“just return from Bayside”
Reviewed 31 May 2013

The resort didn't impressed really. The place is quite isolated, without many possibilities of visiting. It must take a bus for Rhodes town (the bus station isn't far from hotel), there is one travel agency who make the trips in certain days. The room are clean every day, change of towels one time in seven day !!!, but the space is big, there is a little kitchen with some tools. Mostly of the rooms have sea view, sea garden where is a snack bar whom they didn't open yet. The hotel is a self catering, but if you ask at reception to prepare dinner, that possible at the reasonables prices. The service is quite slowly, in all the problemes, but they are politely. The beach is to 10 m to the hotel and there are sunbed and umbrella, 3 euros/ entire day. It's pebbly and is necessary to wear speciales shoes, who can buy 6.50 euro at supermarket ''Anastasia''. There are also two pools, one for adults and one for children. In the midlle of the pool there is a bar. It's closed at this time. Many planes all the day landing and the last about 23,00. Must have ears plags. Anyway, can be a good place for relax, most of tourists are couples of english senior or young russian familly with little children. One restaurant-bar, Ideal, offer live music during the dinner. Prices are ok. I recommand this hotel for reposal, to stay restfulness seven some days. There are many people who return year after year at the same hotel. For the surroundings it's more easy to rent a car. Lindos Acropolis worth the trip. Be carreful with the hundred of stairs. Must go there in the morning because is very hot. All in all it's a bugdet vacation and don't forget this !

Room Tip: looking for sea room, first or second floor, room number 58, 62

This is not an easy review to write but I feel it necessary to inform people that are similar to ourselves for whom it may not be suitable. We arrived late at night and we had to wait about 10 minutes for the lady to finish her shopping at the supermarket before she came over and checked us in. Being self catering there was nothing in the room such as milk , water etc but we were allowed to help ourselves to some bottled water from the fridge. On doing our usual walk round the resort on our first full day there we were surprised to see how dead the resort was and the hotel in general. We had a walk round and we weren't overly impressed, it all seemed too quiet for us and the beach area was not great either. In our three days there we only saw one other couple round the pool. The bar over the pool was not open which was a disappointment to us as we had loved the look of that on the pictures on here. I think it was just a case of wrong resort, wrong hotel for us, just too quiet. We are by no means party animals (anymore!) being aged 36 & 41 but we do like to be sociable and talk to other guests. There was just no atmosphere here. I'm not even sure if there was any food available or even a normal bar where we could get a drink, and there was no information in the rooms. I'm sure they would have told us if we'd asked but some basic information in the rooms would have been a good idea. I do feel I need to mention Nevi on reception though who was very helpful to us by providing us with bits and pieces that were missing from our room such as a hair dryer, glasses and a plate, she looked really worried when we left too and I felt a bit bad but holidays are precious and you have to make the most of your time on them. The aircraft noise was very loud even for us and we're not usually bothered by that kind of thing and the pillows were rather hard! We ate and drank at the nearby Emerald Hotel where there were other guests and lovely staff, the food was excellent there too.

Dear Friends,
Since opening the doors to Bayside Hotel, we have always done our very best to provide for guests a vacation that was as pleasant as we could possibly provide.
We appreciate that the internet is a method of you telling us your experience and we are pleased to see that most of our guests have truly had a great vacation. We also do notice that some guests have not had the best experience and we have taken a great deal of time to read and analyse comments.Primarily, the issues have been food related and we believe that some guests expectations may have been above the economics of what the guest pays in total for their vacation that includes air fares, hotel and food. One guest summed it up well. She paid GBP280 for a short break and she was apprehensive as to what hotel she would find. Her expectations for the money she paid allowed her to enjoy a great holiday.
We really dont believe that this would change all the opinions of guests so, last year, we decided to undertake a complete renovation of the hotel that now operates as self catering board and now replaces our previous half board.
We are excited with this hotel upgrade and we hope that our returning guests will enjoy. We woul also like to take this opportunity to invite other guests to come back and give us more opportunity to provide them with an enjoyable vacation.
If there is one comment that stands out, it is the family service that continues as good as ever so come and stay with us again soon.

Stayed here for the second time. Nice very very clean family run hotel. Basic accommodation but everything you need. Hotel is within 50 metres of the beach set in well tended gardens with a snack bar. Nice pool area. Helpful friendly staff with excellent knowledge of the area, take their advice on good restaurants. This is a quiet part of the island entertainment wise but the aircraft do pass overhead very frequently and the runway is quite near! Having said that you do get used to it and the place has many returning holidaymakers. A bit of a marmite resort Kremasti you either love it or hate it. We have been going there for years, no lager louts here, mainly families or middle aged folks like us! Sunbeds 3 euros from Dimitri on the beach in front of the hotel, bus service quite regularly at the top of the road. Food is good value from the snack bar and Zorbas taverna quite near the Bayside offers fantastic Greek cuisine as well as a full and varied English menu. Get a sea view room if you can. All in all a good place to go to just relax and have a nice restful week with the option to visit other parts of the island if you want. Two weeks here perhaps too much quiet! Put the watch in the drawer, get your sun cream on and enjoy!

