“The Honeymooners”
Reviewed 28 September 2011

Before we booked this hotel i did do my research and looked through trip advisor. Very nice hotel in the brouches and on the computer.
We went for 1 week all inclusive to the Tsokkos Beach hotel which it is called. We arrived at 3:30am and the porter on reception did not speak a word of english and was quite hard to understand, then the room key didnt work so had to go back down to reception and try again.
As we were on our honeymoon we did request that we had a sea view room and a double bed, in which we had 2 singles pushed together. The room needed alot of modernisation done to them as the wall paper was hanging off in the corners of the room, lamp shades broken, bulbs didnt work, toilet roll handle was broke.
Apart from those the room was ok and what we needed it for, the bathroom was clean and had fresh new towels everyday and the maids did the bed everyday, so cant complian on that score. Rooms were air conditioned, and you also had a tv. The rooms which had a sea view, pool view with a balcony, they were lovely and the views were stunning.
Wasnt far from the main strip where all the bars, shops and restaurants are, very friendly people and so much going on. There is a lovely bar there called The Love Boat, which they have entertainment all through the week.
The pool is lovely and was used by everyone as we went 11 sept 2011 and the weather was in the 40's was boiling so the pool was greatful. The sun beds were a bit of a problem as everyone was reserving the sun beds at 5:30AM so by the time you came down at 9 after breakfast you would struggle to get 2 beds together. You dont have to take towels away with you as for 5euros deposit you get a towel for the length of you stay and if you return the towels you get your money back.
The Entertainers that we had in our hotel, Leanne and Malky were FANTASTIC. They start the day off from 10:30ish right up till 4pm, with daily quiz's, water polo, aerobics, killer pool, darts, and then they are with you from about 8-12pm everyday/night apart from Sunday. They were great, made the holiday for us and sooooooo friendly aswell.
The food was amazing we were all inclusive and my husband is a very picky eater, but he eat everything within the restaurant, and you have themed nights for your main dinner from 6:30pm onwards. We had chinese, italian, greek, carvery, indian and there is so much food to chose from. If you didnt fancy anything in there then there is a bar snack menu you could order from and if you all inclusive this is within your package aslo. And they served chips, pizza, burgers, wraps, salads, omlettes and a good varity of foods and drinks.

If you like cocktails try TRAFFIC LIGHTS but they are lethal and i had a bad head the next morning.

We loved this hotel and would definately go back but if the up dated their rooms this hotle would be great.

Entertainment at this hotel was FANTASTIC, Food was BRILL and we would def go back.

Room Tip: Sea view room is lovely with stunning views and your over-looking the pool area also.

Went on holiday to this hotel with my husband it is badly needing renovation thomas cook have a cheek putting it in their brochure ,the only thing that would make me go back is the entertainment team leanne and malky if it wasnt for them id be surprised if anyone returned , they worked tireslesly day and night keeping everyone entertained they are true stars whatever they get paid im sure its not enough, if they renovated the hotel and had leanne and malky doing entertainment they would be turning people away, spend some money mr tsokkos!!!!

My wife and I had originally booked half board for the Silver Sands Hotel from the 3rd September 2011 for 2 weeks, but were asked on day of arrival would we consider an upgrade to an All inclusive 4 star Hotel free of charge. ( hotel overbooked which seems to happen alot in Protaras nowadays )

We agreed to this and I have to say that we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I would say it could do with complete modernising, but that would be my only gripe..!!
The room itself 4th floor..seaview was perfect couldnt ask for any better, and the room itself was a good size which was cleaned everyday by the hotel cleaners to an excellent standard I must say.

Well done to all cleaning staff..!!!!

The food in my opinion was to a very good standard. breakfast, lunch, and evening meal could`nt fault them at all. If your going to the beach and your All inclusive at this hotel ask for a packed lunch for the next day ( but do this before 7pm ) .. what a lunch you get too in a cool box....!! Sandwiches, fruit, water, cake.. best I have had yet from a hotel.

The two entertainers there were Malaky and leanne... these two were brilliant...!! very funny couple who kept us entertained during the day and at night with various acts..and the bingo. They were very helpful indeed and are a credit to Thomas Cook... well done.

Great size of a pool for adults / older kids which was always immaculate, with an adjoining kiddies pool. Few sad people who insist on getting up at the crack of dawn and hoggin the sunloungers around the pool, but you get that mostly everywhere to be honest.

The Hotel is in a great spot also just off the main strip and about 100 meters to the beach. Once the bar closes at 12 midnight it was great if you wanted to get some sleep, as people usually left and headed to the bars.

This Hotel is meant to be a 4 star... I would say more of a 3 star which needs a makeover..decor ways, other than that a great place to stay for food, drink and location.

The bar staff... excellent.. Jan ( Slovakia ) the head barman was a gentleman and couldnt do enough for you, along with Alec & Ralinn ( 2 brothers ), George, Maria, Veni and the young chap collecting glasses ( Evian ) who reminded me or Manuel from Faulty Towers.

