The Brilliant was excellent. We stayed for a week at the end of October and loved it, the room (321) was lovely, spotless in all areas and plenty of room. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but that was really nice. The swimming pool area was also great plenty of sun beds available. The WiFi was a little bit on the high side at 3 Euros per hour. Would recommend this great hotel.

Room Tip: No tips as its all good.

This hotel is one of the best value for money hotels we have ever stayed at in Cyprus. We always enjoy our stay here and can't wait to go back. We love Cyprus and love these apartments, especially the sea view apartments. They where newly renovated about two years ago so was a nice pleasant surprise with plasma tv in room, new colours, modern look. Staff are always welcoming and nice. The big pool side is always clean and they have many areas where you can just have peace and quiet away from kids etc. plenty of sun beds. This is certainly value for money and only a 10minute walk to all the busy areas with restaurants, entertainment and shops etc. I love this place however haven't been for past year as we emigrated to Australia this year. Hoping to go back next year or year after. It's always heard to pick new places when going abroad and people always have negative comments about most places as can't please everyone however you shouldn't find issues here. This is a definite must. We usually come here through august or September time and it's scorching hot.

We travelled to the brilliant hotel the 1st two weeks of June. We had been to Protaras before, so knew exactly where we wanted to stay, and we weren't disappointed!! The rooms are lovely and clean, the pool areas are fantastic and the staff, brilliant!! Special thanks to Tracy on reception, the pool bar guys and Holly and Eve from the thomson kids club! They made our holiday :-)

Our fave restaurants were hippocampus and Oscars, try both, you won't be disappointed!

We returned for the 2nd time this year at the Brilliant apartments and was not disappointed. Staff are still superb and very attentive, they accommodated us in a lovely poolside view (as we emailed them beforehand). Our 4yr old thoroughly enjoyed himself in the huge and clean pool. Highly recommended

Went the last two weeks of October. Would not advise going the last week of October as the resort starts closing down & lots of the bars, restaurants & also one of the two banks closed. Where the clocks change you also receive less sun per day. Also swim up bar at hotel was closed towards end of second week & also tables, chairs & some sun loungers were put away!!
HOTEL
Stayed in room 308, a one bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor with small balcony with table & two chairs overlooking the pool & with a sea view. Apartment & complex kept very clean. The kitchen facilities : a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment & adequate kitchen crockery, glasses, pans & utensils. Towels need replacing as they are quite shabby but that would be my only complaint.
Electronic safe in room cost 30 Euros for the fortnight.

The reception staff are so friendly & helpful & are probably the best I have ever come across. They are a real credit to the Hotel. I didnt have much contact with the other staff as we didn't drink or eat there.

Getting a sun bed at any time of the day was no problem but the complex was not full so probably why.

LOCAL AREA
Big Lidl store next door to hotel which was so handy for buying food & booze & washing up liquid etc. Prices cheaper than home. Plenty of smaller supermarkets, along with many bars & restaurants in the centre of Protaras which was a 5 minute walk away. Walk out of front entrance, turn left & first left down road to Eden Square, walk through there to reach the centre & beach. This is where you can also catch the 102 bus for 150 Euros to Ayia Napa & Nisi beach. Nisi beach is gorgeous, pure white sand beach with very shallow clear blue water. Snack bars expensive at Nisi beach-tip-take drink & food with you. Sun beds 2.50 Euros at all beaches we went to. The bus back from Nisi beach is the 101 & stops in front of the brilliant apartments-press the bell on bus once Lidl is in sight!
Beach at Protaras long & sandy, best part is Fig Tree Bay on the right hand side looking out to sea as more sheltered.
Lots of water sports on offer & also boat trips available. We paid 10 Euros for boat trip up coast to view Famagusta & then back along past Protaras to swim off Konnos beach. Good value for money. If you have young children however there is a brilliant Pirate boat that you can get at Ayia Napa which goes at about 10.30 -11ish so plenty of time to get there by bus.
WEATHER
Beautiful. Not a single cloud in the sky the whole fortnight. Some days it could be quite windy & the sea was a bit rough but it was still warm. Came back with a fantastic tan. The sun does go down earlier in the day-before the clocks changed at about 4.30 pm but after the clocks changed, about 3.30pm.
Beach clothes, shorts etc best for daytime. Would advise cardigan or lightweight jacket for evenings & not too summery clothing.

Room Tip: Third floor overlooking pool with sea view.
