Top hotel! Everything was perfect and we couldn't stop smiling for days just at how happy we were with the hotel! By far the best restaurant was on site (don't even bother with the American resturant) and everything felt like the rock star treatment! The staff were friendly and the reception staff went above and beyond what was asked of them. This really was the perfect hotel for the perfect holiday! Would we go back?... Just try and stop us!

Recently stayed here for 10 nights with my wife after requesting a transfer for the sister hotel next door (Sunrise beach)
Apparently, the hotel is only 1 year old but they have pretty much got it right immediately.
From the superb service offered at reception by the beautiful Anastasia,to the thoroughness of the room maids and the wonderful service around the pool (Constantina is an absolute gem with her constant smile and nothing is "too much trouble" attitude)
Also,Thanos the Maitre D' and his staff supply an impressive and extremly polite service at all times.
Although the hotel is small in comparison to the other hotels,it never feels crowded at all,and the policy of allocating your sunbeds for the duration of your stay is an inspired one and is surely the way to go for other hotels.
Few things are more annoying on holiday than coming to the pool in the mornings and finding there are no sunloungers available !
In all,it was a great holiday and can honestly say it's amongst the most impressive hotels I have stayed in and will definitely be re-booking for next year

Room Tip: Sea view room was great

We returned to The Sunrise Pearl this year , as last year when we stayed it wasn't quite finished.

Although I had booked through Thomson , I decided to email the hotel directly to request a particular room.
At check-in we were greeted by a lovely warm reception team. Great to see the same faces as last year.

As requested we were given room 307 , which has a full sea view... stunning!

Everything about this hotel is fabulous. Luxurious fixtures & fittings. Exquisite toiletries. Fluffy bathrobes & slippers. 24 hour room service.

But I really think the thing that makes The Sunrise Pearl stand out from others is the wonderful staff. From the Porters, to reception. Pool/Towels attendants. All of the team in the restaurant , servers to the incredibly talented chefs & all of the managers. These people can't do enough for you. The attention to detail is second to none.

We will be booking again (hopefully for 2014)

Room Tip: As many others have said , if you can afford it upgrade to a full sea view room. Breath taking :) 3...

Just returned from Honeymoon ( May/June 2013 ). Hotel is very modern, with a bright marble finished reception area, albeit a bit sparse, almost clinical. We were a late arrival, and were greeted with a welcoming smile from Anastasia on reception together with a complimentary refreshing orange juice whilst we checked in.
ROOM:
Being Honeymooners, our room was provided with complimentary champagne and fruit . We had opted to pay the extra for a sea view room, and this was worth every penny. I would strongly recommend to book a sea view if you can. There are swim up rooms on the lower level, but as these pools are separate from the main pool, none of the occupants appeared to make use of this facility, and so I would advise that it's not worth booking one of these. Rooms are well appointed, standard layout. They're good but not luxurious. That said, the beds are superb ( 6'6'' wide ) and very comfortable. Best nights sleep in a hotel that I've ever had....Almost as good as home. Bathrooms have twin sinks, Bathrobes, complimentary slippers, shampoo, soap and shower gel, together with quality towels. Nice touch is the nightime ' Turn down ' service, and the chocolates left on our pillows.
POOLS SUNBEDS:
As already reported by others, you get to choose your sunbeds at the start of your stay, and these remain yours for the duration of your holiday. This is excellent, and stops the ridiculous morning rush, seen in other hotels to reserve a sunbed. Why don't all hotels do this ? Whilst there is a children's pool, there is also an Adults only pool, which means you can relax without the noise, hubbub and splashing of youngsters. Everyone respected this, and it was lovely and quiet. This is typical of the hotel, being quiet and relaxed. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. If not, look elsewhere. The Sunrise Pearl is the sister hotel of The Sunrise Beach which is next door,( literally through a gate linking the pools areas ) and you have access to the facilities of that hotel. I felt a distinct difference between the two hotels. The Beach appeared to be more crowded around their pool and generally noisier. The Pearl felt more spaced out and quieter and relaxed.
FOOD:
Food was good, ( great soup ) being the typical 5 star style buffet, and although it is wrong to be critical, I did find that after 11 nights, I was getting a bit tired of meat and veg. ....Maybe just me wanting some basic home cooking.
STAFF:
All Staff are EXCELLENT. This is at ALL levels, from Reception, Maids, Waiters and Entertainment staff. In particular MARIA one of the hotel entertainers, she is absolutely lovely, and the hotel have excelled in matching her to this role.
LOCATION:
Set approximately in the middle of what could be called the main ' High St ' of Protaras, it is excellently located.
CRITICISMS:
Whilst there is a bar, the outdoor seating area is small and cramped and is wedged between Reception and The restaurant with no view or outlook, and it severely lacks atmosphere and ambience. The Sunrise Beach next door has an open air terrace with soft table lighting and is better for after dinner evening coffee/drinks. Whilst there is nothing preventing you from going next door, I would have preferred to have been able to stay on site.
The hotel as already said is very modern, and I found it a little sparse and clinical. That however is a personal matter of taste, and not really a criticism.
A very steep entance, makes it not particularly wheelchair friendly. This should be noted if you have a disabled member in your party. I also understand that you can't use the lift for access to the pool level.
OVERALL:
Superb hotel, and I doubt that you will be disappointed.