Very relaxing holiday was had during our stay and met some really nice people. Although during our 2nd week one or 2 people were loud and shouldnt be heard...!! always get them at hotels people who like to be heard ..pains in the a***

round it up... great holiday

We have just stayed in this hotelbut it will sadly be our last. The hotel is tired out and needs a lot of work. Most of the staff are friendly with the odd barman needing the chip taking off his shoulders, the head barman jan is a lovely genuine man. The maids work tirelessly to keep the sub standard rooms clean and tidy. The lifts break down daily without fail! The swimming pool tiles are coming up of the bottom making it sharp and cutting a few feet in the proccess.Food in the restaurant is ok but limited in choice greatly compared to other years according to repeat customers,The hotel had repeat clients who said they would not return again, renovation and value for money being the popular opinion for this.Day and night entertainment by leanne and malky was superb, and they should take a lot of praise for making the hotel seem better than it actually is. The hotel is in a good spot for beach and shops alike, but lets itself down BIG TIME if popular opinion is believed.

I have been to Tsokos hotels before and they all have the same problem the company is making money but is not prepared to spend on the upkeep of the hotels as they own most of the hotels in the area so they now they are going to get plenty of customers no matter what, the hotel was very dowdy and the lifts broke down dally, I found the bar staff were there because they had to, reception found your question an irritation, but the staff in the restaurant were very helpful especially the guy who showed you to you seats, could not complain about the food it was great especially breakfast.

stayed 13th aug till 27th. arrived late evening booked in no probs. got a slip saying because missed evening meal we could get either lunch or evening meal on last day as the all inclusive foor food finished at 12 noon. dont panic not strict.they dont cut off all inclusive bands at 12. either.we had lunch and kids had snacks again b4 bus picked us up on leaving after checking out and no hassle. 1st room was 103 (odd numbers overlook pool) even numbers the road. may be a bit noisy ??? but dont know for sure as cars and tour buses were seen to use road to turn around. 1st night slepped on huge balcony as air con poor. next morning note saying we had to move cos air con faulty. we hadnt had time to report it.they knew already but hotel was full so no probs.room 227 small balcony air con better but sill had better umph elsewhere.safe in room. b4 u hire one check it b4 as ours worked ok for 2 weeks foc. one lift out of order a few times over stay and twice people stuck in lift (nearest reception) we used stairs everytime.alot of sun beds, not locked up but hassle if not up early.1st morning looked outside 6.30 ish sun up and towels on beds 14 of us so im afraid followed suit. dont care where we are as long as together .but sun all around nearly all day so dont really have to select (the prim slot ) although some did. sun up 6.30arm at 6.45no probs.the bed problem was caused as all tsokkos hotels can use other tsokkos pools etc. so oddessa next door which has a tiny pool and poor entertainment (we were told) and tropical dreams (out of front entrance) can use pool. also golden star who arnt supposed to use it did. and locals (not a big issue ) after a couple of days they got approx 15 extra sunbeds and it seemed to cure it. but as usual still had people down at 6 to put towel on beds and coming back at about 11.00. but if u want anything suppose get up early.nobody removed towels.rooms as other people said in need of modenising. cleaners in rooms excellent, i found all the staff excellent. even the 2 bar staff on a night time who people have said never smilled. restaurant staff excellent. food typical cyprus. not the selection of your spain, tenerife hotels but nice.entertainment team good but if u have young uns during day nothing. think u had to be over 12 for darts, then there was killer pool, a quiz, water polo, water arobics (fun) french bowls, table tennis. these varied depending on which day but did have kids water polo on a few times. nightime kids disco, then abba tribute, michael jackson, etc bingo and letter draw . the reps would of got an 8 out of 10 till leanne got it to 10 out of 10.when water polo was on swimmers asked to keep out ot way for 20 mins or so so no one gets hurt. some girls tried to swim through and when asked to wait or walk round threw a hissie fit complaining.they werent even from our hotel!!. she got the mike to let people know what had happened... great!! both entertainers very very good. reception said let them know 3 - 4 days b4 leaving to see if u can keep room on. (id try 5 days b4) as i was there 7am when manager comes on and there was already 10 rooms listed!!. wrote room numbers down said to check back 7.30 on day of departue. 7.30 day even though hotel full . we were able to keep it until 6pm for 25 euros. games room has 3 pool tables 1 table tennis table and electronic games, grabbing games etc.all in all great holiday but decor needs updating
no hairdressers, clossed all time no gift shop, no indoor pool well couldnt find one.AI package -did not include slushes or milkshakes or branded ice creams. oh yes and never any ice cream for sweet in evening meals. but go to pool bar with bowl and get some from there. hope this helps

Room Tip: try and get odd room numbers as overlook pool
