Have just returned from holiday and this hotel. Room lovely and view fantastic. Very clean and well kept. Breakfast choice ok and plenty of room for all. Dinner was a wide range of foods to suit all and was nice enough to eat there every night if you wished! Staff friendly and attentive. Price of bottled beers however were far too high and a pint (=x2) of bottled cider was coming to 8 euro's!!!! Local beers were very reasonable. Enjoyed the water aerobics daily especially with Vicky and Phil, great entertainers too. The whole entertainment team, Vicky Phil, Zoe and Landre work extremely hard and it shows in their performances, although they are so natural they make it look easy. Personally for me I would have liked an adult pool where I could have dipped in and cooled off without running the gauntlet of the kids and their toys, although saying this the kids were really just being kids and not doing anything wrong. I normally love relaxing around the pool and an adult pool would have been the icing on the cake. There is really only one complaint that I have and this is to do with the 'outside' entertainment, whereas the staff entertainment is so good the other is NOT, I have to say a couple of the shows were painful to sit through and only clapped when they were finished!!! I thoroughly enjoyed 'The Misfits' as did everyone else but I am sure that if everyone else was truthful they would agree that the Abba Girls were awful and that is being kind, I enjoyed the 'Rock Chicks' the first time but not so the 2nd time, too repetitive, same costumes etc; On the whole I really enjoyed my time at this hotel and can't praise the staff enough, absolutely a credit to the hotel owners. I liked the location and the fact it was quiet after midnight but if you wanted more action Protaras and Aiya Napia weren't too far away.

After reading through all the other reviews on here, I'm convinced we just had a bad room! All the other reviews seem to say rooms were clean - not a word I'd use to describe our room. The wooden floors weren't even swept once duirng our 11 night stay, never mind cleaned. Walls and floors were a bit grimey to say the least. There was a mark on the floor that was there for the duration of our stay. The shower curtain was absolutely filthy. The beds and pillows were not the cleanest either. Rooms in general are very dated and in need of redecoration. Air conditioning was useless, it didn't cool the room down at all.

Meals were sufficient and there was always a good choice at dinner. Breakfast was usually the same selection. Very attentive bar staff in the bar too.

Don't be misled like we were by thinking that this hotel is in Protaras - it's not. It's just outside. Taxi/ bus (5 mins) or walk (15 mins) to Protaras. Ayia Napa is about 10 mins away by taxi or about 20mins by bus.

The hotel is situatied on a nice but quite rocky beach. Lovely pool area, lots of new sunbeds with extra ones even being delivered a couple of days before we left. Lots of activities during the day too, for adults and kids.

Thank God for the animation team, who were hilarious. Landry, Phil, Vicky and Zoe. You should hope they are there if you visit. Also some tribute acts which included: Cher, Madonna, Blues Brothers as well as some fantastically skilled Parrots!

Staff in the hotel were always helpful, and I can see why people return year after year. I'm unlikely to be one of them. Would definitely go back to Cyprus though.

Our original holiday to kefallonia was cancelled due to volcanic ash cloud. So went to local travel agents and told them we wanted to go on holiday-anywhere-either same day or next day. They found this place-so we booked it as there wasn't much choice at such short notice. We decided that whatever it was like we would make the most of it as it was going to be better than spending two weeks in a back garden in Mid-Wales.However,we needn't have worried that it was going to be a problem. In fact this was probably better than our original choice of holiday.Food was excellent, good selection at both the buffet breakfast and the evening meal. The location of the beach side taverna was a bonus-nice setting overlooking small bay and beach. We had a room with a great pool/sea view-only thing I would say is that the room decor was a little "tired".But as we only spent minimal time in our room this wasn;t a major issue.Rooms cleaned everyday.General standard of cleanliness throughout whole hotel was good.Staff always polite and friendly. The animation team had regular activites arranged which you could join in with if you wanted.Certainly no complaints about the weather.temperatures in low 30's everyday.
Quiet location which suited us,but plenty of bars/restaurants/shops etc within a short walkiing distance. The busier resorts of Protaras and Ayia Napa were accessible by bus/taxi.
Hired a car for a few days and visited some lovely beaches all within a short drive away.
Would definately like to return to this hotel, and would have no hesitation in recommending to other travellers.

We had stayed in Pernera before in the 4* Anastasia Hotel so knew the area. Pernera is a lovely little place and has some nice restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel is right on a little beach but we preferred to use the excellent and cheap local bus service to go to Ayia Napa, Nissi Bay or our favourite Landa Beach which is further up the road from Nissi beach and just as beautiful but so very quiet - no crowds or each parties - bliss! Protaras is a lovely stroll away along the new decked coastal walkway - a big improvement on the dirty dusty track we had to walk along the last time. The lovely little kiosk restaurant is still there and we ate there a few times - lovely for an ice cold drink in the evenings too. There is a lovely Italian restaurant in Protaras opposite the Sunrise Beach hotel - really lovely food and the service was excellent. We were half-board at the Pernera Beach but were there a fortnight and just didn't want to eat in every night. The food was very good though nothing special - the waiters were lovely, so very friendly. We had a room on the third floor at the back - not much of a view but very quiet and we got the sun on the balcony in the afternoons and evenings. I would say the rooms are very clean but need a bit of updating but this didn't spoil our holiday at all. The only complaint we could have had is that the beds were a bit hard. The pool looked beautiful and clean though we didn't use it but this is because we prefer to go to the beach.
One of the highlights of our holiday was a jeep safari into the Troodos mountains. We had thunder and lightening and hailstones then came back down to the coast to red-hot sunshine again. The weather was beautiful the whole two weeks, in the mid-90s.
The Pernera Beach Hotel is excellent value for money and is much preferable to me than staying in Protaras or Ayia Napa as we prefer the quiet life. We would definitely go back one day and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting good value and a peaceful location.
