“Fantastic Hotel, Fantastic Wedding”
Reviewed 26 June 2010

We were married at the Grecian Park on July 6th last year and as we have just booked to return we thought it high time we posted our review. We booked independently going direct to the hotel and using the Hotel Wedding planner, Angelos, to coordinate our wedding. Our Wedding was a party of 22 and all of us had the most amazing day, Angelos and his team, from Mary the on site hairdresser to all the catering staff, made sure the day went without a hitch and nothing was to much trouble. Everything from the cliff top ceremony to the after dinner party was flawless, if anyone is considering getting married in this part of the world then I cannot recommend the Grecian Park highly enough. We used Jill and Simon Hack for our photographer and DVD, they were superb, the quality of the photos and the DVD was so much more than what we expected, they were both extremely helpful and professional and put everyone at ease. They can be contacted at sunshinephotography.com.

The Hotel itself is situated approximately half way between Ayia Napa and Protaras, it has all the modern amenities that you would expect, the rooms are luxurious and a good size, the double bed was huge ! The gardens and pool area are extremely well kept with the added bonus of a cliff bar overlooking the bay. The bay itself is directly below the hotel and although a little steep is well worth a visit.

This is a high quality hotel that is a fantastic venue for a wedding, thank you so much Grecian Park, Angelos, Simon and Jill, see you all in September.

I have just come back from my brothers wedding at Grecian Park and I highly recommend it. The staff can not do enough for you and are falling over themselves to help you.

The only down side for me personally is as clean as the rooms are I felt that for 5* they should be slightly bigger, however how much time do you spend in your room on holiday?!!!

I have read some of the negative reviews on this web site and while its each to their own I can only speak as I find. The hotel is clean and stylish with great facilities. My brothers wedding was amazing. The ceremony overlooked the bay then we went to the amazing Cliff bar for cocktails then was the sit down meal with food which EVERYBODY loved. After all this we were taken down to the very tasteful nightclub which we had all to ourselves. The guests were all so impressed.

We had one incident at the pool bar when a waitress had mixed up our order. The bar manager got quite upset when we refused to pay for a meal we hadnt ordered. The arguing went back and forth and we refused to pay but he wasnt happy. Any way we carried on bathing and he came to find us, he had realised the mistake the waitress had made and could not apologise enough and bought our whole party cocktails!! Whilst he had been in the wrong he could have left it as it was but he didnt and came to apologise and not only that but brought a round of drinks. Can not fault that really.

Overall a perfect holiday did not want to come home and I will definately be going back.

Stayed at this hotel for a week for a romantic trip with my girlfriend. Ive been to Cyprus before and fully aware the island isnt blessed with great hotels. More tailored to affordable package deals and groups looking for a wild time. I was hoping the Grecian Park may surprise me, it didnt.
The service was poor and very unattentive. Worst one must be the gentleman who runs the health centre who demanded 40 euros deposit for tennis rackets as he felt we would destroy his precious tennis rackets, made us feel gulity for wanting to use the facilitys. Generally the staff seem to have a good time amongst themselves but do not fit into a so called 5* star hotel. If you expect a 5* similar to something like you will find in London or most places in South East Asia then you in for a nasty shock.
So many kids everywhere!! And one family who let their children run around the pool fully nude all the time, whats wrong with swimsuits?
The rooms are just touching ok, although in the airport hotel i stayed in Gatwick had a better and bigger bathroom, The walls are so thin you literally hear everything!
And finally, just because a hotel has ridiculous food and drink prices and a rather nice Lobby area doesnt make it a 5* star.

From the smelly carpet (yes carpet ) of the elevator,to the non air-condition room hallways, and the rudeness of the staff ( especially at the pool restaurant) this was a disaster! We had friends visiting from New York, and we were embarrassed to say the list with our stay in this hotel. The hotels in this part of Cyprus are a joke, and the Grecian Park is one of them. Total waste of money! I will never stay in this hotel again.

