“Thank you Mr Nikolas!”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

We wanted a good Cypriot restaurant for our last meal in Protaras before catching our plane back home and selected Nikolas Tavern, after walking along the main street and looking at a variety of other places. And we were so happy to have selected Nikolas' tavern! A warm welcome, a menu with a large selection of dishes, excellent recommendations by our knowledgeable waitress, and many additional dishes which were offered to us just for the tasting. And then Mr Nikolas himself, going from one table to another, making sure we were happy with our meal, greeting everyone, even people on the street who must have tried his place a few days before. Nice memories to take back home!

The traditional Cypriot food served here is outstanding and the staff are very welcoming and friendly - lovely to meet the chef as he came out to see if we were enjoying our meal. Highly recommend this restaurant!

“Authentic Cypriot food”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Unfortunately we found this restaurant at the end of our holiday, the food is delicious all locally sourced meat and fish. The host is a real pleasure and so enthusiastic about his food. We didn't order starters but were given a huge plate of salad and various dips and bread, I had the lamb chops, which were huge and beautifully grilled, the house wine was good too. If you're looking for some authentic Cypriot food you will not be disappointed here.

“Fantastic food with a side order of genuine hospitality”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 via mobile

Have been to this authentic tavern twice during our stay & plan to go back at least once more.

The first night served us up a meat meze that took our taste buds (and bellies) through a sensual journey around some of traditional dishes of the island. From the beef stifado through to the lamb kleftiko and handmade keftedes, each dish that was brought out was more fantastic than the last..

One second visit, the fresh (hard to find) lamb chops were melt in the mouth, bone licking varieties that left us so full there was no need for dinner that same day.

Sitting under the vine covered terrace next to the real clay oven was a delight.

The owner Nicolas is vvery welcoming & the service is fantastic - everything is served with a smile or a bit of laughter.

Would highly recommend if you are looking for an authentic food experience at a great price!

“Good Value For Money”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

We went with friends, what can I say portion sizes are absolutely huge, a little to much to be honest, infact I felt defeated before I started so make sure your hungry when you go.
In saying that the food was very tasty and good value for the money, house wine was very nice and the service was good.
