view). Having breakfast on the balcony is an amazing experience. Even if you don't plan on self catering, you have to have breakfast there at least once. Which brings me to the next point.

The kitchen is fully equipped to meet all your needs if you choose to prepare your own food. The only things you'll need are salt/pepper and oil/butter if you want to fry. You'll also need washing up liquid. You can get all the above at the supermarket nearby for 5 BBD. There is also a big fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee machine (you also need coffee).

The hotel's location is perfect as you are within walking distance of two supermarkets and several good places to eat. Mojo, which is just opposite the hotel is worth noting. Its burgers are unreal! Also the cocktails are hearty and quite strong. Tiki bar on the left is also a nice place to spend some evenings. Ask for the 2 for 1 cocktails on Wednesdays. St Lawrence Gap is also nearby. You can drive there and park for free along the road. You can also get a taxi but don't forget to negotiate. Prices started at around 20 BBD but we managed to get it for 10. Walking is also possible, but it takes about 15mins. Oistins with the fish fry is around 5km away.

Rooms are always squeaky clean and the staff is very friendly as well. Honestly I can't find any faults with the hotel and considering the price we paid I would agree with most reviewers that this is a gem. OK, decoration is a bit dated, but we had no problem with it. Noise was also not a problem when we shut the bathroom door. After all we always slept with the balcony door open listening to the waves. Amazing!

Our second stay here and been visiting for six years, a lot of frequent visitors so that speaks volumes, great base on the island like others have said. Great tv if that's your thing, barbados doesn't have to be expensive, went to carlise beach and had 4 beers for 10 bbs. About £3, 75p each , bargain. Won't repeat all the reviews about rooms, but it may sound petty but bring your own pillows as hotels are terrible, you'll know what I mean at the end of your stay:) , will book for another visit next May, great staff, great hotel, great people , great island, don't moan about things at the price you pay. Simple:) tony and Julie portsmouth uk

We stayed at Coral Mist over the Easter period for 1 week. The hotel was recommended to me by an acquaintance in Barbados because of it's proximity to amenities and the beautiful beach location. He was right. Supermarkets, petrol stations, shops at the Quayside Centre/stalls near to Accra beach are all minutes away. The Supercentre and Trimart are both excellent to stock up on groceries.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful lady called Tamika. We were given room B307 which is a 2 bedroom apartment. It was spacious and clean, but the bathrooms were a disappointment. The loos looked like they could do with some strong bleach and the shower curtains looked old. It was clean however.

The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, pots and pans. There was a coffee maker (which you can use to boil water), a toaster and a microwave. We noticed there was no washing up liquid, salt and pepper for the morning so we went out to buy this. The pillows in the bedroom were really lumpy but we got used to that after a few days! The TV remote did not work and some of the channels were fuzzy so we did not end up using it. The free wifi in the rooms made up for it somewhat.

The view from the balcony and master bedroom was amazing. The beach/pool area was beautiful and clean (thanks to staff member Roger who we saw cleaning up every morning). The waves were quite strong during the time we were there but that meant my boys (Ages 14 and 11) could enjoy the great boogie boards which were provided by the hotel. The pool area is small but nice. Sometimes we were the only ones using it.

I know people have mentioned noise levels in previous reviews. The road noise did not bother us but I found the ocean kept me up at times. Take earplugs if you are a light sleeper!

Overall, Coral Mist is in an excellent location, the rooms are clean and spacious, the staff are helpful and friendly and the views of the ocean are superb. We loved the fact it was at the far end of Worthing beach which made it feel more private. We would definitely stay here again. I hope management will update the rooms - new pillows, shower curtains, fixtures and fittings and maybe more modern curtains/bedding is all that is required to freshen it up and make it even more comfortable.

I cannot wait to return to Barbados!
