There were 4 of us, and due to time constraints only stayed one night at the resort. It was perfect!! We were taken to the island by motor boat. Our cottages were on stilts, and over the water, and our patios had breathtaking views of the different shades of the blue waters. We watched the change of the high and low tides of the water, enjoyed swimming and snorkeling, but did not have time for scuba diving and canoeing/paddle boats. We had our meals at the restaurant where we were served by very accommodating and friendly waiters.
There is no electricity in the island, and the island is run by generators. Air conditioners in the rooms are only allowed from 6 pm till 8 a.m, and no internet. But the phones work, and we were able to use our hot spot if we wanted to check the web. Surprisingly, we didn’t miss not having air conditioners or internet because there were so many things to do there, or as some of us did, just laid down on the hammock, read and took naps.
At around lunchtime, I am told, and I also witnessed, the island gets groups of tourists who come to the island for the day to go snorkling or scuba diving, and eat lunch at the resort.
So if you’re looking for the amenities of a hotel, then Nalusuan Island Resort is not for you. But if you are looking for peace, relaxation and breathtaking water views, and lots of water activities, then, go visit Nalusuan. It’s cheaper than going to Bora Bora or Tahiti. I’m glad we did!!
