Stayed here for one night on route to Cornwall with husband and 3 children. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome and the owners went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. The rooms were a good size, very comfortable beds and a bath and shower in each en suite. The food was outstanding, an excellent evening menu executed by a talented chef and delivered by friendly and polite waiting staff. There was a great choice of good value, delicious wines to accompany the meal sold by knowledgeable staff. The bar and lounge area was a comfortable area to relax in the evenings and there was a good choice of food at breakfast. Our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer but we will definitely be making a return visit, it was great to stay somewhere family run that has retained it's charm. Excellent value for money.

We stayed at the Lordleaze with a deal and it was excellent value. The room was a good size and the staff very friendly. We were especially grateful to the friendly waiting staff at breakfast. Breakfast was delicious! We would certainly stay here again.

My wife and I spent 3 nights here with our two young boys...the hotel is a good 3 star base to stay in the Somerset / Devon area. The breakfast was very good with a great choice of cooked food to choose from, and the food in the restaurant was of good quality and fairly reasonably priced. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming which made our stay pleasant. The hotel is clean and homely, but decor is quite dated.

The location is ideal if you're looking for a peaceful short break...the hotel set in a field which is located behind a local housing estate about 1.5 miles from downtown Chard. Chard itself has very little to offer but this shouldn't put you off as the lovely villages of Beer and Lyme Regis are both only a 30min drive away from the Lordleaze.

All of our food is locally sourced and of good quality.
The hotel is constantly being updated with new beds, painting & furniture etc.
We are in a great location for visiting all the surrounding areas with lots of exciting things to do.
We hope to see you back here one day.
Thank you

I was working nearby and was very pleased with the hotel, the location is easy to find if you just follow the signs on the roads..
Very quiet surroundings, well looked after rooms and shower room. Quick and easy check in and out in the morning, will look forward to returning.
The food was excellent, better than most you get at hotels, the breakfast was cooked fresh to order and faultless.
Nice chat with the owner in the bar in the evening, football rugby cricket life and the universe all made for a nice personable touch..

We stayed with a voucher deal for one night at the Lordleaze. Reception staff were friendly and professional and we were quickly checked in and directed to our room on the first floor.
The room was basic but had been kept to a decent standard of hygiene and decor. The room and bathroom had obviously been worked a few times but it was pleasant enough.
The kettle, tea, coffee and toiletries were nice touches.
The view from the window was of a nice garden and the shower was good and powerful and hot.
The mattress was a bit lumpy and the sheets were not the best quality.
Wifi was easy to set up and when we telephoned reception our questions were answered promptly and courteously.
We didn't try the food so couldn't comment on that. All in all a decent stay.

Room Tip: Room 20 had a nice view of the garden

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights on one of the hotels special offers as an anniversary present to ourselves.
This is a really excellent place to stay. The room was warm and comfortable. We ate in the bar both nights and the food was first class as was the service. Breakfast also had a good choice and was served very quickly with a smile from the waitress. The staff are so polite and do everything to make you welcome...nothing is too much trouble. We would have no hesitation in returning.

My husband purchased a 2 night stay at the Lordleaze Hotel as a birthday present. We stayed at the Lordleaze from 15th to 17th April 2014. Our room had a lovely view of the court yard and garden to the rear, which is a lovely area to have a drink and relax, its real sun trap. We had a lovely stay and breakfast was great, lots of choices, plenty of it and very friendly staff. Weather was great and wished we could have stayed for longer.

We visited lots of places from here, its in easy reach of Lyme Regis (has a great sun rise at the harbour for any budding photographers), West Bay, Charmouth, Dorchester and Bridport has a market through the street on Wednesdays and Saturdays

Took a while to find the hotel as our sat nav took us into the industrial estate then we missed the turning left opposite St Marys Church and carried on towards Axminster but found it on our return towards Chard. I read the reviews before we arrived and as a previous visitor had mentioned it really isn't the Lordleazes fault that it is found by driving through a housing estate (with some lovely houses) as it was there long before the houses were built.

Looking forward to going back soon.

Glad you had a great time and got to see the local area.
There is so much to do and visit in the somerset area and being right in the centre we are great base for everyone to do this.
There is something for everyone with our breakfasts and if you don't see it on our menu then just ask.
When using a Sat Nav in the future type in the address and postcode, it should bring you straight here.
Hope to see you again!
