All the aircraft that land on the island of Rhodes fly directly over this hotel and the noise is incredible approx' equivalent to 20 to 30 trains passing by at once. We went to bed each night with toilet paper in our ears in an attempt to block out the noise. As well as planes the hotel management are strange i.e. they seem to ignore the guests entirely. They rarely spoke to us and wanted us to use the back entrance. They give minimal self catering equipment and no more i.e. a plate fell from the drainer (usual poor quality type) onto the floor and broke. We did ask for another plate but they never provided it so we had to make do with just one plate for the majority of the time we were there. We understand that they must be very aggrieved about all the planes flying directly over their hotel but couldn't understand why they were completely oblivious to the needs of their guests until we realized that most leave after two or three days. It then dawned on us that they get paid for a week/two weeks stay but only have to accommodate guests for two/three nights which explained their attitude. As well as ignoring their guests they also allow the hotel to be used by the locals almost exclusively both the pool and the lounge areas. In the lounge area this locals policy is very unwelcoming In the pool area they have signs around one states that children must be accompanied by guardians/parents at all times but this does not apply to the local children who use it in large numbers. Avoid this hotel it's operating under false pretenses.

Room Tip: Planes directly over this hotel the noise is phenomenal in all parts of the hotel

i didnt want to give this holiday any rating but the website requires it. booked a holiday via a high street travel agent for the first time ever as i was busy. It cost £1500 and the accommodation wasnearly £800 for 10 nights in the margaret studios/hotel, kremasti, rhodes. My only request was somewhere quiet.

The room was directly under a very busy incoming flight path. There were planes coming in to land no more than 200 feet above our room throughout the night and day. It was impossible to sleep or even rest or enjoy the pool area outside. The barman said a previous group of people had spent their holiday day and night in the bar and only visited the pool once in two weeks. It's not surprising!
The room was supposed to be a studio apartment for two. It wasn't. It was a shabby double room with a small table and sink unit squeezed into one corner. Can't fault the local people, the beach area or kremasti itself (although its not exactly a quiet Greek village)...but definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel or any other in the area if you want to have a quiet, restful holiday or get any sleep at night.

We weren't offered any suitable alternative by Co OP travel so we paid more money, hired a car and found our own studio apartment on the other side of the island at Haraki for a third of the price.I've travelled alot including backpacking around india, nepal etc and slept in the car on a road trip across the states, so i'm realistic about things but it wasnt a cheap hotel. I would definitely recommend Haraki. Idyllic quite bay area, with two beaches either side of the little village and plenty of inexpensive apartments and restaurants etc.

i have photos and video footage of the planes going overhead but i'm still waiting for the travel company to acknowledge that they've viewed the footage and agree i should at least be reimbursed for the cost of the accommodation.

Room Tip: first time i've used a travel agent. wouldnt bother again. book your own holiday and use this si...

If you're on a holiday where you spend a lot of time in and around the hotel, by the pool etc. then this probably isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a nice, simple place to stay that is only a 10 minute bus ride from the capital then it's perfect! I went with a friend and we literally used the hotel to shower and sleep in. The staff are friendly and their is a shop owned by a very helpful and friendly couple, literally a stones throw away.

Kremasti is a nice little village. It has some lovely restaurants (varbos - I think its called) in particular is amazing!! It's where all the locals eat so you know it's going to be good. There are buses running every 10 minutes that go into Rhodes from where you can catch a bus to any part of the island. The Bus fare into Rhodes town is only 2.20 each. The buses on the way back to Kremasti run until midnight so eating in Rhodes town is always an option. Taxi's are always another option and they are reasonably cheap (A taxi from Faliraki to Kremasti cost 18 Euros)

The beaches near the hotel and along on the west coast (including Rhodes town) are stoney and have strong currents. I'd definitely invest in some shoes for swimming in. Generally the beaches on the East coast are prettier and calmer waters. The best places to sunbathe, swim and snorkel were on the East coast. Kalithea, Faliraki, Tsampika Beach and Lindos are all beautiful and glorious beaches. Tsampika beach is by far the best place to go for snorkeling. Lindos has the most to do and wider variety of restaurants.

