My husband and I stayed here from 25th - 30th January 2014. We arrived by car at about 9.30pm so were too late for dinner. We were, however, given a voucher for lunch the following day as we had booked Half board. There was no where to go out to eat as the resort was effectively closed down for the winter and surprisingly the hotel couldn't even sell us a packet of crisps at the bar! Fortunately we had eaten a good meal on our flight into Larnaca so survived until breakfast. We had a first floor side sea/pool room with wonderful views towards Fig Tree Bay and the morning sunrise was beautiful across the bay. We were very happy with the room and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Our only problem was that we found it very warm so slept with the balcony window open. This was great as we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the sea lapping the shore. However, on our last night we were attacked by mosquitoes as it became warmer ( we hadn't taken insect repellent, as we didn't expect to need it in January). We decided to close the window and turn on the air - conditioning in order to get rid of the mosquitoes. Unfortunately it only worked as a heater as it was winter!
All the meals which we had were excellent with a huge choice at breakfast and dinner all served buffet style. There is food to suit all tastes and special diets can be catered for if advance notice is given. The hotel has a dress code for dinner and it's lovely to be able to dress up a bit for dinner. Unfortunately some people didn't seem to adhere to this but they were in a minority. On one day we were able to exchange our dinner for a packed lunch so that we could get out and explore the island. The packed lunch was superb and extremely generous.
The hotel has an elegant foyer/bar area with a good choice of drinks available from the bar. For a hotel bar, the prices are fairly reasonable.
Each and every member of staff with whom we had a conversation were polite, very friendly and helpful, particularly the bar man who helped us to chose our wine with dinner.
We will certainly visit again for a winter break but it wouldn't be our cup of tea in high summer.