Room Tip: Side sea view or sea view rooms are cooler

The Bayside is run by a family that has returned from Sydney Austrailia, we visited here 8th September 2012 for two weeks. All the staff were friendley, and the premises ware clean. There were one or two things that needed repairing, but nothing dangerous, and as this was nearing the end of the season it was to be expected. The only downside was there was not enough self catering equipment, e.g no sharp knife to cut an apple or slice a loaf of bread, but we were able to buy anything required from the local supermarket, at very reasonable prices.

We booked here to be away from the 'madding crowd' and got exactly what it says on the tin.
No tavernas constantly trying to get us in to eat, no crowds, no time share salesmen, no beggars, no queues, no disco's.

There were approx 4 restuarants to eat in, but only the only one open before 5pm was the 'Ideal Bar' who also put on nightly entertainment, where the others did live entertainment once a week. In the full two weeks we only went to the entertainment at the ideal bar on our last night, a great night was had by all. This is not a greek taverna and caters for everyone of all nationalities.

We enjoyed lazing by the pool doing 'nothing' but reading & relaxing, with a short break in the afternoon to walk up the beach road approx 1km to 'Tassos Place', which was basically a greek caravan serving basic meals & drinks with a few tables and boards over the pebble beach to the shoreline, where you could sunbathe in temperatures of 30 degrees+, but the cooling wind made sure you did not get to hot. Although for the more hardened of people there was wind breaks there to stop the wind if needed. You could also watch the 'Air Riders' or kite surfer's, there were some brilliant displays.

We went for a totally chilling holiday to rest and relax, and this is what we got as there is 'nothing' there, and this is how we liked it. We did go on various walks, but came home rejuvenated.

We will be booking to go again next year.

Have stayed in Kremasti a number of times before with my family and we really enjoy the location for it`s typical traditional Greek village atmosphere. If you want something more lively and aimed at the tourist there are plenty of bars, resturaunts and shops in nearby Trianda or further afield Rhodes town.

The Bayside is in a lovely location on the seafront, we were lucky to be given room 58 which overlooks the gardens and sea beyond, the views from the balcony were awesome and would cost double what we paid further along the cost in Ixia.

All accomodation in Greece is basic, but the facilities @ Bayside are kept spotless, not just the rooms but the poolside area, gardens and main bar and reception area. The cleaners do a fabulous job every day to maintain the cleanliness.

Each room has a sink, fridge, two hobs and a kettle for basic cooking if required. The bathrooms have a shower, sink & toilet and are kept spotless. The air conditioning units (if you choose to purchase @ 50 euros per week) are very effective, and can be left on all day to keep the room chilled (a welcome retreat in August temps).

All staff were very helpful and very welcoming, when we arrived @ 11pm, Eireen checked us in and we where taken by Nick to our room ( he would have carried all our bags and suitcases if he had enough arms) he showed us into our room and made sure we knew where everyhting was including aircon system.

I have to recommend the English breakfast from Steve`s snackbar (in the grounds near the beach), all the food is excellent, cooked fresh and very reasonably priced. Like Nick & Eireen Steve is very friendly and likes to make sure all guests are happy and well looked after.

I travelled with my wife and 14 year old son and we all thoroughly enjoyed the week spent at Bayside, I would thoroughly recommend for price location and the welcome received, we were made to feel very welcome.

Kastraki resturaunt next door is fab, Angelo the owner is very friendly, the food is fab and prices excellent & so are his cocktails.

Tommies bar is a must visit in Kremasti village, the owners are fab lovely people. Plenty to keep entertained, pool, darts, music, internet & telly. Cheap drinks too !

If you go to Rhodes with kids they`ll love the waterpark in Falraki, it`s big and fab, loads of rides and good value for the money - 20 Euros.

Can`t wait to return next year, but it has to be for two weeks (or more!!)

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking beach & aircon is well worth the money

Promised as a 4* hotel with 'friendly' staff, we were confronted with a shabby pool area and staff that barely looked up when we arrived. Yes this was a budget holiday BUT the pictures all used the bar in the centre of the pool as the main attraction. The bar was closed! it was neglected and looked like it had never been opened. Our utensils for self catering consisted of one sauce pan and one frying pan. There was maintenance works going on the whole week around the pool and we felt we were in the way of this. Kremasti is a place where no one goes, there is no one there and nothing to do quiet is an understatement. There were 2 restaurants and 1 reasonable snack bar within walking distance. This hotel is directly in the flight path, 15 mins from the airport and the noise is immeasurable and awful, not something we could get used to!
