“Absolutely Beautiful”
Reviewed 25 June 2011

We stayed at the Constantinos hotel from the 8th June until the 22nd and like everyone else, reading previous reviews we were worried about what we were going to find!
When we arrived our luggage was taken straight away by a porter whilst we checked in, and even upgraded to All inclusive which was worth the money (26euro per night), yet not being big drinkers we probably broke even. I think it was the convenience of not carrying money around all the time which was the main benefit. The safe was 2.50 but we have always paid for them so this was no problem!
We had a side sea view room (319) looking towards the vrissiana hotel and we had beautiful views and even saw a few weddings from our balcony!
The building work at the Sunrise Pearl (in between the vrissiana and sunrise beach) did not affect us one little bit! It did not start until about 8 in the morning and all you heard was a slight noise from the crane every now and then. Nothing to ruin your holiday or even dare complain about as it was really no problem.
We stayed at the hotel nearly every day, and had a lovely stay. The food was great, we found something to eat every day, and my partner is quite fussy and still managed to get chicken nuggets and chips, and the bread rolls were lovely! A different carvery every night and a selection of salads and vegetables. I would have to say the puddings could be a bit better though, but i ate so much for my main i never had room for dessert! Breakfast was a wide choice from pastries to cold meats to fry up there was just so much of it!
The weekends were a bit annoying as the hotel was over run by locals from Nicosia. I don't think it helped we were there on a bank holiday weekend though so they were out in force! The second weekend was a lot quieter, but still had countless children in our pool!
There was never a problem finding sun beds and some days we had 8 sunbeds between 4 of us as there was just so much available.
Our rep Dave was at the hotel 6 days a week (even though he was only meant to be there 3!) and was a lot of help with booking excursions and answering any questions we had.
The coastal path will be absolutely amazing when it is finished. They are currently as far as the Silver Sands hotel which is quite a way down from the Constantinos. They are still laying some wooden slats but you can still walk along as there is gravel down underneath. The path goes all the way along to fig tree bay and if you walk the opposite direction the views are amazing.
All in all i think this hotel was beautiful, yes its not a 5* but i knew that and First Choice only rate it 4*+ anyway. This is mainly for the facilities the hotel has on offer. The entertainment was quite slack but the magician is a must see! Even me and my partner had to take part in a few tricks!
Anyone who has previously complained have been extremely picky and i wouldn't let little things ruin my holiday.
The hotel is a bit dated but it isn't a brand new hotel so you can't expect everything to be modern. The bathroom is fine for how much time you spend in it!
Getting around is easy and the bus is only 2euro all day between the waterpark in aiya napa and paralimni.
It was completely relaxing and I would return to Cyprus again and again. We'll be coming back for our wedding as well!

Room Tip: Don't pay to upgrade to a sea view!

After booking this Hotel last year I read some good, but mainly negative reports on this Hotel. PLEASE IGNORE THE NEGATIVE ONES!
We have, in the past, stayed in other 5 Star Hotels in Cyprus, Adams Beach and Aeneas Resort, plus a Thomson Gold Hotel, and none of these comes up to Constantinos!
Firstly I must mentioneThomas Cook, as they get slated on this website, but I have nothing but good to say about them. Our flight out was on time and the return journey we set off 15 minutes early and the Cabin Crew were fantastic, very efficient but also very friendly, nothing was too much trouble!
Hotel Staff, brilliant, very courteous and polite and also very efficient. This is also the first time that we have experienced a Hotel making rules and ENFORCING THEM! No Shorts or even 3/4 shorts for men, dressy or otherwise, in the Evening Dining Room. We saw Staff turning away people in shorts. This is nice to see as it enhances the whole Dining experience, as we ladies do like to dress for dinner and also like to see the blokes make the effort:-)
Hotel Room, very comfortable, the best hotel bed we have slept in EVER! They have the mattress toppers and they are so comfy. Our room was cleaned to a good standard, and all toiletries, tea, coffee, milk etc. were replaced every day. Our room 224, was very quiet even though it was opposite the lift. However, our room was overlooking the side of the Odessa, away from our pool, so we did experience one night of noise from the infamous Bikini Bar, but unfortunately our air con had packed in, in the middle of the night, so we awoke mainly as we had overheated. It was also the Festival of the Flood weekend and the whole resort was noisy. We did not experience any further lack of sleep after that night (we reported the fault with the air con at 3.00 a.m. and within two minutes the Night Porter had come to our Room). This air con fault was promptly fixed by lunchtime the next day.
Pool Area, sunbeds are plentiful, no rushing down at 8.00 a.m. to reserve here, beds were still available at lunchtime. However, the grassed area beds were always full first as you tend to get a bit of a sea breeze on these. Weekends, Cypriots do tend to come to the hotel for a break and beds do get taken a little earlier, but still no shortage as Staff bring out more beds and parasols. They DO charge for sunbeds for non residents, we saw it, there are two guys patrolling all the time, looking for anyone without the Tsokkos blue & white striped beach towel. Also, they turfed out some local kids from the pool, who'd fancied a dip after school. There is no hassle at this Hotel, just chill out and enjoy, there's nothing to stress you!
Food, I defy anyone not to find something delicious to eat, unless you normally live on junk food (they even have that - kids menu - nuggats & chips). If you don't want to experience local cuisine, there is always a carvery roast , plus fresh broccolli, cauliflower, carrots, peas, gravy. There is also a fish and a pasta dish on offer every night. We personally love greek cypriot food, steffado, kleftiko, moussaka etc. so we were very well catered for. The choice of salad is to die for, as are the puddings. There is also a good selection of fresh cheeses and fruit. Oh, and the soups, yum! We often took about 2 hours over our dinner, just enjoying the whole experience. Ask for a table by the window and just watch the sun go down, lovely:-)
Breakfast, freshly made to order pancakes or omelettes, the usual full english (with the best mushrooms we have ever had abroad), plus ham cheese fruit, croissants, cakes, jams, cereals etc.
Weddings, we saw two and they were so elegant and unintrusive, in fact they actually added to the pleasure of the hotel. We used to go to 5 Star Adams Beach until the wedding thing got so ridiculous, with up to 5 weddings a day! The whole wedding party also used to reserve whole rows of sunbeds to 'sit together', that along with experiencing the relevant stag and hen do's put us off for life!
Last but not least, yes they are still working on the coastal path in front of the Hotel, but they are only fixing wood strips, not excavating or anything noisy. Trust me you wont even notice them unless you are sunbathing right next to them! The Sunrise Beach Hotel extension would only be a problem if you had booked into the Vrissiana and had a room overlooking the extension, otherwise, you have a view of a crane, no noise so dont worry!
Just chill out and enjoy the whole experience.
I am already in the process of re-booking for next year:-)
If you want to ask any questions, I would be happy to help, just message me?

