“2 night break”
Reviewed 15 August 2013

we had a special deal for the 2 nights really good value. The hotel was originally a farmhouse and part of it are quaint with beams and low ceilings. We ate one night in the conservatory restaurant very nice service from the young staff, the meal was delicious as were the breakfasts. We had a lovely room overlooking the garden very comfy bed and the thickest towels I've ever seen in a hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Booked a two night stay as a birthday surprise for my fiance. Enjoyed a couple of drinks in the lovely garden before dinner, which was a perfect tonic to the six hour trip we'd had down due to traffic. We enjoyed the dinner so much we changed our plan to eat out the next evening and dined at the hotel again. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was immaculately clean. We had a great stay. Excellent location as a base for exploring the area.

Let's start with the negative: We were very disappointed with the service from the reception, both on checking in and checking out. When checking in there were no pleasantries exchanged, I would have thought they would have least have said "Welcome to the Lordleaze Hotel", but no and again on checkout we said we've come to check out and handed over the key and was just told "that's fine", again you would expect them to have asked if we enjoyed our stay and to have a safe trip home or something.

The internet went down whilst we were there, but was fixed within the day - so good service there. It was great that free wifi was available.

Our room was very nice and very clean. The shower was amazing, really powerful and hot! Only downside with the bathroom was that I couldn't open the door from inside the bathroom, the doorknob was really stiff.

The breakfast was superb, such a great range and vast quantities. The waitress serving the breakfast was rushed off her feet but still managed to smile and not be stressed out.

Good value as we had a special deal but would not pay full price.

Lets start with the positive. We are 3 star HOTEL with a great focus on our Restaurant serving delicious food with excellent service and our Bar with a warm traditional Hotel Bar atmosphere.

We are not a B&B but Reception is always very attentive, sorry if you felt let down. To enjoy the Hotel to its true value spend some time in our Bar or Garden or lounge or Restaurant.... We don't have a chance to get to know you if you stay in your room.

We stayed for two nights on an Amazon local deal and it was excellent value for money. The hotel is very comfortable, the staff friendly and the breakfasts very good. It lies in a very peaceful setting with a pretty garden (and would be very good if you have a dog as there is a large field for exercising - the hotel is dog friendly).
Our room was No.5, which looked out over the garden and, although not large, had everything we needed. The bed was comfy and everything was very clean. The water pressure was amazing - both bath and shower (with two heads to choose from) had seemingly endless hot water and I've never known a bath to fill so quickly!
We saw a great deal in two days. Lyme Regis, Seaton and Beer are within half an hour's drive and we loved Forde Abbey, which is just down the road and absolutely beautiful. Do go to The Cotley Inn at Wambrook (as recommended by Tripadvisor) for lunch or dinner. Excellent food, friendly people and a beautiful setting.
All in all a very good hotel in a very good position for exploring the wonderful local countryside.

We stayed for a 2 night stay at the Lordleaze Hotel and it was everything we hoped it would be. Lovely double room with all the amenities you would need and the comfiest bed - the whole place was really homely. Full credit to whoever cooks the breakfasts. Excellent choice and quality of food and the waiting on staff were really efficient and friendly. If I was going to be picky, the shower in room 14 was a bit lacking in oomph but it didn't really matter for the time we were there. 100% recommended and would definitely return.

we arrived at the hotel, set in a lovely location. Staff were very helpful and room were good for the price. i think it deserves a higher star rating than 3.
only downside was going thru a residential area before getting to the hotel.
great for a quite weekend and towns are not far away by car.
