“Will certainly return soon.”

Our first visit to Irvins, the food was fantastic. Seafood very fresh, and cooked in a very interesting manner. Mrs P' declared the mussels then lamb amongst the best she has ever eaten.
Nice ambience, stylish decor.
Only negative was speed of service - just a little slow but it was a busy Saturday night. The high for me was the Reisliing.

“Stingy portions but nice”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014 via mobile

Only wanted some ice cream..Was served the stingiest and smallest scoop of ice cream ever...however it was v.nice. The young lad who served was fantastic..brilliant with customers..they should see him as an assett..he was really helpful...we took ages to be served..not his fault..it was the restaurants...bit of a subdued atmosphere in the place..not good value overall

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

This is either the third or fourth time I have visited this restaurant and I have always highly reccomended the food and service here. Today, however, I have been beyond disappointed! My starter of goats cheese and watercress salad and my husbands starter of what is essentially cold ham and onion chutney...(very yummy) took half an hour to be served. However, the waitress was very good and offered more bread which we declined. I the asked for lamb and veg.....it arrived and all I can describe was a roll of fat served on 2 potatoes, a couple of leaves of cabbage and 2 stems of broccoli! VERY disheartened by this!! I love this restaurant and have to say this is definitely the worst meal I've had here!!

“Relaxed informal dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

Had a meal here as part of catching up with old workmates, and founds the food & service excellent. Despite being a Sunday evening (last sitting before close) we were not rushed at all.

Food was excellent, very tasty, and portions just a nice size to allow desert to be an option :-)

Will definitely go back.

“Unexpected gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

We have just spent our second great evening at Irvin's in less than a week and the great first experience was repeated. First time we arrived past last orders in a Sunday evening but they were still happy to serve us and we were not rushed at all but made to feel very welcome. Fabulous menu which delivered in terms of flavour an quality. The staff, were so lovely, including it the chef and we vowed to come back - hence the visit tonight. Despite the fact that the restaurant was busier all aspects that had impressed us on the first visit did so again tonight. We don't live locally but in France and America so are only visiting but we will be back again before we leave the UK.
