Thirty of us have just returned from our first trip to Cyprus for our wedding and these hotel apartments can not be faulted!!
Absolutely superb! The most comfortable beds in the world and they are huge!!
Swimming pool is nice and big and whilst we were there the hotel was fully booked up yet we always had sunbeds!
Entertainment during the day and shows at night, set back one road from the main strip/promenade which you can easily short cut through a little road also Lidl and supermarket is next door. Reception staff were great, Breakfast standard english plus cereal etc. Really great holiday for us all will definitely be returning :) x

Room Tip: Room one to twenty four were all nice ground floor rooms with terraces around the pool.

Very clean, large apartments, huge bedroom with massive comfy bed. Kids bunks were a little small in the lounge area but we managed well.

Had room 23A ground floor best room in the whole place walked right out onto pool area and could eat/drink on our terrace with goods bought much more cheaply from Lidls (right across the road).

Pool area amazing, large and not over crowed even in mid August. Kids club girls fantastic, my 11 year old son had a lot of fun wtih them.

Thomson reps very helpful and regularly in Reception.

Did the Black Pearl pirate ship trip, highly recommended fun for all ages.

Also did the Big Red Bus trip to Famagusta and Varosha the ghost town, very interesting and informative but take lots of sunblock, gets very hot on the top deck.

Beaches lovely but crowded have to get down early to get a good sunbed. We managed to find a quiet corner of Fig Tree Bay a few times. Also get the bus to "The Secret Beach" can't remember it's name but its a few short stops on the bus, steep climb down steps but they have banana shaped sunbeds that also go in the water, genius idea! Further out Nissi Beach well worth a visit, beautiful clear blue sea and white sand, lots of watersports and music bars on the beach (foam party on a Sunday!!!).

Protarus Strip at night very nearby to apartments, very lively, if a bit cheesy, lots of tribute acts, some good, some rubbish but entertaining nonetheless. Lots of fab restaurants, our fave was Happy Days. Loveboat bar also our fave haunt.

We did self catering as can buy lovely breakfast things in Lidls and even cooked a couple of nice meals in (could do with an oven though).

Thank you to all the lovely staff at the Brilliant and the Thomson Reps and Kids Club Reps.

Superb.

Stayed as a family 18_29th Sept. Had apt on top floor overlooking pool. I can echo what many other reviewers have said on cleanliness, location and friendly staff. Sunbeds never an issue at any time of day. Hotel very quiet day and night. Never seen any evening entertainment. The 1 bed apt was a good size with large TV and free safe but did lack wardrobe space for 4 person's. We had twin beds but some rooms have large double beds and also corner rooms are a touch bigger.Having said that the apt was ok for us. I must point out that our apartment was not cleaned daily and it was sometimes not swept very well when it was.. Not a complaint just an observation.
The pool area is beautiful and kept very clean. Hotel bar prices for drinks were not that bad.
We added breakfast via Thomson the week before we came and wish we didn't because Thomson failed to send the confirmation through so on two occasions we were quizzed about this by the hotel staff at breakfast. I was a bit upset about this because I found it embarrassing in front of other guests..Also on two occasions they bought my son a child's portion out because they didn't have the info from Thomson. Apart from this the breakfast choice is limited but it is of a good quality and we were not disappointed. My tip would be to just pay as you go for breakfast and don't pre book with Thomson because unless you have the full English every day it is well cheaper at hotel.
As I said we never seen any evening entertainment as we went on the strip . On two nights we got back early ish and there was only an handful of people at the hotel bar.I am sure we never missed anything.
To sum up The Brilliant is an excellent base hotel and we had an amazing time in Protaras as it was our daughter's wedding there too..I am sorry if my review sounds a touch negative but I like to say it how it is. I think it's been a little over hyped in previous reviews.. Big question ..Would we return? Yes but would prefer September again..My review on Protaras and some restaurants are separate.

Modern, clean, lovely swimming pool. I went with my 11 year old son, he loved the Kids Club, the Thomson staff were amazing.
Fantastic location, main resort & beach less than 10 minute walk.
We were self catering but ate in poolside bar all the time, traditional as well as English food.

My wife, baby daughter and I have just returned from a one week late September stay at the Brilliant Apartments. This was an excellent time to visit - great weather and no fight for sun loungers! The apartments proved to be an excellent base for a holiday in Protaras - a very short walk from the main strip with all it's restaurants, shops and the beach. After following the advice of others on Tripadvisor we requested, and were given, an apartment overlooking the children's pool / tennis court area - this proved a good decision as these are definitely the quieter rooms but the minor downside is you don't get the sun the small balcony area. The rooms are clean & spacious and the kitchen area is adequately equipped. I found the on site coin operated laundry facilities very useful - we will travel much lighter if we decide to go back. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and all the other holiday makers gave the place a great family friendly environment.
A minor gripe would be having to pay 3 euros for 60 mins wifi access in the reception area but there are plenty of bars and restaurants on the strip that offer free wifi.
I'd definitely keep the Brilliant Apartments in mind for future holidays.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the tennis court don't get the sun on the balcony but they are not disturbed b...

We have been visiting Protarus Cyprus since 1989 and seen many changes in that time. I can honestly say The Brilliant is absolutely Brilliant, we were there from the 8th till the 15 th September the housekeeping is first class, also the maids always had a lovely smile when they met you, as did all of the staff. We were Bed & Breakfast which I can say was great, we travelled with myself, Husband (both coming up for a young 70years and two grown up Daughters, which every one of us enjoyed our time there. immensely Over the years we have done all the usual tourist bit, now the girls hire a car & we visit all the little coves & Churches round about. Back to the Hotel, we had room 202 overlooking Lidyl I can honestly say when you closed Patio doors & bedroom window you could not hear any noise, also the amount of storage you have in the bedroom in great. The place is spotless. no bother with sun beds either. We also through a tip from Trip Advisor visited The Mouiska in Sotira Village which is first class & definitely worth a visit so many thanks to Sarah G from Bradford for the tip. All in all a great holiday, all being well we will be back next year. Forgot to say we were B&b but we had lots of snacks at the Hotel & they were also 1st classs. Just like all the Staff & the Hotel.

Room Tip: Room 202 is massive & no noise from road once you shut windows & doors. Our Daughters had ro...
