“Chefs made our holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2012

We arrived on the 30/05 for 14 days. As my wife has an eating problem, We asked to speak to the Chef. For the next 14 days, both Panayiotis (Head Chef) and Isam (Soux Chef), looked after my wife at every meal. They would show her all that she could eat, and if there was something that she liked but coudn't have, they cooked it for her, without some of the garnishes.

Head Chef Panayiotis would go to the local shops to get my wifes milk and decaff tea, and made sure everyone knew that this was for my wife only. Isam was very helpful and attentive to my wifes' needs also. If there was a desert that she liked but couldn't have, then he would make one for her. Sometimes me to.

Stelios (Matre De) was very helpful at meal times. He would meet and greet all the people and show them to their seats. Very polite and engaged in conversation with everyone. All his staff, waiters and waitresses were very helpful also. They always had the time to speak to you.

Daniel (Guest Relations Manager) was a very nice and polite young man. He made you feel relaxed and that nothing was too much trouble for him. He arranged for the anniversary cake for me and helped out with some of the outings that we had. A very hard working person.

Dori and Greg, who are part of the One Stop Entertainment group, earn every euro they get. They entertain adults as well as children continually. They do this with real enthusiasm. Greg organises daily sports events around the pool, while Dori helps with the childrens entertainment. They also always make time to stop and have a chat with the guests. We were very impressed. (where do they get their energy from???)

The Hotel was always kept clean and very comfortable. The cleaners were always very cheerfull and friendly, and also had time to speak to you as well. Always said Calamera (good morning). It would have been nice to have had a double bed, not two together. Other than that, the room was fine. The food was a little repetative, maybe Theme nights such as a chinese night, would make it more interseting.

All in all, I cannot say enough about the staff, Chefs, waiters and waitresses. We enjoyed our holiday so much, that we can't wait to go back same time next year. Since telling the family, they were so impressed they also want to go.

This has certainly been the best holiday we have ever had.

We got married here last October, had a fabulous 2 weeks, if you are getting married here you will not be disappointed,
Maria -the hotel wedding organiser is lovely and on hand for all your plans and questions, we had a Thomas cook rep called Charlie . She was lovely and explained everything to us to help us relax and enjoy the holiday.
There were 20 of us in our party, the food was lovely, the kids mini disco on an evening was good and so were each evenings entertainment, theonly downside is that the all inclusive finished at 11pm which on most nights was a little early, but that is the only bad point
Would defo go back and highly recommend to get married here

Fantastic Holiday, We stayed at Golden Coast Hotel for 10 days, and got married on 8/6/2012
we booked sea view room (218) stunning view, very clean hotel and all staff every friendly and helpful the pool was great for my son and we were only a few steps away from beach. Our wedding was amazing, everything was arranged by Helen our Thomas Cook Rep and Maria at the hotel, they both did everything to make our stay special. We were only a party of 9 and had read reviews that the hotel catered more for bigger weddings, well this cant be any further from truth. I was able to sit back and relax having nails and hair done by hairdressers at hotel while everything was being organised. Our photographer was wonderful took amazing photos which we ended up having them all. Buses were every 20 mins only costing £1 euro to Pernera or all way to Ayia Napa. Plenty of bars and resturants and shops to enjoy. We will definatley be going back next year can't wait.

Room Tip: Must book a sea view room

We got married at this hotel, staying from 18th May for 2 wks AI. Our wedding was a dream everthing we could have wishied for and more. Maria wedding planner and Joanne Olympic wedding rep organised everything, all we had to do was get dressed and turn up. As there were only the two of us they also were our witnesses. We were not made feel any different to some of the larger weddings which took place while we were there. They organised a private catamaran f after our photographs which took us out to watch the sun set. It was a very romantic end to a beautiful day.
The hotel is wonderful made even better by the staff, so friendly and helpful. Its location is beautiful sitting beside a little fishing harbour and also has its own small beach.
The animation staff were great a big hello to Greg, Dori & Barbi who worked so hard day and night.
Just a short stroll along the beach will bring you to the small village where there are some good pubs and resturants if you fancy a change.
The bus stop is just outside the hotel and for 1 euro you can travel as far a Ayia Napa or into Protaras which about 5 minutes on the bus.
The only small annoyance we found was the the length of the que at meal times, resulting in your food getting cool before we were able to enjoy. There was always plenty of variety, meat, chicken, fish, pork and pasta and vegetables. I loved the beef stroganoff we got one day it was
A*
We loved this hotel and hope to return next year for our 1st anniversary.

