Take great tasting coffee, smoothies, freshly made pizza, crepes, chocolate brownie sundae's and homemade cakes.
Add service with a smile (and they even remember my name!!), then add gluten free options, and you get Eleos! It certainly has the wow factor, and is a prime example of what a local cafe should be. The personal touch goes a long way and Eleos really doesn't dissapoint.
Perfectly placed in the heart of town, you are guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome whenever you visit. The menu has a great variety of hot or cold foods, pizzas, panninis, crepes... And the best bit... Everything is available gluten free!
Now many many visits later... The GF pizza gets a 9/10 from me, and is up on a level with pizza hut and dominos GF pizzas taste texture and size wise. The crepes are divine, sweet and savory both get a thumbs up. The panninis are tasty, however as usual with GF food smaller than their wheat containing counter parts, were not a dissapointment taste wise.
Then we come to the little gem of pure lushness! The gluten free chocolate brownie. Priced at an extremely reasonable £1.20 these are a small piece of chocolate heaven! What Eleos have created is an amazingly tasty well priced, gluten free treat. With a nice biscuit base and a delightfully moist texture they get the hugest thumbs up possible.
Eleos get a thumbs up for awareness of what is or isn't gluten free, as well as having cross contamination awareness too. However there is a visable warning of the possibility being there of cross cintamination, they do their best to stop this from happening. The customer can visibally see staff cleaning all work tops before preperation of gluten free food which is reassuring. Seperate tongs are also used for all cakes. Which is again very reassuring.
My gluten eating friends love their other cakes and the whole menu is well enjoyed. Have not seen the cafe empty yet suggesting it is proving popular with local people. Now with the introduction of free customer wifi, eleos is child friendly, has a step free back door access (great for prams or wheelchair users). All in all Eleos has very quickly become my fav place to eat out... One week every day! It is the kind of place as a coeliac you can only dream about... Visit, eat, drink and enjoy. You won't be dissapointed!
