We have just returned from our third visit in a row at the odessa. We recieved the usual friendly welcome from reception and offered a refreshingly cool drink.
The room ,recently refurbished, was imaculate and was kept that way, well done cleaners!
The lobby area is very pleasant and comfortable with a nice bar.
All the staff we came in contact with were smart, pleasant, helpfull and efficient.
Both restraunts are very nice with a good selection of food of all nations, however the hot food, particulally at dinner was not as hot as should have been.
The pool area is quite nice but the sunbeds especially on the grassed area are in drastic need of replacement.
We didn't see much of the entertainment so can't comment.
The hotel is situated in a very convenient position for beach and shops, bars, restraunts etc.
Overall a wonderful holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return to or recommend the ODESSA.

Room Tip: Try not to be placed above SOFA SOFA bar

We stayed for a week in early October and to be honest were a bit disappointed. This is not a 4 star hotel. A 3 staf??? Not even that. Service in the restaurant was slow, Food was luke warm and desserts were the same thing every night. Holes in the carpet were a trip hazard and the room used for breakfast and lunch were not that clean. Fruit juice was disgusting and watered down and if you don't enjoy smoked bacon and smoked savaloy style susages for breakfast, tough! A dose of food poisoning didn't help, neither did the cockroches in the bedroom and around the outside of the hotel by the pool. The whole place needs updating, it all looked very tired. The bedroom wasn't too bad and the bed was really confortable. Most staff were helpful but it's not enough to make me want to go back. While I would go back to Cyprus, I wouldn't go back to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Get a sea view and not a room that is opposite the hotel next door as their entertainment was very n...

My husband and I have just returned from a two week holiday in the Odessa Hotel. The hotel was first class apart from the sunbeds, they really need to be renewed to provide the comfort expected by guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. More suitable music would be appreciated by retired couples eg. relaxing music, not too loud. We would like to return to the Odessa some time in the future.

Room Tip: Room 343 was excellent on the third floor. Lots of sunshine and very comfortable beds.

This hotel is in the heart of Protaras with the beach 100m away & the strip the same. Its a modern hotel with a outstanding reception area with sea views & with outlets for Sofa Sofa & Costa Coffee next door.
On arrival we were offered free juice drinks, which was much appreciated. we were very impressed with the room from first glance, as it has a big & modern look with super comfty beds. The rooms also have safe (22 euros for a fortnight) Fridge (28 euros a fortnight) & a Kettle with tea & coffee provided. The meals at the Odessa can not be faulted - the food is excellent & the staff are very efficient (a bit to efficient actually). One waiter inparticular Andrej is a lovely person who went out of his way to make sure everything was okay & made us feel special.
There were a few negatives such as: air-con in room the cover was so dusty & black; the toilets in the hotel were not 4 star class & the plates & tables were cleared too efficiently.
Protaras itself is a typical resort that you could find anywhere (had a nice church & few nice shops, bars thought), but nearby resort were nicer; even Ayia Napa - had a monstary, church & a impressive harbour. Lots of nice beaches in the area too; we visit Konnos Bay which was wonderful.
Overall we had a great holiday & the hotel is very good & with a few changes would be very classy.

Room Tip: The water is safe, so ask for glasses of water with your meal & ask the bar staff to fill up you...

Just returned from 2 weeks AI at Odessa and personally I would not put this as a 4 star, maybe a 3 star but not a 4
The hotel itself looks quite impressive when you enter the large lobby area we arrived about 11.30pm and the staff were very helpful and the cold drinks served while we waited to check in were appreciated, check in itself was quick and efficient.
We had rooms on the first floor so no stairs to negotiate and if we had wanted one of the staff would have helped us to the room with our bags.

The room itself was clean and the beds were the most comfortable I have slept in abroad!! Some of the furniture could do with updating as it looked a bit old but to be honest I don’t go away to stay in my room and as long as it is clean (which it was) and has a bed to sleep at night (which it did!) and a decent shower then I am happy! The room also had a Fridge which you had to get the Key from reception for which is included in the AI but 2 of our party were charged 26Euro for the fridge but after a word with the manageress the money was refunded and an apology received.

I was in room 125 which overlooked the pool and veranda and the infamous Sofa Sofa bar and on the both Saturday nights I was there I had a note under the door saying a “private function” was taking place which could go on until the early hours of the morning..... 4.15am on both Sunday mornings the music was still pounding and this was a nightmare and there were several people complaining, in my opinion there should not be this type of establishment attached to a “family” hotel.

Another member of our party was in an adjoining room to me and she found it quite difficult to breathe due to the heat generated when the sun shone onto the glass fronted balcony (it was like sitting in a greenhouse) but after speaking again to the very friendly manageress the room was swapped to one the other side of the hotel.

I was a little bit disappointed with the facilities for guests such as toilets as there were only one set of toilets (situated by the calypso restaurant) which were not really sufficient for the size of the hotel.
The pool area could do with some updated sun beds and tables but overall was quite pleasant.. I did however stop going into the pool after I saw the cleaning staff one morning filling their mop buckets from the pool in order to clean the restaurant floor (4 star??)

The veranda area was very pleasant to sit on and have a couple of drinks although some of the furniture there could do with updating, and the one member of staff working behind the bar (Nina) was left to do everything such as getting ice from the pool bar or having to go somewhere else to get more stock so quite often you would be waiting a while to get served but when you did get served it was always with a friendly smile, more staff on this bar would certainly be a benefit.

The food was all well cooked and replenished often and there was always something to eat.

According to all the information I had there was a dress code in the Calypso Restaurant for evening meals (no ¾ trousers etc) but some guests ignored this and the staff didn’t say anything to them I thought for a 4 star hotel this should have been enforced.

Dimitirie at the pool bar is a complete star and kept all the guests entertained from breakfast time right throughout the day, some of the other staff could do with taking lessons from this guy, Some of the waitresses in the evening really need to learn how to smile!
The service from the staff was overall very good (a little bit slow in the evenings) only one or two minor problems such as wrong drinks being brought to the table but after a quick word with Andreaj (who seemed to be the head waiter) things were sorted so not really a problem.

The biggest let down of the 2 weeks was the “entertainment” during the day there was the usual Water Polo Killer Pool/Darts and so on and this was really quite sufficient but the evening entertainment was in my opinion dire, I do not expect a top class show that everyone will enjoy every night of the holiday but I expect more than quizzes and singers that can’t sing! We went out every night of the holiday and fortunately the hotel is close enough to the bars to find decent entertainment (The Rising Sun Pub is a must!)

The flights in and out were possibly the most boring ever, we flew with Thomas Cook and for the 4 ½ hour flight there was no form of entertainment unless you class the cabin crew asking you every 5 minutes (possible exaggeration on the time but it seemed like this often) if you wanted to buy something or donate to charity!!

Overall I enjoyed my 2 weeks at the Odessa and would definitely recommend Protaras as a holiday destination but for the money it costs to go AI to the Odessa I am sure there are better hotels.

Just back last night from 2 weeks at the Odessa Beach Hotel. In our opinion, this hotel is good value for money. Our room was lovely, clean, bright and spacious. The food was plentiful, with loads of choice for adults but did feel food to suit children's tastes was limited. The staff were very helpful in general, exceptional service in particular from Dimitrai in the pool bar and Adrian in Entertainment. There was a very ignorant female bar tender who worked in the poolbar during the day, she was very rude and unfriendly. The pool is a good size, doesn't get too busy in October but was very cold! Overall we think this hotel was good value for money and would definitely return again.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny. Rooms situated away from Sofa Sofa bar are much quieter.
