My wife, baby daughter and I have just returned from a one week late September stay at the Brilliant Apartments. This was an excellent time to visit - great weather and no fight for sun loungers! The apartments proved to be an excellent base for a holiday in Protaras - a very short walk from the main strip with all it's restaurants, shops and the beach. After following the advice of others on Tripadvisor we requested, and were given, an apartment overlooking the children's pool / tennis court area - this proved a good decision as these are definitely the quieter rooms but the minor downside is you don't get the sun the small balcony area. The rooms are clean & spacious and the kitchen area is adequately equipped. I found the on site coin operated laundry facilities very useful - we will travel much lighter if we decide to go back. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and all the other holiday makers gave the place a great family friendly environment.
A minor gripe would be having to pay 3 euros for 60 mins wifi access in the reception area but there are plenty of bars and restaurants on the strip that offer free wifi.
I'd definitely keep the Brilliant Apartments in mind for future holidays.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the tennis court don't get the sun on the balcony but they are not disturbed b...

We have been visiting Protarus Cyprus since 1989 and seen many changes in that time. I can honestly say The Brilliant is absolutely Brilliant, we were there from the 8th till the 15 th September the housekeeping is first class, also the maids always had a lovely smile when they met you, as did all of the staff. We were Bed & Breakfast which I can say was great, we travelled with myself, Husband (both coming up for a young 70years and two grown up Daughters, which every one of us enjoyed our time there. immensely Over the years we have done all the usual tourist bit, now the girls hire a car & we visit all the little coves & Churches round about. Back to the Hotel, we had room 202 overlooking Lidyl I can honestly say when you closed Patio doors & bedroom window you could not hear any noise, also the amount of storage you have in the bedroom in great. The place is spotless. no bother with sun beds either. We also through a tip from Trip Advisor visited The Mouiska in Sotira Village which is first class & definitely worth a visit so many thanks to Sarah G from Bradford for the tip. All in all a great holiday, all being well we will be back next year. Forgot to say we were B&b but we had lots of snacks at the Hotel & they were also 1st classs. Just like all the Staff & the Hotel.

Room Tip: Room 202 is massive & no noise from road once you shut windows & doors. Our Daughters had ro...

Brilliant Apartments 15 to 29 September 2013

We arrived about 6.15pm, we requested a pool view appartment by email a few weeks prior to our arrival, which I am pleased to say is exactly what we got. On arrival we seemed to have problems with the electrics, which persisted throughout our stay. We did report this which was initially resolved by a maintenance chap, so whenever it re-accursed I just copied what he did. T

Overall this is a pleasant place, staff are helpful and friendly. The apartments are well equipped, we only really used the fridge (which is the stand under work top style with a large freezer compartment), kettle and toaster.

The balconies as mentioned elsewhere were long enough but not very deep, ideal for 2 chairs and a little table, which has a pop out metal cloths hanger for wet towels etc.

The place is spotlessly clean throughout, I must say we did not experience any major issues with the reservation of sun beds, but suspect it could be a problem during school holidays.

Internet was available, at a cost of €2 for 30 mins, €3 for an hour and €5 for 2 hours. We went down the strip every night and ate at Waves, which was reasonably prices and extremely good value for money, also had free Wi Fi, just ask for the password.

The entertainment is not well attended, we had a parrot show one night, then a singer Tuesday, and then Thursday we have a duo Abba Tribute. The hotel try's extremely hard, but they are in direct competition with the same acts which are being run on the Strip every night, I certainly give the 100% for effort.

People mention the cost of drinks at the bar. I had a Brandy and Coke and the wife had a Cocktail which was 6.50, which was not that bad, but I must say they were not that strong, as they were made with local brands. Pint of Keo 3.50 which was 0.5c more expensive than that down the Strip.

The Tompson team on site are extremely proactive and go out of there way to be helpful. Overall brilliant hotel.

We enjoyed our two weeks stay, and it is possibly the cleanest hotel that we have ever stayed in.

Stayed here during the first week of September and really couldn't fault the apartments or facilities. Our room was on the 2nd floor and at the corner of the building facing the sea, so excellent views out over Protaras. Everything in the room was like new and the bed was the biggest and most comfortable i've ever come across on holiday. The Pool area is spotless with plenty of sunbeds to go round. Pool games were organised daily by Marianna but you were never nagged to take part like you are at some other properties. The Brilliant Apartments location is also excellent with just a 5 minute walk down through Eden to the main strip and where all the restaurants, bars and shops can be found. Another 5 minutes and you're on the beach. If you turn right out of the main entrance to the Apartments and walk up past Ripples and Sfinx bars you will find the best restaurant in Protaras called Anatolia. There's a Lidl store on the side road next to the apartments which has everything you need to stock up your fridge and at a fraction of the cost of the other supermarkets and far less distance to walk. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay and highly recommended for the quality of the accommodation and it's location. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The rooms with the sea view and on the rounded corner sections of the property are enormous as they...

We booked a one bedroom apartment and it was very spacious (there was only 2 of us) they were cleaned everyday!
Great location about 10 minutes to bars and beach.
On the downside the balcony was small and view not great we overlooked a supermarket and had a main road outside window, also the apartment is very popular with families so if kids are not your thing maybe look for somewhere else.
Staff and food are also great

We have just returned from 11 nights at this apartment complex, first impressions were good we were created by a very friendly receptionist who dealt with us very quickly & without any fuss what so ever & with a smile. Our apartment was on the ground floor to the side of the building over looking Lydels which at first we were a little disappointed with but it proved to be the perfect spot. We were never disturbed once by any noise from the bar area if others decided to sit drinking. The bed must have been 7 foot wide & so comfortable it was hard to get up in the mornings. The rooms were spotless as we're all the public areas. My only observation I'm not calling it a complaint was the breakfast menu was always the same no variation, it would have been nice to have a change from bacon & eggs maybe waffles, pancakes, fruit etc. The grill night was very good it was a shame there wasn't more entertainment & the daytime bar area should be transformed in the evenings with cushions & tablecloths etc to make it have more atmosphere. As I said this is a suggestion not a complaint. All the staff were very friendly & helpful even though they seemed never to have time off! Would def go again I we went back to Cyprus

Room Tip: We had room 7 which I would recommend but if you asked for the rooms on the 3rd floor you would have...
