We stayed at the Vrissiana from the 13th until the 24th of July. We were a group of 3 rooms from Slovakia and we had a fantastic time. Breakfast lunch and dinner were very rich and tasty and everything was very clean all the time. The staff are very nice and polite. We were lucky as we got a room on the other side of the building works. The beach in front of the Vrissiana was absolutely beautiful. Only complaint is probably some noise from all the bars. We will be back next year.

I have never visited before such a terrible hotel. The staff is very rude and no information was given that there is no parking…we could not find a place to park our car. They just did not care. This is not a 4 star hotel. Very dirty in a bad condition rooms. The food nothing special. The breakfast had no variety and good quality. We paid 120 euro per night and it did it not worth it. I have never visited such a hotel not caring about the customers.

I booked to stay in this hotel for my daughters wedding. There were 3 of us and another 30 people my daughter's guests. We were very dissapionted from the first minute we arrived. We were given a room on the 5th floor overlooking the construction building and was so noisy. The staff were very unfriendly.unhelpfull and useless. The food was absolutly rubbish and not much variaty. Not everything was AI considering we paid £800 per person which we think is far too expensive comparing the holiday we had in sharm el sheik for half of the money and much better service, food ,entertaiment and respecting the customers .My 3 year old grandaughter had an ice- cream and we had to pay 9 euros
which is out of order. She wes AI as well.Or may be she was having too many alchohol coktails so she couldn have the ice-cream for free. The guests of the hotel were not allowed to take food by the pool side but the locals were and weekends was packed. We had ti fight one day for a sunbed which we reserved earley morning and we have been told to go back to our country by the locals who were not even staying in the hotel. Was really unpleasent attitude from everyone there .We definetly wont come back to this place .Not worth it at all WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT .DONT GO THERE.THE SERVICE IS RUBBISH.NOBODY CARES.

having booked this holiday through olympic and at no time was informed of building work taking place next door to the hotel we were shocked on arrival to see this,,having been informed by the night staff that if we were not happy with our room we could change after 10 that same morning..we were then fobbed off by rude reception staff for a further THREE days before we were given a room change..having paid nearly £1400 for this seven day break,to lose three days arguing with reception staff to have a room that we could get some sleep in was totally unacceptable,,nice hotel,,not worth the hassle!

This is an honest review please read!!!
Hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious. The building works are extensive on the one side of the hotel, however i dont feel it causes too much disruption unless you like using your balconies. The work is not due to finish till May /june 2012. If you have a room with an odd number you will be on the buliding work side and any rooms at the rear are very noisey due to Bliss and ghetto bars which go on till 2-3am. There are only around 3 or 4 full sea view rooms available and they CAN ONLY BE BOOKED DIRECT WITH THE HOTEL! dont believe any tour operator that says you have paid for a full sea view. Our REP told us this herself!!
One of our group had to wait 4 hours for a room.
We had several minor problems which began to esculate, because the staff were so unflexible!!! it took at least 3 attempts to get things rectified, which in all fairness they did do in the end, however there was always an excuse and someone else to blame.
The food was OK nothing special ive stayed in 3 stars and go a much better quality. out of 14 nights we prob enjoyed around 5 meals. Breakfast is nice and relaxed and so is poolside lunch. We did experience 2 occaisons where the food was mouldy or stone cold in the middle. The waiters shrugged their shoulders and just offered to change them.
At the weekends you have to have towels on your loungers by 6am or you will not get a poolside bed untill around 3pm. The locals invade the hotel all weekend sunday is the worst as there have been several complaints over the years they have sectioned off about 1 metre of the bar area for hotel guests but will still be served last!!! this gets worse through july into August as the locals break up for summer.
All inclusive drinks are limited you can order a lemon margarita All In but you cant have a strawberry one?
Half the staff dont know how to make the cocktails and just say you will have to wait. Drinks ordered from bar upstairs are totally different to downstairs.
There are 2 bars in total with only 1 bar open at any 1 time and 1 restaurant
Entertainment in the hotel is also very limited and considerably poor.
Safe deposit boxes are charged at 2.50 euros a day.
IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO GET MARRIED WHICH WE DID BEWARE OF THE WEDDING COORDINATOR !!!!!!!!!! She was extremley unhelpfull, rude, arrogant and nearly ruined our day!! They are not keen on you bringing your own wedding co ordinators in, she like to muscle in and take charge and make things extremley difficult.
However our day was not ruined the holiday was ok but i would never book to stay there again or use Thomas cook as neither were capable of excepting responsibilty for their actions.

We stayed here for 2 weeks, all inclusive, with a group of friends for a wedding at the Capo Bay (which may I add is a much nicer and friendlier hotel). When we arrived at 11:30pm we were dropped off at the hotel next door and told to walk to our hotel. So we had to navigate our way through the dark, around the back of the hotel with our luggage to find the entrance. There were 4 couples in our group at that time and after checking in we all made our way to our rooms- 5 minutes later we were all back in the lobby as none of us had rooms we had requested. We spoke to the night porter who was not very helpfull at all. Our friends who were getting married had paid for a front sea view room but were given a side sea view room, we had asked for a double room but got two single beds pushed together with two single duvets, another couple were two ladies and were given a double bed not singles, and our other friends also had 2 single beds instead of a double and were on the building work side. All we were told was to come back in the morning, with no apology or attempt to help. The next morning our friends on the building work side had requested to move onto the other side of the hotel, but for a few days they were palmed off by the reception staff. They ended up moving on the third day after following up several times. We had requested a double matress topper for our beds twice but this never happened and we ended up just keeping the 2 singles rather than wasting our time trying to get the problem resolved!

Considering this hotel is a 4* the food does not reflect this at all. At breakfast the cereals were stale, the milk was warm and the sausages tasted cheap! The lunch was made to order and was very nice, however the portions were too big. Evening meals were quite dry and the combinations of different foods were, at times, quite odd. We ended up eating out by the end of the holiday as the food just did not appeal. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpfull at breakfast, lunch and dinner, so no complaints there. It's a shame the bar staff do not take a leaf out of their book though!

As mentioned on previous reviews, the weekends at this hotel were dominated by the locals! We found out during our stay that the Vrissiana is the only hotel in Protaras that lets the locals use their beach area, pool and pool bar at weekends. The pool bar is sectioned off at the weekends with only a tiny section for hotel guests, the rest is for the them and they appeared to get served alot quicker than us hotel guests. On one occastion we had to wait while two locals who had come to the bar after us were served first!

The hotel in general looks good- the reception and bar area are nice and there are computers for internet access in the lobby. A word of advice, do not use the wifi, total rip off and it only works in the lobby, not the rooms. Use the bars on the strip where all you have to do is buy one drink to get the code for wifi.

The bedrooms are not great, with wall paper coming off of the walls, blood (not ours!) on our duvet, sheets not changed for 6 days, walls and floors dirty and the cleaners do not appear to do anything other than make the beds and fold up dirty towels! The pool area however is lovely- great sunbeds, nice clean pool and beautiful scenery. The entertainers were great- really friendly and we had alot of fun getting involved in games and activities!

Again, as mentioned previously on reviews, the noise from the Bliss bar is very loud! Our room was roughly in the middle of the hotel and we could hear the words to every song until around two in the morning!

Our Thomas Cook rep was not available at the times specified which was dissappointing as we had encountered a few problems with an excursion we had booked. We know for next time though to not buy excursions from the reps as they are much more expensive and the reps are not willing to help once they have made the sale!!

All in all, we enjoyed our holiday as we made the most of what we had. There are alot of pros and cons to this hotel but I wouldn't stay here again as for the money we paid, this hotel does not live up to a 4*.
