What can I say - this restaurant serves the best tapas we had in Spain, and we had dinner 3 times here during a 10-day visit to Andalusia. The menu is in Spanish, which is not a problem for those who don't understand the language, because everything is good!

Before beginning this review I´ve just read a selection of previous reviews and am most surprised by the strongly contrasting opinions expressed. If our experience yesterday evening is a marker, then I would have to come down decisively on the positive side.

Four of us had Dinner. We were the only table - for about 5 minutes, then the restaurant quickly filled completely. On a chill Friday evening in November this is already an impressive corroboration and recommendation.

We were disappointed, however, that we couldn´t order the really interesting looking Moroccan dishes which had to be requested in advance. It was our first visit, we of course didn´t have the menu so hadn´t been aware of this but we understood, given the style of cooking.

What we did have was very good and the portions generous. The house red was a more than decent Ribera del Duero. We didn´t bother to consult the wine list but could see from the wine cupboard near our table that a good range of choice was available. As with the food, we let the thoroughly pleasant and competent waiter guide our choice.

An unexpected little complimentary chocolate dessert helped send us home very satisfied. We all felt it was a different and very pleasant change from the restaurants we normally frequent in the area.

What a superb find this was! Located just two blocks back from the seafront and in an alleyway between Paseo de Larios and Calle Bernabe Fernandez, Taberna Mogador has inside seating with a typically Spanish rustic style decor as well as seating outside in the alleyway which is covered by a large awning and bounded by a high whitewashed wall - so really gives an intimate feel. The menu is Spanish but some of the dishes have a Moroccan influence.

Instead of having starter and then main courses we chose three dishes to share Triangulos Rellenos de Ternera (triangles of filo pastry filled with minced beef) €7.50, gambas pil-pil (spicy hot prawns with garlic & chilli) €7.50 and tostas with guacamole and langostinos (6 small pieces of toasted bread each topped with guacamole and a langostino) €7.50.

There were four substantial sized triangulos with fine filo pastry ( a bit like samosas) and generously filled with spicy minced beef with a mild pepper sauce on the side. Have had gambas pil-pil many, many times in other restaurants but I have to say these were amongst the freshest and plumpest prawns and a substantial portion for such a reasonable price. When we reached the tostas, we were almost full up.

To round off the meal we chose 1 chocolate truffle which came with vanilla icecream and the price was an incredible €1 - yes just one Euro!

We had a bottle of Anta 10 Ribera del Duero Crianza red wine for €18.50 - an excellent price for this wine! The wine list had a good selection of wines available (our choice was around mid-price). The waiter was attentive and friendly. One aspect of the meal which was much appreciated by us was that the waiter and kitchen staged the delivery of the dishes one by one, rather than everything arriving at once!

Overall we cannot fault the experience. Incredible value for such a quality meal and we will be recommending this restaurant to our friends. Incidentally they offer a number of dishes which need 24 hours notice so we are definitely going back to try the Lamb Tajine and the Beef Couscous.

We visited this Restaurant with friends and their family, as there were nine of us, we tried lost of different dishes starting with two different types of salads, they were both amazing. Then we had some Moroccan pastry with chicken (delicious), then onto a selection of different meats on bread, then t-bone steak to share with chips. The Moroccan pastry and T-bone steaks have to be ordered, but we were lucky enough for them both to be on the specials that evening. THEN the sweet came out to share, an extremely large ice-cream surrounded by all sorts of lovely deserts. Everything was amazing, the staff were friendly, the service was great and the atmosphere brilliant. This is at the end if a side street, so not many people passing by, the whole place was packed the whole time we were there, which they deserved, We will certainly be back again and again. In one week we visited the worst Restaurant since being in Spain and one of the best, luckily we ended on a high.

Admittedly, it was not busy on the cool Sunday evening we dined here. After our great croquettes (shrimp and leek) and philo triangles of ground veal, the staff brought a complimentary dessert of chocolate and ice cream. An accidental bit of chocolate sauce on my shirt (my fault) caused a spray can of spot remover and a brush to appear. Following this we requested coffee, but they have no coffee machine. Our waiter nevertheless took the order and left, returning 2 minutes later with cafe con leche from the cafe next door. Service beyond reasonable expectations, and friendly conversation with two waiters and the chef. We will return.
