“nice place to stay”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

mykonos ammos is a trendy hotel, nice large rooms very well equipped with fridge, large bed, large modern shower, sofa, big LCD tv and large patio. Your choice between pool view or sea view but rooms with sea view are smaller. The hotel is right on a beautiful beach, about 8 minute car drive from Mykonos. You can also walk or take a bus. There are 2 pools which are lovely and not crowded at all during our visit.

There are many restaurants close by, markets, ATMs, hair salons, SPA, everything is right there. It as a quiet and relax area with just a few hotels. However the beach can get crowded pretty fast during high season. The breakfast is included and is very good, one of the best I've had for an included breakfast.

Staff everywhere is very pleasant, helpful and welcoming.

one the downside, there are vendors on the beach whcih can get a bit annoying in low season since they have a lot of potential clients ! Also, although the rooms are nice they are not soundproof.

From the time we arrived at Mykonos we where surprised how lovely it is. The countryside is spotted with white houses with blue and red doors with lots of little private churches. The hills are very rough with rocks and very dry, each property is marked with low rock walls which is quite interesting.
Ammos hotel is a jewel in Mykonos, right on the beach with spectacular views. Rooms are quaint and very clean, with lovely linen. Breakfast is OK, staff are lovely and helpful. Free shuttle is great.
The beach is amazing and weather is perfect, although windy late in the afternoon. Visiting the township and other beaches was also a highlight. Bus to these locations is excellent and costs 1.60 euro great value as the roads are very narrow if you choose to hire a car. I would certainly recommend this hotel!!!

We've just come back from a week long stay at the Mykonos Ammos hotel and absolutely loved it! Set right on the beach, the design and decor of the hotel captures the very essence of the setting: serene, simple but really tasteful.

We emailed the hotel in advance to arrange a (free) transfer and upon arrival had a tour round the hotel abilities: both epitomised our stay from the start....informative but relaxed, friendly but not in your face.

The beach was popular but we never struggled for one of the gorgeous double bed sun loungers. We had read about being charged for the loungers and unfortunately it's true, 12 euros every day. Really don't know why hotel guests can't get them free. Not sure if it's the same all season but a lot of locals seemed to arrive towards the end of each day which we personally enjoyed just adding to the vibe of the beach which also had music playing all day, cranking up later in the afternoon. It's not big party style just background beats. The sea was just AMAZING-the clearest we've EVER seen and very still. The beachside service was really efficient-you get a free bottle of water with your bed and thereafter the staff are around for anything else.

The breakfast was good-we've had better but there was a good enough choice. It could have done with a better selection of coffee and perhaps some water though. The Kuzina restaurant at night however was brilliant, probably the best food we had on the island, eating there twice - the sushi especially was so fresh. We thought the staff were a little bit surly though especially compared to what we experienced during the day. There's a DJ each night but again, it's more background beats to enjoy a few drinks.

The room was clean and comfortable plus really quiet. It would have been good to have had complimentary water in the room each day.

Wifi was sketchy depending where we were in the hotel.

The bus stop to Mykonos town is right next to the hotel and run really regularly. We also hired an ATV for a day to check out the rest of the island and can safely say the Mykonos Ammos hotel has the best location and is on one of the best beaches.....just a few little touches and it could be outstanding.

We stayed here for a week in September and loved the place. From the second we got there the staff could not do enough for us and even offered to upgrade our room at no extra cost to ourselves. The hotel is clean and stylish and has everything you need with complementary toiletries replaced each day. The beach has a laid back vibe and always had enough beds available. The surrounding area has some nice restaurant and would definitely recommend the Italian restaurant as well as the restaurant opposite the reception area of the hotel. Although it does not look much the food was great and the value even better. I would highly recommend this hotel.. It was that nice we are even planning to return with our family.

The hotel was very stylish and chic, with interior design simple and beautiful in a cool industrial way yet comfortable with an amazing huge bed. The staff were very helpful and cheerful when it came to anything we needed for my daughter. The location was great for the beach which was clean with shallow water and had the most comfortable sun beds I've ever been on. There was a great selection of restaurants around, and the hotels restaurant served delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner right on the beach, perfect for people watching. The hotel was pretty funky with music playing all day and night with lovely cool detail touches as were the guests staying there!

We booked Ammos using a half price offer we found online. We booked a 4 night stay having never been to Mykonos before.

Friends had raved about the place.

The collection from the ferry port and the booking in was superb. The staff were amazing. Extremely friendly, very helpful and informative.

There was a problem with the room we were due to have and so we were put up in their 'sister hotel' nearby. The staff were so apologetic and it was as if they expected us to really complain.

Where they put us, 'hotel Deliades' was absolutely superb. It was fantastic. Beautiful breathtaking views. Very spacious suite and excellent facilities.

When we got to Ammos for the remainder of the stay they told us they had upgraded us for the inconvience of being put at the Deliades.

Our booking confirmation actually suggested we'd have an upgrade anyway so it wasn't really a compensation.

Overall the place was amazing but breakfast wasn't anything special at all.

It's worth a stay but most definitely over priced for what you get. Book when they have at least half price offers on.

We researched the Deliades and what we had there would have been a third of the cost of Ammos, even with our special offer. Given the proximity and the fact of paying for beach sunbeds, next time we will probably book Deliades directly!

On leaving, it was different reception staff. They were simply indifferent and a total contrast to the lovely ones who welcomed us...

Book and stay nearby! Don't get ripped off.
