“Nice country retreat”
Reviewed 3 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Communication with home owner prior to stay was excellent. All inquiries answered quickly. Had a difficult time initially locating house but a call to property manager got us there. She was also very helpful when we had questions and brought a fan to compensate for the ceiling fan that wasn't working. The house itself, though old style, was very clean and stocked with basics. Pictures of the rooms were deceiving in size but it was cozy enough for 3 adults and 2 teenagers. Beds and pillows felt great after a day's outing. The location was wonderful for driving around the other villages. This was a start to our England vacation...next was London.

“Great facilities with some lovely touches in a generous accommodation.”
Reviewed 6 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Before our stay the owner kept in touch with useful local knowledge, requirements in the property and general helpful information.
The property was lovely; well proportioned for our group which included young children and a dog. Good bedroom to bathroom ratio and large living area with plenty of seating. The garden was very secure and we were lucky enough with the weather to sit outside for a BBQ in the evening.
The village is very peaceful and there is a public footpath about 5mins walk from the house that is safe for dogs to be off the lead.

“Absolutely brilliant cottage”

There were 10 of us that stayed at Troutbeck for the weekend in November. Right from the booking process through to our stay - Chris (the owner) was so helpful and friendly. He gave really clear directions of how to find the cottage, things to do in the local area, and even supplied us with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits which was a nice touch for when we arrived!

There was free wifi as well which was a nice bonus! Although we didn't meet Chris during our stay - he emailed me to say that if we needed anything we could call him whilst we were there. We didn't need to do this but was nice to know he was on hand if we did.

The cottage itself is lovely - really spacious and definitely enough room for all of us (10 adults). The living room and conservatory was really big, with a dining table we could all fit around. The bedrooms were all really clean and all a good size - with towels and mini shampoos etc left out on all the beds which again was a nice touch.

It was bad weather while we were there so we didn't use the garden but it was a good size and had a BBQ/outdoor seating so would be really good to visit during the summer.

The location was great too - really quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend walking to the local pub - the Golden Ball Inn, which was only about 2 minutes walk. They do really nice home cooked food and everyone in there was friendly and welcoming. It had a proper 'country pub' feel to it.

Just a 5 minute drive and you're in Stow on the Wold - which is also worth visiting. There's a big Tesco there so can get stocked up, and lots of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms. Would recommend going to Huffkins Tea Room for lunch.

Would definitely recommend staying at this cottage, it was brilliant and great value too!

“Comfortable and spacious rental property in The Cotswolds”
Reviewed 28 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We needed a property large enough for a family (2 adults+2 Children) and 3 addtional adults, suitable for a family meet up in The Cotswolds. I chose Troutbeck due to: the location (a good central base to explore), high standard in the pictures, previous reviews, and number of rooms within it. We weren't disappointed.

Instructions for arrival were clear and we had no problem finding the courtyard in which it is located. There was parking for 2+ vehicles (although does require some maneouvring due to layout of courtyard). Upon entering the property we were really happy with the size and standard - there was even an extra bunk room which meant everyone could spread out.

We particularly enjoyed the adjoining dining/kitchen/conservatory room where we relaxed/ate, and there were plenty of bathrooms for the size of party (1 ensuite, 1 main, 1 shower/toilet).

Overall we were very happy with our stay, and would definitely book here again. It was well equipped and the only thing we couldn't find were instructions on recycling rubbish (although this is obviously minor)!

The local area / Stow-on-the-Wold is easily accessible and I'd recommend this property and location to groups/families looking for a high quality place to stay.
