“What a great find”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

Just stayed at the Anixi hotel on my Thomson package holiday and liked it so much that I have book to stay again independently in 3 months time. The rooms are comfortable but not luxurious, but are incredibly clean and fresh. The family who own and run the hotel are so very very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel is by a road, but not noisy, and is very close to bars, restaurants, beaches and supermarkets, and on a bus route. Close to Mykonos town and easy to walk into town.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 to 5 have a kitchen and good sea views.

We stayed at Anixi for the second year running for a total of nine nights. We are independent travellers and all booking arrangements are dealt with efficiently by Eleni, the owner. As agreed, we were met at the airport by her father.

This hotel is very much "family run" with Eleni, her husband Panos, and both her parents actively involved in the daily running of the business. We cannot speak highly enough of the friendliness and hospitality shown to us. We were even given a special recipe for meatballs by Eleni's mother which we couldn't wait to try out once we got home.

The accomodation has a wonderful setting as can be seen from the hotel's website. It was such a delight to have breakfast each morning on our balcony as we looked over the bay just below the hotel. The rooms are kept spotless, cleaned daily; towels and facecloths are replaced daily, bed linen is changed every three days. Our room had a fridge, two ring cooker plate, ample wardrobe and cupboard space and a safe, free of charge. Also, if required, air-conditioning was available, free of charge.

Panos provides a fully authorised car rental business; we hired an automatic, small car(Daihatsu) at a cost of 35euro per day plus cost of petrol, based on our actual usage. In our case, this came to an extra 8euro. As this was our first time driving on the island, Panos was extremely helpful in recommending the best roads to take and what areas to avoid.

If you need anything the family will endeavour to help e.g they will ring on your behalf to book a taxi. Wi-fi is free; it was accessible in the vicinity of the reception area. Breakfast is available in the reception area and prepared by the family.

Upon our departure, Eleni's father drove us to the airport.

Some relevant information:

For the month of June, buses to Mykonos town were hourly( from 9.40) in the morning and half hourly in the afternoons. Fare cost 1.60euro per person.

Cost of a taxi to/from Mykonos town was,on average, 7euro one-way, although on two separate occasions we were charged 5euro and then 10euro for the same journey.

For anyone on a self catering basis, the local supremarkets, bakeries and butcher are more than adequate for your needs; all are within 5 minutes walk from Anixi.

Just returned from a week at the Anixi - we stayed in number 11, a studio for 2. Spotlessly clean and the family running it are lovely people. We had a rainstorm one day and the cleaners even washed the white tops of the walls between each room! We had a little kitchenette so were able to make our breakfast. Fridge kept our drinks chilled and there was a supermarket and 2 excellent bakeries almost next door. Tip - the bakery next to the supermarket is best for bread/cakes/filled rolls, and the one nearest to the Anixi sells divine ice cream - but strangely had no bread all week! We ate in Ornos most nights - once we walked to just outside Mykonos town to eat at Niko's Place but they called a taxi for us to come back in. Wouldn't walk along the main road in the dark. Would definitely recommend the Anixi.

Room Tip: Corner studio apartments have two windows - the ones in the middle can be a little dark.

We came for a week for my partners birthday and wished we could have stayed longer. If you're looking for peace and relaxation this is the place to stay. The studio's are all amazing and each has its own character (we stayed in #8). The family who own/run this are some of the nicest people we have met abroad.
Everything you could possibly need is right on your doorstep.
This place is clean and fresh and beautiful
The food at the local restaurant was plentiful and the locals are very friendly.
We love this place and will definitely be back.....

Just returned from a weeks stay in Mykonos my wife and I stayed at the Anixi studios. We could not fault it so clean you could eat of the floor. Eleni and her mum were always their if you needed any thing. Local restaurants good and only five minutes from the beach forty minutes stroll along the coast road to the main town would we return you bet.

These are family run self -catering studios, We were greeted like we were family when we arrived . The accomodation is clean and if you need anything you only have to ask, very near the beach and some good restaurants, two excellent bakeries , a butchers, a fishmongers and supermarket.
The bus stop to Mykonos is just over the road and Eleni will always call a taxi which cost between 5 & 7 euros. A joy to watch the kite surfers in the bay. The sheets were changed 3 times in the week we stayed, towels every day and clean tea towels every day. I was surprised as there is a water shortage on Mykonos not having any rain this winter. Highly recommend this accomodation.
We really enjoyed our week here, the only thing is the high prices in Mykonos itself.
