4th year in cyprus - 1st time at this hotel which has been the best so far. Amazing size pool , very clean hotel and in a good location.

There is lots nearby to do and being someone who does not like to stay in a hotel the whole holiday i enjoyed once again the close by water park and lovely beaches.

I will be coming back to this hotel!

all the good reviews sum up these apartments, it is the friendliness of the staff that also make this place special, it feels safe for youngsters, the 2 pools are amazing, you are minutes walk from the strip, the hotel is quite at night this is mainly due to it being family orientated. all in all this place does what it says on the tin and deserves it high trip advisor rating,

Room Tip: 2nd or third floor with a pool view, if you email the hotel prior to you going and request this, the...

We first visited in October 2013 & we loved it so much we couldn't wait to return which we did in June 2014 for a week.

I'd e-mailed ahead & asked if we could have the same room as last time, 232 (partly on the corner so slightly bigger than usual & overlooked the quiet tennis court). When we arrived we'd been given 230 which was fine. Although when we saw the room we needed to change as it had twin beds, not the double that we'd booked.

We headed back to reception where Tracey did her very best to rectify the problem even though the hotel was pretty much fully booked. She offered us 324, gave us the key & said to go & look at it first - this pleased us at it reminded us that the hotel wants to keeps its' guests happy.

This room was on the tennis court side but a bit closer to the front of the hotel so some slight road noise was heard when a particularly noisy moped was going past. But it had the massive double we wanted (so our son could sleep with us thus leaving the lounge free so we could sit there when he went to bed) & was fully on the corner so this time we had a huge lounge to go with the huge bedroom. The sunset is amazing on this side of the building. We weren't disturbed by evening entertainment noise either. The balcony got the sun from mid afternoon so my husband would sit out there catching yet more rays when we decided to leave the pool but it does make the room a bit hot so pull the curtains before you go out in the morning.

The kids club was great. Kate & Hannah did a superb job in entertaining the kids & keeping them happy. Our son loved it & them. We used it more this year as he was just over the age 4 & used to being left at preschool whereas last year he was 3&1/2 & had only been at preshool for a month. He even went to an evening session this year which allowed us to have a lovely dinner just the two of us :-) We felt perfectly safe & happy to leave him in the care of Kate & Hannah & enjoyed seeing him around the grounds when they were doing some activities outside.

We used the swimming pools a lot more this year and appreciated how good they were, especially the size of the kids pool. We never once felt that either pool was too crowded even when it was busy.

There were always plenty of sunbeds available although I have to admit that I'm one of the people who put towels out early. This was because I am an early riser & we also liked a particular section to sit (at the back of the grassy area where it's more peaceful) and noticed that the same people would do this also. But having said that, there were always beds with parasols available in this area throughout the day. So even though the hotel was busy it's not necessary to get up early if you don't mind where you sit!

Our son cried a lot when we left, on the plane, when we arrived back at Luton airport, in the car on the way home - he just wanted to stay for a "little bit longer" and is already planning our next trip there - although this will have to be in school holidays as he starts school in Sept and we now have to succumb to the hike in prices that Thompson charge & no free child place!!

All we can say is to book here - you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: E-mail ahead if you require a double bed (massive!). Also request a corner room eg. 24, 32, 33 on f...

Stayed for a week - loved the apartment and pools. Staff were fantastic. Kid's club (Thompson) wasn't great. Food was average and overpriced. you can eat much better quality food and cheaper everywhere else in Protaras

We have just come back from a 2 week stay here for our honeymoon & loved it!
The apartments are spotless, very modern & we had a huge superking bed! Room 334 was on the top floor & I think we had the best views of all, not only could we see the pools but also we had the most fabulous panoramic sea view!
Staff are all very friendly as is Adam the Thompson rep.
The strip is close but not too close that it's noisy, fab choice of restaurants & very cheap. If you are thinking about booking here then do so, you won't be disappointed!
Can't wait to go back ;)

I stayed here for 10 nights in June with my husband and 10 year old daughter and what a fantastic place! The location is perfect. It's a 5-10 min walk to the main strip of restaurants, shops and bars (the walk back up from the strip to the hotel is slightly uphill depending on whether you walk to the start of the strip by turning right out of the hotel or left and left again to take you to the midway cut through). Once on the strip it's another short walk to the beautiful beaches including the stunning Fig Tree Bay.

There is never any worry for sunbeds at the hotel. Many mornings we came down past 1030 and there are plenty around to choose from. There's no early towel reservation panic so you can get up safe in the knowledge you can easily get poolside despite it not being 6am!

We had b and b board basis and this is perfect for those who like sampling the local food. The full English is included cooked fresh daily so no warm buffet. It's simply ordered from one of the attentive waitresses and brought to your table in the outdoor seating area next to the pool. You can even have breakfast at 11am!

The pool area is stunning with plenty of space for everyone. Throughout the day the various whirlpools and jets come on. There's even a seated area in one part of the pool ready for when the jets are on or you can just sit and relax in the sun.

The swim up shaded pool bar is lovely stocking a wide range of drinks and snacks at very reasonable prices including 4 flavours of slush puppies and for the grown ups, alcoholic versions! These are very refreshing in the heat of the day and quick strong!

The staff throughout are very helpful. There's no room cleaning on Wednesdays or Sundays but if you need towels and loo rolls reception can provide these.

The only small thing is maybe the reception staff should have more security in place when it comes to room keys. Our electronic key card stopped working twice and all it took was a trip to reception to get it reactivated however, they only asked the room number with no further security asked for. It was the same when I locked my key card in my room, the receptionist just asked the maintenance man to let me in. I never once felt that security could be breached but obviously this proves how easy it could be for someone to gain access to another room if they wanted.

There is a digital safe facility in the room. Extremely large so big enough for ipads, kindles and other belongings. You are asked not to put in cameras and mobile phones as they affect the safe working but we placed these in here when the devices were fully turned off with no problem.

There are a couple of evenings where the hotel provides entertainment but generally it's an out every night scenario.

All in all I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone young or old. We will be back!

Stayed at the Brilliant in May 2013; only just started using TripAdvisor so that's why the review is a bit late!

My parents (56, 60) stayed at the Brilliant in June 2012 and loved it so much that they returned in 2013 (and have been again this year) with myself (21), my boyfriend (22) and nephew (13). The hotel itself is absolutely perfect. We had 2 1-bedroom apartments between the 5 of us and both apartments were identical with everything you could need for a self-catering holiday. The rooms were cleaned regularly and spotless on our arrival.
The pool area was also always spotless with plenty of sunbeds available even when we came down from our rooms late morning (although it wasn't peak season). The pool is lovely and big so we never 'bumped into people' when in the pool. Myself, boyfriend and nephew had lunch one day at the poolside restaurant which was quite pricey but the food was very nice.
The hotel is handily situated right next door to Lidl which was perfect for us to get anything we needed for breakfasts and lunches. Brilliant is a 5-10 minute walk to the main strip in Protaras/to the beach, depending on which route you take. There are plenty of restaurants and bars along the strip to choose from. We would definitely recommend Anatolia and the Red Indian for food; Anatolia is a little more expensive than Red Indian but the food is delicious - we visited 4 or 5 times during our 11 night holiday! Red Indian is very good value for money. For drinks we would recommend The Love Boat and Sphinx Bar - both very nice.
We travelled with Thomson and attended the welcome meeting but found it a bit pointless, the rep literally only spoke about excursions to do with Thomson which seemed a bit over priced to us! But obviously this is no reflection on the hotel itself.
Overall our stay at Brilliant was perfect and we will certainly be returning!
