Talk about school dinners, and not the Jamie Oliver variety. Everything was the same despite themed evenings, most people put weight on when on holiday but my husband and myself lost weight.
Entertainment consisted of the animation team and gulible holidaymakers, we only had outside entertainment tonce in two weeks.
Too noisy, too many chldren - and believe me we have had children and now have grandchildren - its the first time I have never been in the swimming pool, too many kids, and as for the indoor pool..........forget it.

Everything looked worn out, unclean and unkempt - not a place for the well travelled holidaymaker and certainly not for senior citizens, on a scale of 1 to 10 we would give minus 10.

Too much money for too little.

Because we were situated in the annexe they wanted us to move room on the Monday, before we had to pack to come home on the Tuesday.........
............................forget it.

In a nutshell absolute crap

What a great hotel and lovely holiday, but a let down by the tour operator.

It looked as though the hotel was built in the 1960’s and it has retained some of the original features during it’s recent refurbishment, notably the corridors and bathrooms of the rooms which were magnificent. But what a shame they did not continue this in the rooms themselves. They have laid cheap wood effect vinyl floor, I don’t know why they’ve used vinyl, to the rooms and fitted them out with poor quality and mish mash furniture. Saying that though we hardly spent any time in the rooms and they were cleaned out daily.

The hotel is fairly small in size and there are plenty of sun beds and umbrellas which extend down a grassed embankment and overlook the bay. We chose to sit here as it was more peaceful and secluded from being around the pool. There is a local watersports place nearby but apart from that there is not a lot around this hotel, great for us as we just wanted a quite week by the pool. The pool itself was well maintained and cleaned out every day.

We went all inclusive, which is recommended, although there are a few restaurants (mainly all English), bars and supermarkets within a 10 minute walk. This is not Protaras as some people have noted earlier on TripAdvisor. Protaras is a good 4 miles away, we walked this one day and it did take an hour, and we do not doodle when we walk!! It’s probably not worth the effort walking into Protaras unless you fancy a McDonalds!

Some people have commented on the lack of choice at meal times, admittedly there is less than your usual fair at the larger hotels, but if you didn’t put everything on your plate then there was plenty to choose from each night. We are quite fussy with our food and never had a problem with it for any of the meals. If you do fancy a change from the hotel we would recommend getting a traditional Cypriot Meze meal at a restaurant called Noufaro in the local town centre.

Be warned, if you’re on a package with a tour operator which includes transfers be prepared to be picked up 4½ hrs before your flight!! The transfer time is really only 45 minutes. And then, because the tour operators get about 6-8 departures to the airport at exactly the same time the check in was hectic, in fact we needed the 3 ¾ hours to get through the airport!!

Our holiday was fantastic, 24 of us travelled to the golden coast hotel for my sisters wedding! The hotel was gorg, the rooms on arrival were very clean with sandwitches etc provided! The views from our balcony were amazing!

The food the first week was very nice and they done themed nights aswell, but by the 2nd week it became very repetitive so we went out a bit more for food!

The kids were entertained during the day whether it was drawing or down the beach or water games, they loved it! there was also a mini disco at night for the kids (the same every night) but again no complaints from the kids (aged between 9 and 1) Adult entertainment was fun aswell, the entertainers ....Alan, Vctor, dj benni, cassandra, sonya, jana were all gr8!

The wedding was fantastic, although we left the hotel to go on a yaught for the meal and reception and then back to the pub/restaurant beside the hotel as the hotel was very pricey and not very private. The pub across from the hotel was a gr8 night and would recomend that u try it, very pleasant people, we throughly enjoyed it!

The entertainers were fantastic, we all got on very well with them! Alan, victor, and dj beni....the girls were gr8 aswell! the adult shows were good eg the crazy show, karaoke, n teh night club nite....all good fun!

We got married here in aug 07 and had a fantastic time. We had our wedding in the chapel which was beautiful but only enough seating for six but guests had seats outside and could see everything. Maria the wedding coordinator was fabulous nothing was too much trouble even when we wanted to change the drinks and canape menu. She even managed to get me a wedding car 12 hours before the wedding with no trouble.
We had a sea view room on the 4th floor and it was wonderful to wake up each morning and see a beautiful view. We only managed to get to breakfast once as we are not breakfast people or early risers but it was fine the morning we ate there. Only used the pool once as we love the beach but here were lots of activities going on in the pool from what i could see.
Our room was fine for us nothing too plush but clean and spacious. As we got married there every day we got back and there was a fresh bottle of champagne which when we checked was not on our bill which we thought was very generous. The air con in the room is poor but did not concern us too much. There are some fab resturants in penera our favourite being IL CAVALIERE an italian which superb food. Protaras is only a short drive bus ride or walk it is much more livley but good fun. I would recommend the golden coast to anyone we have such a lovely time.

We have stayed 3 times at the golden coast hotel, you can not say a bad word about anything there. clean, staff excellant especially the restaurant manager Stellaous. the pool is clean, on the beach, all staff are great. fruit and wine in your room on arrival. The hotel is pricey but when you see the other hotels and the food that they offer its worth that extra. We keep going back each year, what more can you want!!!

we stayed at this hotel from 21st till 28th of may for my daughters wedding.what can i say wow what a wonderfull place. she could not of wished for anything nicer. it was a little pricey with one or two hidden extras she did not expect to pay but it was worth every penny. appart from the wedding the hotel was just amazing. it has a very large pool area with loads of room for every one,we had two little ones with us aged 2 and 4 who were never out of the water. the dinning at the hotel was fine to in the evening you were shown to a table and always managed to have space for every one even our group of 10. the staff were lovely always had time to chat and get you to join in with all the activities. we will return again next year.