Room Tip: Sea view overlook the pools and are highly recommended.

We stayed at the Sunrise Pearl Hotel for one week in May 2013 and thought it was fantastic. We travel quite a lot, and have stayed in hotels of various standards in over 150 different cities in most areas of the world. Although facilities vary a lot in different countries (how would you compare Addis Ababa with San Francisco, Samarkand with Rome or Saigon with Timbuktu?) one thing remains consistent, and that is that the attitude and quality of the staff is what makes the difference. Wherever we are, no matter how grand or basic the hotel facilities, what makes you free welcome, relaxed and happy are the staff, and the staff get their attitude from the managers.

We found the staff at Sunrise Pearl to be truly fantastic in almost every situation and every department: the receptionists who greeted us on our arrival, and helped us over the following days with the problems with our missing suitcase, that the airline had lost; the pool staff who helped accommodated our various outside visitors; the bar staff who served us so well and transferred our bar bills to our restaurant bills without any fuss, and made our visitors feel welcome as well; and all the other hotel staff who always seemed pleased to see us and to be able to help wherever they could. All were wonderful.

In particular however I must we must say a really big thank you to Thanos Tsiaras, Maitre D’, and all his staff, and to the restaurant Chef, who were all wonderful. When on our first day we told Thanos we were vegetarian he did not treat this as a problem to be overcome, as sometimes happens, but as an opportunity, with the help of the chef, to excel and make us feel not just welcome but special. The meals that were provided for us were all fabulous and the extra effort was really appreciated. It was also a great pleasure to be looked after by staff who all seemed so happy to be able to provide great food and a great service. Sometimes we ate alone, sometimes with other hotel guests and sometimes with other hotel guests and outside visitors. All of these changes Thanos and his staff handled with great skill and consideration.

The only slight issue we had was our laundry, which we did tried to get this before the 9.00 deadline but failed, so we gave it to somebody, even though it late. When we didn't get it back the next afternoon, the day before we were leaving, we were disappointed but the staff did say it would be posted onto us. When we mentioned this to the reception staff and they asked us to hold on to see what they could do - 20 minutes later the laundry was delivered to our room, in time for us to pack. Once again your reception staff had excelled and saved the day.

In conclusion, we had a wonderful stay and for us there is now only one hotel in Protaras - The Sunrise Pearl Hotel. If we come back to Protaras, we would rather change our dates than go to another hotel.

Room Tip: If you 'upgrade' you will get a better sea view. We didn't do this, but we spent so litt...

This hotel was completed in June 2012. It is a fantastic modern hotel, with very attentive staff. Even though it has a kids club and children's pool it is a quiet, relaxing place. It also has an adults on pool.... travelling with two young children I did not use this. Our room was a junior suite which gave us a bedroom and with a sliding wall converting the sitting area to a bedroom for our children this had a 42" TV and ours a 32" TV. Within the hotel there is a quality fish restaurant and buffet restaurant. You also have use of lovely local Greek restaurant and a not so lovely steak house in a hotel next door (Sunrise Beach). The only negative would be the bar within the hotel itself, this is partly open air, has no views, the seats were not that comfortable and no one really used it so it lacked atmosphere. To end on a positive note there are plenty of good bars locally.
