“Enjoyed our stay at the Pallini”
Reviewed 25 October 2006

I took my husband to Cyprus for one week for his 60th birthday present on the 4th Oct 06, we stayed in the Pallini apts in Protaras. The staff were all very friendly, the rooms were spacious and very clean. the maids were in everyday except Sat.
Our argo rep was based in the the hotel, which came in very handy to us as my husband had an accident away from the hotel and ended up in hospital 5 days into our holiday, he spent 8 days in hospital. The staff at the Pallini were very helpfull to me and said i could stay as long as i wanted, they were not even going to charge me for the extra time. I stayed with my husband in the hospital untill we returned home a week later than our original date for return.
Our greatfull thanks to all staff at the Pallini and also to our Argo rep Steve whom came to see us at the hospital most days.
The hospital my husband was in was excellent. The Doctors and nursing staff were all brilliant, but like any hospital the food wasn't great.
Just a warning to everyone going on a foreign holiday NEVER travel without travel insurance, we had a very good insurance and they arranged everything for us.
My husbands injury is serious and it was all a complete nightmare, for something like this to happen so far away from home is so freightening.
We are just so glad to be home.

Just got back from a 13 night break at the Pallini Hotel Apartments in Protaras, Cyprus and I've got no complaints at all. The rooms are basic but extremely clean and spacious. The location is top-notch (near the strip and the beach), the staff were friendly, helpful and accomodating (without even a hint of attitude or boredom) and I had a great time.

The apartments are great for families with little kids - my niece (10 months) and friend's son (9 months) had an awesome time because of the space and their mums had an awesome time too. The supermarket next door was a God-send...

The private-owned Anemos restaurant below the apartments was superb and they made small portions at reduced cost for the kids. The grilled Halloumi sandwiches are the best on the strip.

Head left to the beach instead of right (to Fig Tree Bay) and the umbrellas are better spaced out so your kids have more room for sand-castles and you have more room to move your sunbed around to catch the sun!

Hire a car and check out Ayia Napa (more singles / teens / club friendly than Protaras) and visit the Zorbas bakery - the best chain on the island! Or head to Old Town Protaras and eat at Polyxenia restaurant - a fabulous place in a great beach-side location next to a children's playground.

We booked this the day before we travelled through Argo holidays, we had a night flight with aer cypria which was fine. The journey to the hotel wasnt the best as we had no tour rep explaining the sights or points of interest. When we arrived, we checked in quickly and with no problems. The apartments are basic, but clean, and quite big. The kitchen did nicely for our fry ups in the morning. The balcony was small and we didnt have the best view, but thats cos we were ground floor. Air con which is nice although you have to have your key to work the electric so you cant leave it on when you go out. Little tip, it only works if the balcony door and windows are shut because of sensers.
Swimming pool area is lovely, and the restaurant next door (privately owned) has waiter service of drinks and light snacks to your sun beds, also very nice to eat in the evening. All staff are pleasent, and the cleaners do their job. It is right next to Figo Bay which is lovely to relax or do watersports. Capo Bay Hotel next door has a lovely pool, and we unfortunately only found out on the last day, but definately nice for a dip with a beer!!
The strip has plenty of restaurants at all different prices, bars and i think only a couple of clubs, great for families and couples (love boat is brilliantm although elvis is played a little to much, robbie williams is georgeous). Not really for a clubber, but ayia napa is only 20 min bus away.
Will definately be going back and was gutted only stayed for a week, met some really nice people and all staff in all restaurants and hotels were supurb.
The only 2 downsides were
1, you do need to check your change, sometimes best to go up and pay yourself
2, no representative on the way home, trouble with flights, had to ask an olympic rep what we should be doing.

All in all, absolutely brilliant and will be def going back...
