“what was once a charming fishing village has now been spoilt by mass tourism”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

Fig Tree bay when it was less crowded with beach umbrellas and loungers used to be a delight. You could just drop a bag on the fine sand and walk into the lovely warm waters. Then when you were hungry you could find a decent beach side restaurant serving simple but delicious local cuisine.
Now it is packed with tourists like ants on the beach, even in mid-October when we visited it.
Local cuisine has given way to spaghetti bolognaise, pizzas and Macdonalds. But the thing that stuck in my craw was the the ye old Stonehenge pub, complete with artificial stones! In Cyprus? How crass can you get. The local planning authorities should not be allowing this type of development.

“Great Beach Bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2013

If your at Fig Tree Bay then you must visit Zefkas George Beach Bar. There are two places owned by the family Zefkas and this review is for the actual Beach Bar part not the Resturant next door as I have yet to eat there. However if it's a good breakfast or a nice lunch if your coming off the Beach then this is the place to go. The Staff are brilliant, friendly and will have a good laugh with you if you want it. Zannetos (Zefkas) the owner is the smaller guy who always wears a white top as opposed to the other staff who have red shirts. He is a top guy and will welcome you with a smile and ensure you get great service and food. The place is spotless and views of Fig Tree Bay are stunning!!! A must if your down at Fig Tree Bay Beach!!

“Breakfast at George Zefkas and sons cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

beautiful setting looking out to the sea, very friendly staff and reasonably good price for breakfast, recommend the breakfast special for roughly 5 euro you could have full english breakfast, toast and preserves orange juice or coffee and tea. However they also serve lots of different cold and hot snacks during the day and cocktails.

“Lovely setting, food and service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013 via mobile

After completing the coastal path walk from Penera to Protaras we chose the Fig Tree Bay for a spot of lunch. My wife had a Sea Food Salad for starter which was very nice and her only complaint was there was a bit to much seafood sauce and she would have been better to have asked for that separate. I had a Tuna Salad full of tomato, cucumber, onion and lettuce and plenty of tuna. This was served with a basket of bread. For a main we both had a Spaghetti Bolagnese which was also very nice. We washed this down with a nice white wine and bottle of water and the cost just under 40 euros. The service was very attentive and friendly and the whole experience very nice. We will definitely go back

“safe and clean”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013

Fantastic beach, very clean, blue flagged, watched over by lifeguards, but very safe sandy beach for children and adults, a good 50-60 metres before the water gets deep, they have built a very nice boardwalk alongside the promenade, so easy access to beach, toilets and many beachside café/ restaurants, nice walk in the evening, well lit and safe.
