We enjoyed lunch here very recently and although it was very quiet we were made extremely welcome by the owners. We have eaten many times at this restaurant but this was the first time since the new owners have taken over. The ambience of the restaurant is still excellent with the tables spaced out enough not to be over crowded. The food was excellent and modern and beautifully presented. Very good choice of main courses and wonderful desserts. Highly recommended and we wish the owners every success. They certainly deserve it.

This is a good restaurant for that special occasion. The views over the port at Erquy are wonderful and the room is quite small with room for around 30 diners maximum. The decor is tasteful and modern and the food typical modern French cuisine. The menus begin at 40 euros for a three course meal so it is not particularly cheap. The accent is on making the best use of Breton ingredients so the crab, fresh fish and fruits de mer are prominent and what I would recommend. I thought the wine was rather expensiv. The staff were friendly and attentive.

We arrived on Wednesday evening and found four restaurants open, three of those were owned by the same person so we chose the L'Escurial we have known of this restaurant for a number of years but always thought it expensive, well for what you get it was well worth the money.
The staff were excellent, we are here in Erquy for three weeks so will be back

We had lunch here mid week in September and enjoyed a very relaxing lunch. Living in Brittany, we have been here several times before and the food never fails to impress. Very well presented and always beautifully served on modern plates. The decor is very simple but who needs more with such a beatiful view across the bay. All the little extras make this a restaurant meal to remember. Seafood is always top of the list and as fresh as can be with the port of Erquy just along the road. Highly recommended.

Denis Froc caused quite a stir in our little village (Erquy, worth more than a visit), when he opened l'Escurial. On the main beach, with stunning views of silky soft white sand, emerald green sea lapping the Celtic rock profiles... I mean, it was a fantastic addition to our village. His menus resembled Olivier Roellinger's melange of the Rum Route, The Spice Route and the fresh, seasonal flavours of the Brittany coast. Until this summer where the food quite simply dried one's taste buds except for the flaky, buttery caramely Kouign Aman, My coquillage with hazelnut butter were very good, the bread and butter, superb, my seafood dish was over salted, my dessert of a sable with white chocolate and raspberries was very sweet and lacked flavour and texture. Sadly, everything was either heavy (on the creme, the salt and the sugar), just missing the multi-layered flavours, fragrances, textures that we have come to associate this chef with. We did eat at Roellinger's last year and so gave Froc a miss and this year decided to eat at Froc's. I'd rather spend the money at Roellinger's. The staff were a trifle cold as well, which is not what we expected. We regretted having decided to have our last meal there instead of at a local creperie. Dommage! We'd invited our friends too, and all of us were surprised by this let down.
