Great hotel main house featured in TV programme To the Manor Born. Staff where friendly and attentive. The location was quiet and very pretty. There is a pool, sauna, steam room , gymnasium with lessons in archery and rifle shooting. There was entertainment every evening with quizzes and other things to do during the day. What you wanted to do and how much was up to you. One attraction to me was no children allowed. The weekend I stayed was a free drinks from 1800-2359 stay which added to the weekend. Cost was reasonable about £50 per person per night.

Room Tip: Stay in walled garden and eat in the Granary.

Just read the brochure on return home and we did not find our slippers in our Royale room also the mini bar brochure description with snacks to purchase did not exist. Our room on the top floor was very hot and would have benefited if Warners had put a fan in the room. The radio cd was crap and who uses the dvd player?
We had lunch included but it turned out to be a saga lout voucher for a special budget lunch snack- why not give guests a credit against the proper lunch menu?
The kippers arrived before we had a chance to eat our cereal. We asked the 'waiter' if he could bring the kippers back in 5-10 minutes well the butter had completely melted.
Warners is a budget formula you can get a lot for your money with all the entertainment but you still only have a little dining table no matter what size bedroom you have. We paid £10 for a house wine of £16.50 but if we wanted to upgrade to a £26 bottle we would have to pay £1 not the difference, why? The price for our room was £400 plus per night but no one ever pays the correct price do they?
Table or rather spoon 12 table at the lunch venue had a rotten umbrella stand that had obviously been there for months- why not remove it?
Rotten signs and poor state of Mr Blobbi's remains and wildlife park are sad

Room Tip: do not choose a top floor room in July or August. We heard that walled garden ground floor rooms had...

It was all about the staff this time for Marky and I.

Somehow Steve manages to engender enthusiasm in to his staff more and more each time we go. The proudness of working in such an environment just shines out of everyone that we met.

It’s so so difficult to say specifically each time who has outshone the other as it is such a wonderful team…. However, on this occasion we must thank:

· Russell Bonfield for his great personality and outgoing nature

· Bradlee – for running his tight ship but always in a friendly manner with the ultimate in professionalism

· Calvin – for being so enthusiastic and professional whilst always offering the niceties of being recognised as a previous customer

· Justin – for this cheerful nature and disposition whilst always offering you the best cuts of meat and food

· Judith – for the amazing cleanliness that she kept our suite in

The list could go on and on Penny (Sales), Steve (Ents), Neil (Awesome), James I (Ents), Robyn (Ents), Amiee (Reception), Jonathan (House Team), Colleen (House Team)

To quote Audrey “Most of our historic houses are no longer lived in by Dukes and Duchesses; they're full of Arabs and pop stars, or they've been taken over by the gas board and turned into rest houses for exhausted meter-readers.” – she certainly got it wrong with Cricket didn’t she as it is so so so full of life in all ways

Room Tip: Historic Room all the way

We didn't know what to expect, except that the other guests were likely to be of the older generation. We weren't wrong there!

However, we were there for a quiet relaxing break and this didn't disappoint. Spacious rooms. Excellent service all around. Fantastic Gardens.

The entertainments staff worked very hard and the quality of evening entertainment was up there with the best. Couples in their 70' & 80's dancing to 60's music included. I hope I have their energy when I'm that age!

If there was one disappointment, it was the choice on the menu. Whilst there were additional choices apart from the buffet, options were not that inspiring. In fact, that's all that has stopped me going this a 5.

Oh - the spa and facilities were greet too. We made much use of those :)

We would definitely take another Warners break.

Having used Warner's Hotels on a number of occasions we were disappointed with our weekend break.

After filling in the questionnaire, the day after arriving home ten days ago, with some negative reports no one has had the respect to acknowledge receipt of what I regard as quite serious comments.

We have had some marvellous times with Warner's, now we have had problems it appears as if we are being ignored. For that reason alone has this review been written.

On arrival there was ample car parking spaces, after parking we were greeted by an employee who explained what to do,leave the cases with him, check in at reception which was very efficient, return for cases as we were in a walled garden room,he explained to drive to walled garden car park.
Our room was a standard signature over looking the garden,it was large and very well appointed on the first floor, with a small fridge containing 2 bottles of water.Good tea/coffee/biscuits replenished daily.A good size bathroom, good shower, and the room had plenty of storage space, beds were very comfortable and spotless.
The restaurant for both breakfast and evening dinner was very efficient with a good choice of food.Nightly entertainment was excellent. There are plenty of day time activities, and the grounds are very large and you can wander for miles.
