Owner description: Eagles Flying is a scientifically run Wildlife Sanctuary specializing on Birds of Prey and Owls. We focus on "hands on" interaction between our well trained animals and our visitors. During our educational flying demonstrations members of the audience can have a bird of prey land on their hand or have Eagles, Falcons, Hawks or Vultures stoop inches over their heads while Scientists inform in a friendly and fun way. Our visitors can also visit our unique "Touch-Zoo" where they can play and pet "Tui & Alan" our Foxes, get pick pocketed by "Grizzly" our tame Raccoon, have "Monty" our 4 meter Python around their shoulders or get up close and personal with any of the other unusual animals. Get closer than you have ever been to the masters of the sky. Eagles Flying really is an unforgettable experience and a must see for people of all ages and interests.

“Beautiful Birds, Great Experience”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

The show was not quite what I was expecting, which was to see eagles soaring above me. What we did see was several birds of prey that flew quite close to the spectators. There were even a few opportunities to have a bird land on your arm if one would like. Also, it was not just eagles; there were falcons, hawks, vultures and owls too. The gentleman who gave the presentation was equally concerned with educating us about the birds and trying to impress upon us their true nature as he was with providing a spectacle. It was an enlightening experience and an undoubtedly rare experience to be literally a few feet or less from these wonderful creatures. In fact, at the start of the show the first bird flew so close to me that its leather leg straps brushed my head.

They also have several other animals on the property that they care for including a 350 kg pig, three donkeys, ferrets, geese, guinea pigs, goats, sheep and many smaller birds. They are preservationists, and will take in any animal in need. I would definitely recommend Eagles Flying for the spectacle, the knowledge offered, and for the opportunity to contribute to the welfare of the animals in their care by visiting this attraction.

“Fabulous hands-on experience with birds-of-prey”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

Extremely informative and highly entertaining, you get up close and personal to a beautiful variety of birds-of-prey. In the presentation, Lothar, the charismatic owner of Eagles Flying, gives you an unforgettable experience as he encourages certain of his birds to swoop down onto your arm and take the proffered food from your hand. And you can have your hair tousled by an eagle as it soars millimeters over your head. Many birds to see, and a petting zoo that includes a thieving raccoon! When you enter the sanctuary, watch for the adorable donkeys, who mugged me for the apple in my bag! :-)

“Exceeded our expectations”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

We were undecided about stopping here, but as we were passing by around 11 am, when the morning show was due to begin, we decided to give it a try. I is quite a remarkable place. There are a variety of birds of prey, some owls, and a mix of other animals, the fate of which would all have been in question had this refuge not existed. The staff are knowledgeable and clearly care about the animals. The show got started a little late but did last at least a full hour and we were left to wander around at our leisure afterward, even though it was well past their normal 12.30 closing time for lunch hour. You get to see the beautiful birds up close and personal, while learning a great deal about them in a very entertaining way. It is well worth the €9.90 entrance fee.

“Something different - in a good way!”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

I wasn't sure what to expect when I went here last week with my nephew but I was very impressed.

The staff were very friendly and informative and showed us around the entire facility and made sure both adults and kids alike were equally entertained.

The stars are of course the birds of prey but there are also other interesting creatures like the baby donkey and the rescued ferrets. New indoor display area means that bad weather wasn't an issue when heavy rain erupted halfway through the show.

Will be back again.

“A must see”
Reviewed 4 October 2013

My in-laws live nearby and took us there on a early spring afternoon. If you don't know about it, you won't find it. It is remote. The staff, from all over the world and who live on site, were very friendly and know what they're talking about. We had a nice walk around to see all te birds in the cages before we watched the show. The show was very entertaining, interesting and interactive for kids and adults alike. They had birds of all sizes out and the let them land on your hand or shoulder. Afterwards we also spent some time at the petting zoo. Really worth it.