Rooms basic and in a big need of updating, balcony door near imposible to open and bits of rendering missing from the wall in room 430 but they all look the same.
Food very average and they only replenish once it was all gone creating queues.
60 Russian all rude and only 40 British.
This place is not suitable for young children or disabled peaple, lots of steps and only a though ramps.
snack bar very poor its a small fridge behind the bar with one or two rubber rolls and a tub of stale pop corn
Hotel 20min hard walk to shops and bar

Room Tip: save your money and look for a better hotel this is not a 4 star probably only a 2

Wonderful hotel, very clean we upgraded to sea view room which was definately worth it. Brilliant views. Hotel staff especially in the restuarant where very friendly, along with the animation team who worked very hard day & night. Wedding day went perfectly nothing was too much trouble for our Wedding planner Maria. Only thing to be aware of is if you have guest staying outside the hotel to be careful of how much hotel wants to charge for a day pass we were quoted 19 euros on day but manager tried to charge 60 euros this is just to get into the hotel, we argued our case as we were still paying for food at 42 euros a head and managed to get passes for 20 euros each. Food can be very monotonous, but quality was good. Also take cash not travellers cheques as not even the banks will exchange these. We found a shop in Pernera called Platon who will change sterling and euro cheques at a resonable rate.

Room Tip: Sea view, as many face back of hotel.

Stayed here on the 16/5 for 11 nights. Hotel was very lovely and perfect for a wedding. It has a lovely location, you can walk in Pernera square which has quite a few bars and retsaurants and along the coast it only take about 10/15 mins, if not you can get a bus which is only 1 euro. It is on a lovely little beach with a harbour the other side, but you do have to pay for sunbeds and parasols on the beach as its not the hotels beach. There was plenty of places so sit and sunbathe while we were there. There was often entertainment going on around the pool during the day, zumba, archery, cocktail games, volleyball etc. Entertainment staff are all very very friendly, especially Greg!!! He was very funny and very active!! They had a nice sized pool where they put a few inflatables out for kids every day, and a nice indoor with a jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath. Lovely massage and spa facilities, good gym too! Also had ping pong, pool/snooker and a few games machines for kids. The rooms were nice, quite modern, flat screen tv, good sized balcony, 124 was our room, nice view of the sea. The food in the hotel was of a very good quality but could have done with being a bit more on offer. They had a kids corner in eve with pizza etc. Yes there was a '70 year old man' playing his piano while you ate dinner, but actually it gave you something to laugh about, you just have to take it with a pinch of salt. Lots of people were up dancing so can't have been that bad. The hotel certainly wasnt a prison so dont know what some of these reviews are on about!!! Our wedding was lovely, it was just the 2 of us and we wernt treated any dif to other groups there, certainly wasnt like a conveyor belt. The first choice rep was good as was maria the hotel wedding rep. She can hang your dress for you to get rid of all the creases. Much cheaper to get your hair done with Mandy and Hayley, the hotels hairdressers downstairs. If you go with tui its double the price and not on site! Mandy and Hayley were great (English!!!) and Jordan who did my make up for the wedding was fab. Could not recommnd them more. They have a facebook page where you can look at their hair they've done for people, its all great!! Went and had a lovely meal at divas restaurant in protaras which was lovely and then went to have the sunset photos in cape greco which was worth it. Bar staff and resaturant staff were all so friendly and helpfull. Every day they greeted you very well and as long as you are just as friendly back you wont have any problems, friendlist staff i've ever experienced. All in all this hotel made a lovely holiday, especially for a wedding. Fantastic weather, amazing staff, good location, 2 lovely chapels, shop that sold almost everything!!!! Deff edible meals just could have been a bit more to choose from. Dont listen to the bad reviews,, just don't go paying through the nose for it as maybe isn't as good a standard as some other 4* hotels that i have been to, but i am used to riu chains with mountains of food and brilliant entertainment!!!