Room Tip: Email the hotel and ask for a pool view room

I have never written a review before but felt very strongly to put my views down about this hotel. I have just returned from a 10 day stay with my husband and friends, I was very apprehensive and had major concerns because of all the bad reviews I had read before I arrived at the hotel. I would like to say that I found some of these comments to be totally unfounded !!!!!
All the staff were excellent and cannot praise them enough, they made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them,
The food was lovely and there was a good selection of dishes to choose from at every meal time. we were all inclusive and I was concerned about them not providing bottled water, this was not a problem as the staff would fill our bottles up or provide us with glasses of water on request, the local sprites and cocktails were of a high standard and very enjoyable !!!!
The bedroom and bathrooms were dated, but were clean and the beds were very comfortable therefore not really a problem.
The new walkway by the beach is nearly completed and the building work near the hotel did not affect us at all,
Our Thomas Cook Rep called Stacey was very approachable and helpfull , which completed our very enjoyable stay at this hotel.
WE WILL BE BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed in this hotel for two weeks in June for my wife's 40th...Our first impressions were excellent...We were given a room on the first floor facing out towards the main strip, however this turned out to be a noisey room because it faced a karokee bar just up the road, which was very loud...We asked reception for another room because Im a light sleeper and I couldn't get to sleep, even with ear plugs in...They changed the room for us that day facing the other side and I must say it was a lot quieter...They even arranged for some flowers to be delivered to our room for my wife's birthday and the birthday cake kept in their fridge until I needed it....The reception staff were excellent, in fact all the staff in this hotel were excellent. I can't praise them enough and they made our stay very enjoyable..The food was superb and the service was excellent, there were lots of choice, however fruit wise, there wasn't any pineapple or strawberries...The room was cleaned daily and we got clean bedding & towels every day as well...This hotel is the best there is in Protarus, so if you want a hotel of quality, then this is the place to stay...

Room Tip: Try and get a room opposite the main entrance.

Very friendly and helpful staff, though hotel (bathrooms especially) a bit dated. We were always able to have a decent meal in the restaurant and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Problem was the building work right along the front, of the new pedestrian promenade. Also building work of new hotel adjacent to neighbouring hotel. Thomas Cook are liars!

Just returned from a three day family holiday. If this was a 3*-4* hotel, I would say the holiodays were ok. But paying EUR250 per day for a room (B&B), you should expect 5* treatment. So here it goes:

- Rooms and bathrooms were out of date and need refurbishment
- No waiters in the pool; you need to go the bar to pick up your drinks
- Frappe (cold coffee) EUR5!!!!! Children ice cream EUR3,85 enough said
- Sunbeds not comfortable
- Breakfast equivalent of a 3* hotel
- EUR15 for wireless

For someone, getting a package from the UK, this could do the trick, but for a local tourist paying over the odds for this kind of service, no thanks.

On the other hand the gym was well equiped. That is as far as it goes.

Not a 5* by any means.
