Arrived at night and were a little disappointed with the view from our family room, which in the darkness we could only make out wasteland. In daylight it was just that, wasteland with a little bit of sea view between buildings. We were on the 2nd floor so not ideal for our (nearly) 3 year old who did try to climb over the balcony!!! Also bunk beds were not ideal for young children would have preferred a room with 2 single beds for kids but at the time of booking (8 months before departure) this type of room was not available. The room was clean but basic. That said the rest of the hotel was perfect for families. The animation team were extremely friendly and my husband and brother in law joined in daily with the pool side games and competitions. The animation team were excellent with the kids and we went almost every night to the kids mini disco. The food was good, we thought the selection was good and tasty, with a separate children's food section at dinner. The restaurant did get busy at 7 o'clock is was much quieter at 8-8.30 but with young kids it wasn't ideal for us to go that late. Restaurant staff were helpful and efficient. All inclusive drinks were good, especially the cocktails at the pool bar. Were not so keen though on the wrist bands we had to permanently wear although I do realise why that had to be done. Security at the hotel could have been better, we saw people walking into the complex from an open side gate and using the pool although they clearly were not hotel guests, and their presence was not questioned by staff even though they were not wearing wrist bands.

Room Tip: If you have young children try to get a room on a lower floor. Be prepared apparently all family rooms are in the block behind the main hotel shown in pictures and therefore further away from hotel facilities. But it is quite a noisy hotel at night so being slightly further away is better with young kids.

I stayed at the Golden Coast Beach Hotel in September 2013 for a week. We were very happy with our stay overall, the hotel facilities were lovely but there are some points to note if you are thinking of staying there.

The hairdryer might not be important to some of you, but if it is, take your own! It is similar to a hoover pipe attached to the bathroom wall and broke several times during our stay, when the maintenance guy would just fix it with sellotape.

I was shocked one day to return to my room and our door was left open, I assume by the cleaners, as it wasn't me. Luckily nothing was taken, and it didn't happen again, but we were very careful to make sure our belongings were locked away just in case.

Apart from the two points above, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We hired a car, which turned out to be far better value than getting taxi's. The cost of the hire car was cheaper than a taxi would have been from the airport alone, and we managed to get around a lot while we stayed there. As the hotel is a bit removed from other sights, I would strongly recommend hiring a car. We went for a drive into Troodos mountains (I recommend!) We climbed part of the mountain to Kaledonia Waterfall, a must see in my eyes. Make sure you take appropriate footwear! We also drove to Aiya Napa, Protaras centre, Nicossia (the capital). Pamela, the Guest Relations lady in the hotel was very helpful and friendly and recommended great things for us to do, including restaurants, and we visited them all and were very pleased with her recommendations.

The pool facilities were lovely. As we went in September, it wasn't too busy and there were always plenty of sunbeds. The beach is on the hotel's doorstep, but note that you have to pay for the sunbeds and parasols there and it's not part of the hotel! We didn't know this and after 30 mins of being on a sunbed, a guy came up to us demanding payment.

I would definitely go back to Cyprus, the hotel was great for what we paid.

We have just spent a week at this hotel lovely rooms and cleaned and fresh towels and beach towels whenever necessary. However this hotel caters more for the all inclusive call me a snob but I like to be waited on when having an evening meal not feel like I am waiting for school dinners such a pity beautiful place and wonderful scenery

Just returned from two weeks at this hotel. We chose bed and breakfast because we wanted to eat out every night in Pernera, Protoras or Ayia Napa. Majority of people however were all inclusive. Wonderful hotel large pool and sun bathing area with gardens leading direct to a beautiful beach. The beach is very good for children and adults shallow clear water hardly any waves. There is a fishing harbour and beautiful church adjacent to the hotel.

The staff were very friendly beautiful hotel with all the amenities Health club, bars etc. The bedrooms are large and kept beautifully clean. The breakfasts (buffet hot and cold) were wonderful freshly cooked and well presented. Eating al freco in the beautiful sunshine.

Hotel location is perfect. Bus stop outside where a journey into Ayia Napa or Protoras is only 1.50 euro. We hired a car and the roads are very quiet to visit other cities Larnaca Nicosia etc

Great holiday and hotel

Room Tip: ask for a sea or harbour view

Just come back from a weeks stay at this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. Most people were all inclusive so we never ate there for lunch or dinner. Never saw any menus for non all inclusive visitors. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance though. We have been to this area on quite a few occasions and stayed at various hotels and villas. This one isn't our favourite! Breakfast was okay - could get a bit busy and some holidaymakers are a bit rude if the don't get their food quick enough. Coffee machine stopped working most mornings. The fruit seemed to be straight out of a tin. We had a sea view room on the second floor. Beautiful view from balcony. Room needs updating and could be cleaner. Was a bit grubby unfortunately. There are tea and coffee making facilities in room with the usual sachets but these don't get replenished that often. All in all was okay - you can't knock the area - but wouldn't go back to this hotel.
