Sunrise Beach Hotel

Certificate of Excellence

We've stayed at the Sunrise four times now and each time it seems to get better. The staff are incredibly helpful and always make sure you have a pleasurable stay. We travel with friends and this hotel is great for couples wanting to go on holiday together. The location is excellent with lots of bars and restaurants. The beach is only 10 yards from the beautifully kept gardens so not far to stroll in the mornings. The good thing with the pool is that you don't have to 'bagsie' a lounger as one is allocated to you which you can keep for the duration of your stay.
All in all, this is a fabulous hotel which we will return too for many years to come. We thoroughly recommend it.

Just returned from two weeks holiday at the Sunrise Beach, it was our first visit to the hotel and, as we had read some mixed reviews, we went with open minds, this turned out to be one of the best over all hotels we have visited for a long time. The welcome at reception was friendly and extremely helpful, we had a full sea view room on a high floor, which was requested by us on booking, the room was large and well furnished with a minibar which we used as a fridge but space was limited, the view of the beach was fantastic. The system of booking your sunbeds and brolly on arrival is brilliant, if you need to change position all you have to do is ask and the attendant will do all he can to oblige. We were on a part half board basis originally but after sampling the breakfast and particularly the evening meals we took up the hotels offer of 7 meals for the price of 5 and ate at the hotel every night, the food was wonderfull, the value was incredible as we were having a 4 or 5 course meal every evening, with the exchange rate for the Euro at about 103, to eat a similar meal outside would have cost a fortune each evening. Anyone thinking of going to a great hotel, in a fabulous position with very friendly and hard working staff then you wont go wrong at the Sunrise Beach Hotel.

Just returned from a 1 week stay in the Sunrise Beach Hotel. Previously stayed in April 2006. Since our first visit, the rooms have been refurbished and an outside dining area has been created, which looks out over the sea .
The hotel is of a very high standard. Rooms are spacious and modern with adequate storage. There are no tea or coffee making facilities and to use the fridge you have to get the minibar key from Reception. The fridge is only small but there is enough room to chill small bottles of drink. The best rooms are the front facing sea view rooms, although they do not get any sun from noon onwards. They are quiet and you do not hear any noise from the bars on the main road.
The pool area is very clean and spacious. Sunbeds are allocated to you on arrival, which is great, as it avoids the 6am "reserving" hassle that many of us have endured. You can arrive at your sunbed at anytime during the day without feeling embarassed. Pool towels are provided and you can change them every day if you want to. The beach is literally on your doorstep and the sea is lovely.
Like other travellers have said, drinks at the hotel are quite expensive with a soft drink or small bottle of beer costing about 2.50euro but the bars outside the hotel are not that much cheaper. Guess it's just the state of play with the euro at present.
We were bed and breakfast and have to say that the breakfast was excellent. Vast choice to suit all. Fresh waffles and pancakes are cooked by the chefs each morning. We took advantage of the flexible dining option which was offered to us by reception - have 7 meals and pay for 5. You can eat either at lunchtime or evening. If we had our time over again, we wouldn't have done this. We found the lunches were more of a proper meal than a snack and we didn't really rate the food in the evenings. It was OK but nothing special - there are so many places to eat out, we wouldn't do that again.
There's a promenade been built which goes from Protaras to Penera - nice to stroll.
Overall, an excellet hotel in a fantastic location.

Just returned from 11 glorious days at the Sunrise Beach after returning for a second year running. Everything was again superb, the food, the staff, the towel attendant for the pool, who will change your sunbeds to the place where you want (as once you have been allocated them they are yours for the rest of your stay which is a great idea) if they become available during your stay, the waiters and waitresses at breakfast, especially Anna who is so pleasant all the time and the hotel room. Last year we stayed in a side sea view but this year stayed in a sea view room which is definitely worth the extra. We enjoyed this hotel so much we will be returning again next year. Thank you to all who work at the hotel for making our holiday such a pleasure. See you again next year

Having stayed at the Sunrise Beach Hotel in 2002, my wife and I decided to come back this year, because we knew we could rely on the hotel to give us the holiday that we wanted.
And...... Again like back in 2002 we had an excellent holiday.
We highly recommend the Sunrise Beach Hotel.
We had an excellent front sea view located room.
We stayed at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis and found the buffet menu to be first class, plenty of choice and excellent quality.
I must make a comment on the "excellent staff" at the Sunrise Beach Hotel.
Truly amazing!
They were absolutely superb!!!
Actually we could not fault them in any way.
Also a special mention to the Thomas Cook representative, "Rebecca".
Rebecca was the best holiday representative we have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
The Sunrise Beach Hotel location cannot be bettered.
Set on the beach and close to the shops, bars and restaurants.
Also Protaras is a much improved resort, with more shops, restaurants and bars available, than seven years ago.
And...... Not forgetting the new one way road system and the improved beach walk ways.
Everything a big improvement from seven years ago.
All changes for the better.
Well done Protaras.
We will definitely stay at the Sunrise Beach Hotel again in the near future.
Thank you the "SUNRISE BEACH HOTEL"
A Very Happy Mr. & Mrs. Gunter (S.Wales)

I have been to Protaras many times but this was the first time at the Sunrise beach hotel. We had a very quiet room on third floor sea view and it was lovely. The bar staff were very friendly. I do agree with Northman2 about the weddings. I could cope with a wedding a week but there was at least two a day which became a bit of sore thumb to the regular guests. I know that weddings are special days, but my God i've had my fill of them! but saying that I loved the hotel and couldn't really fault it.
