What a gem of a place, so much local history crammed into a modest area. There were old memorabilia from old houses such as mangles, clay water bottles, milk churns to name a few, right through to artefacts from the gun running and both world wars. Also a good account of the industries of linen and paper mills and the docks.

An absolute must see for young and old!!!

“Bike show”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2014

So funny! They have a rickshaw down in the main corridor, maybe it was too big to get up the stairs, upstairs is a show with lots of other bicycles. My favourites were the old chopper or the odd tandem bikes. This is all because the giro ditalia race just went through larne the other week.

“Great show”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2013

I was visiting the 'Memories of Larne' art show by Chris Gilbert in their downstairs gallery. Great fun. The Ulsterbus painting was used on the flyer (photo), it was a highlight. I also liked how he'd painted an old cinema onto old newspapers with adverts for that old cinema. This place is well worth a visit, the exhibitions are forever changing. Free entry. They have a permanent museum space with a ton of interesting stuff from centuries gone by. Nice toilet, but u may not see the bin in there - it is mounted on the wall!

“Art show, and more”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2013

Today they have a show of paintings of famous people, Amy Winehouse, John Lennon and such. There's a museum with all sorts of artefacts, I really liked a wee umbrella woven from straw. The place is free, has a nice toilet, and there's a lift inside and a chair lift thing to get you up the front stone steps if you need it.