I staid in the Grecian Park for 1 night participating a wedding in Nicosia. If I had another choice I would have staid somewhere else. Besides the hotel building is old the service is just old stile: The service team is overstaffed and standing around because it is untrained. Constant excused of somebody-else responsibility does also explain why things are dirt is lying around while a waiter is having a smoke looking at it. The concept of airport-pick up does not exist which means expensive taxis have to be ordered to come from and go to the airport. The location is perfect but the service is poor.

In the hotel here are plenty facilities, a big swimming pool and a bar with a nice sea view but the cleanliness and the attitude of the staff were hardly 5*. I have stayed in better 3 and 4* hotels in Cyprus and 5* Hotels around the World to know what to expect from a 5* Hotel, and the Grecian Park is not a 5* Hotel.

The lifts are far from new and the carpets in the corridors are old and stained.

NO sound proofing, we could hear clearly the talks in the next room and the shouting from the ground floor at 5 am when the clubbers got out of the club (there is a club in the -2 floor and we stayed on the 5th!)

And what ruined our stay was the fact that on Sunday morning we went down for breakfast and left our towels on two sun beds in the swimming poll area. When returning after ½ hour we found two tourists lying on our towels, on our sun beds! They were horribly rude and refused to leave and there were no other sun beds available. When we went to the reception to complaint they said there was nothing they can do! They did not even bother to find us sun beds! As a result we checked out earlier and left extremely disappointed.

We stayed at the Grecian park hotel for 2 weeks in May 2010. We booked this hotel for our 5th wedding anniversary and we weren't disappointed. The entrance to the hotel is very grand (hence called the grand foyer!)
The pool is lovely and the grounds well maintained. Very comfy loungers around the poolside and plenty of space to relax. The staff are very helpful and will put up umbrellas for you and take any drinks/food orders for you.
The views from the pool area and Japenese restaurant are wonderful, the hotel is situated on the cliff but this gives amazing views.

The walk down to the beach is quite a steep one but it is worth it once you are there, a lovely clean quiet cove with cystal clear waters and an attendant who will hire you umbrellas etc. Mikes watersports is also here if you fancy going on a jetski/banana boat etc!

We ate in the Japanese restaurant on our anniversary night, the food was lovely but as with all posh restaurants it is a bit pricey (ideal if all inclusive though as I guess you wouldn't pay extra for this!) We were on B&B basis, I have to say that the breakfasts were lovely and you could go up for as many times as you wanted, all buffet style, but you could choose from a varity of things, cooked/fruit/cereal etc.

The bars in the hotel were all very nice and again the cliff bar gives lovely views across the bay.
We didn't try the spa treatments but there are many on offer. We did use the jaquzzi several times which was very nice!

If you like Italian then Luccias across the road will do lovely pasta and pizzas cooked in a clay oven. Very tasty food and good service. Kafkaras down the road is also very nice for evening meals.
We ate in Protaras a couple of nights, takes about 1/2 hour to walk there as we didn't hire a car! The Flambe restaurant on the corner is very nice as is China town nearer the centre.

There is a bus service that runs from Paralimni to Ayia Napa which costs 1.50 Euro each way, normally runs every 30mins or so. We caught the bus a couple of times to Ayia Napa as this is a bit further to walk. Be warned though that the bus driver will not wait for you to take a seat once the last person has got on the bus, so hold on to the seat as you walk down the aisle!!! The bus stop is just outside the hotel.
Once in Ayia Napa you can go down to the harbour if you fancy a boat trip, there are many to choose from! We did the Yellow submarine which was good fun, you got to see the fish being fed by the diver but also got to go cave diving, although you have to be quite steady on your feet (unlike me!) I got knocked off a rock by a wave and did scratch my legs but nothing major and I still really enjoyed the experience!! The crew are also good fun. You can of course stay on the boat or just snorkel around the cave area.

All in all this was a five star hotel and holiday and we would love to return one day.
