We have just returned from a two week stay at the Flora Apartments in Protaras. We were slightly apprehensive as the price was very reasonable compared to lots of the other hotels. We were pleasantly surprised as the apartment was spacious and clean. There was only a tiny pool, but that was not a problem as you was allowed to use the all inclusive pool at the sister hotel, which was only a stones throw away. However, the problem began when it was time to go to bed. We would get in at approximately midnight, sometimes slightly later, and thought that the noise would probably start dying down around that time. How wrong I was as it got so much louder! If you are put in to room 106 do not even bother to unpack - just refuse to stay there. The room was right next door to The Greenery, which is an irish pub. I think that the owner thinks that he is running a nightclub rather than a pub. The music was so loud that your pillow would vibrate. What made things worse was that around midnight the kareoke would start. It was so loud that you felt as if you was in the middle of the bar yourself. We put up with it for several nights, thinking that it would get better or we would get used to it, but it just got worse. In the end we complained to the manager and managed to get two one bedroom apartments rather than the two bedroom one that we had originally booked. The new rooms were still very noisy but you could cope with it. I would like to warn people as when we booked our holiday it was classed as 'Ideal for families and couples' There is no way that this hotel should be advertising this. If it was advertised for the young and lively it would be perfect for them, as the daytime is very quiet. . The apartments themselves are fine, but if you want to sleep before 3 a.m. do not book this hotel!