Overall, the hotel rooms are basic, the staff are friendly and helpful, the planes do go by often during the day but not at night, the local town is quiet and simple but very close to the Rhodes town which is much livelier with plenty to do.

Arrived at hotel, was given keys to room, when found it, the room wasnt even cleaned . beer bottles ,dirty sheets everywhere.Got another room ,very very small, overlooking pool, which was dirty, you could see the skum floating on water, dirty green matting all round pool, dont know how anyone can swim in it.The noise and smell from the planes coming into land right over the hotel, you could nearly touch the planes, the smell of the fumes from the planes was giving me sore throat, after first day.The room was not clean the bed sheets were stained and old, the toilet and shower disgusting, would not recommend to anyone with kids,as i would not let my kids go near the pool,The hotel is in middle of what i would describe as a housing scheme,After 2 days we left and went elsewhere,

You only get what you pay pay for..
It's basic but clean. If you want something a bit more upmarket then pay for it and stop moaning!. The pool was clean as was the pool area. We were lucky enough to meet Joanne and then Clair in the same week. So helpful and friendly. Locals were great too. If you like planes your in for a treat! My mum and I had a great time watching them whilst on the sun loungers and an even better time in the apartment.. It was a real novelty. Only a few through the night and after the first night it really didn't bother us. The town and Beach was easy to get to and really beautiful .. I will definitely go again.. Kremesti is a lovely place and I'd definitely recommend it..

Room Tip: Pool view for sun in the morning. Sun is on the back of the hotel in the afternoon.

We arrived 23/08/12 and took a taxi from the nearby airport which costs €11 (by bus it is €1.60 each). This is quite a nice basic hotel 5 minutes from the main street and 5 minutes from the shingle beach. You do get used to watching the planes come in off the sea and flying right overhead to land. Our room (6) had a great view of the pool and there is an outside circular staircase down to the pool. We paid an extra €5 per night for the air conditioning as it was so hot. The pool is great and the cleaner came in to do our room almost every day. Clare is in charge of the poolside snack bar from about 9.30 to 5.30 and she can help with enquiries and translation with the owner. Claire told us that the owner charges €350 per month for the long term residents. There is a supermarket almost next door and the owners are very friendly.

The bus to Rodos (Rhodes town) is €2.20 and it is a must to walk around the old town.

The hotel could do with a lick of paint and some new poolside sunbeds etc but on the whole it was a quite inexpensive and comfortable place to stay.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view

I recently returned from a holiday in Kremasti, on the island of Rhodes, Greece. My friend and I stayed at Margaret studios. To be honest with you, it was one of the best holidays ever. Our room was lovely, and we had a pool view which we werent expecting, hence we were delighted with that. What i really love about Margaret studios is that alot of Greek people are around the hotel, so we were provided with the opportunity to interact with the locals, who are the lovliest people in the world. Alot of the people i met at the pool bar are resident in Kremasti and i was so jealous of them!!! We were there from 14th till 20th Aug. We deliberately booked those dates because those were the local festival dates, and the festival was just so AWESOME. It was very Greek. We did travel to Rhodes and go on 3 boat trips!!! Yes, we did spoil our selves rotten. The lady who ran the pool bar at Margaret studios was Claire. She was AWESOME. I loved her and her Greek family. There is only one thing wrong with going on this holiday....... when you get home you will get the holiday blues....... lol. Margaret studios also rent apartments out on a 12 mth basis, 250 euros pcm. If i can get myself organised then i will rent an apartment, and sub let it too. Oh, i forgot to mention Tommys bar, the only British bar in Kremasti!!!! Loved it. Actually, what i love about it is that the islanders, ex pats, Greek kids etc all go there, its not the stereotypical British bar. Its so much fun and its cultured. I dont like returning to the same destination because i like to see different places, but...... i will be returning to very sunny Margaret studios in Kremasti.
