“Beautiful Hotel, wonderful staff, Fab Location.”
Reviewed 21 October 2013 via mobile

We booked the Sunrise Beach as our friends were getting married there. We played key roles in the wedding party, maid of honour and usher. The hotel came highly recommended by the Bride as she had stayed many times, and can say that everything I had been told about it was correct. From the minute you walk in the door to check in all the staff are so polite and friendly. They have a bell boy to take your luggage up to your room. The external appearance is beautiful, and the overall finish of the hotel inside is quite luxurious. The fact that you are on a beach front location adds to the beautiful views.
We were bed & breakfast, there was nothing that wasn't provided. From cereals to fresh fruit, pastries through to a full coked breakfast if this is what you desired.
We also had dinner in the panoramic restaurant and the reef bar & grill. The food was delicious!!
All the facilities right down to the changing/toilet facilities in the pool area are kept immaculately clean.
The beach front location is fabulous!!!
We also ate in Marcello's Italian restaurant which is on the corner to the driveway entrance to the hotel which comes highly recommended.
The wedding was hosted beautifully and nothing was too much trouble for the staff throughout the whole day.
We also took advantage of the Spa, which is located in the sister hotel to the Sunrise Beach, Sunrise Pearl. The Spa is private and upon arrival you have to be be buzzed in so that the locked electronic gate can be opened. We had a his/hers 40 minute destressing back, neck, shoulder & head massage. We were provided with robes, slippers and towels to shower with afterwards. All of the staff are helpful and friendly. And well worth a visit.
We will definitely return to The Sunrise Beach at some point in the future.

This was our 12th visit back to the Sunrise and it didn't disappoint, the more you go the better it gets. The position of the hotel is excellent and although there can be road noise its not that bad, and entertainment does finish at a reasonable time. The hotel is very clean and relaxing its like going home, all of the staff are very friendly especially the reception staff. We must mention Som the egg man at breakfast he always has a smile and a chat and he makes the best pancakes and fried eggs. We only book BB as we like to eat out, but the restaurants in the hotel are very good value and the Italian just at the entrance to the hotel is worth a visit. We always go to the beach but the hotel allocate sunbeds for the guests so no need to get up at the crack of dawn to put your towels on. This is one of the nicest hotels we have visited and we have been to a lot. What makes it special is seeing most of the same staff especially Yiannis at the beach bar who is excellent with his customers and gives it great atmosphere, and Tasos in the upstairs bar who makes everyone welcome new and old, these staff along with others are an asset to the excellent running of the hotel. All that's left to say is look forward to returning in 2014

Room Tip: side sea view rooms are best and 5th floor rooms are quieter.

Thanks to all the wonderful staff who made this holiday such an enjoyable time. This was our third stay at this hotel and enjoyed it so much we would definitely come again. From our entrance into the hotel lobby and to be greeted by Maria and her colleagues makes you feel welcome. The Panorama Restaurant is excellent - the waiting staff led by Neo, the food provided by Ajith. His soups are a real marvel. The breakfasts are very good and Som's smile as he makes fried eggs and pancakes, brightens my day. We met the entertainment staff too, and really enjoyed our chats with Angelo and Valentina (and the dancing!!). Last but not least I have to mention Justine whose personality is an asset to the hotel. Not only serving drinks in the bar but then seen helping out in the Panorama restaurant in the evening. The room was cleaned each day and well presented on our arrival. If you come to this hotel you will make many friends with the staff - their attitude to help and please and be sociable is excellent.

Room Tip: We ask for sea view.

This is our 1st time at Sunrise Beach, we stayed here early October for a week. We had a side view overlooking the sister hotel as on the 4th floor we could see the sea just, but this did not deter us. Room was cleaned daily, staff were very friendly all through the hotel. We could not fault the hotel at all.
We asked for a sunbed on the beach , none were available so they reserved one for us, next day we moved to the beach. We were staying as B& B but we upgraded to half board for 4 nights for the price of 3 this gave us options of using the hotel and 3 other restaurants which we booked in advance, the food in all was great. This also gave us nights to use other restaurants on the strip.

We also used the spa at Sunrise Pearl and had a Thermal Aqua Journey which was good. Protarus is a lovely area and beaches are fantastic. We will definitely be returning again in future.

We have just returned from 7 days at the Sunrise and were looking forward to the 5T treatment. Unfortunately, we were in a room on the side and overlooked the bins and bars below. Agree entirely with the review 'disappointing'. If we had upgraded our rooms it might have warrant the 5T but there was no availability to upgrade as the hotel was full, but expected Platinum to mean Platinum for all the rooms, not just the expensive ones. We felt a bit like outsiders, as all the smiles were given to those returning and there appeared to be many. However, for a first visit to this hotel, we came away not experiencing this special treatment. The rooms were dated (magnolia in colour) with paint marks on the wood surrounded the door frames and the bathroom was desperately in need of a makeover. We stayed for B&B and the food was fine. As for the pool, the old guy tried to put us in the garden but we asked for loungers by the pool, which we got, however they were in shade by 12.30 and we moved to empty loungers still in the sun. My husband had problems opening the shade and went to ask for assistance, after about 10mins he returned with the old man, who it seems had been giving my husband a lecture all this time about not being on the loungers allocated. We asked to be moved to the other loungers and were asked what did we want, shade or sun? I thought we were the guest and he was there to assist and make our holiday one to remember. He did, but not for the right reasons. The swimming pool was beautiful and quiet and we could not wait to try it out. As soon as we took one step into the pool we found out why it was quiet. The water was freezing and I mean freezing. If you put ice cubes in the water they would not have melted. No wonder no one was using it!!! Instead we went to the beach and the sea was an absolute delight. The hotel should invest in solar panels or something as this is a total waste of a great hotel asset. The only time there was activity in the pool was when there was Zumba Aqua or Water Vollyeball and everyone was moving. As soon as these activities finished the pool emptied. This was my first visit to Sunrise Beach and although it is in an ideal position and Protaras is lovely, we will not be returning. As for the restaurants around Protaras, we checked them out on Tripadvisor and the tops ones with over a 100 reviews we tried out. This proved to be very successful. We visited Paladels, Nicolas Tavern (brilliant Mezze), Olympus Restaurant (great staff), Promessa & Promises, all to be found on the strip. We went to Mojito which is No.1 on tripadvisor but this is in Pernera, not Protaras and is about a 25 mins walk along the beach boardwalk. It was well worth the walk, the food was excellent. No matter which restaurant we ventured into we were greeted with smiling and friendly staff, only too willing to recommend local dishes and wines to try - much better than the service we received in the Sunrise. In future we will look more closely at the 5T rating that Thomson's gives it hotels.

Room Tip: If you want 5T then upgrade as the normal rooms are definitely not what you would call 5T

Third time at this hotel & continues to please in all aspects. comfortable surroundings, extremely friendly friendly staff & superb weather. Som makes a cracking fried egg & pancackes. Chara is a fantastic ray of sunshine in the dark of the night at Othello bar. Everyone else also upheld the standards we have come to enjoy.

Room Tip: always had a side sea view & so far no problems.
