Just got back from Malama and would never stay again alot of the reviews on here seem really good hence one of the reasons we booked but . the hot water in the room doesn't stay hot for long even though we had the immersion on for the whole 2 weeks of our stay !
The waitresses and waiters 2 in particular were dreadful we timed it we ordered the wine which was like vinegar i hasten to add, it took 20mins to get it to our table this happened on several occasions , so my husband and i sat there the next night and ordered the wine again just to see what an earth they were doing in the time, first they come over take or drinks order ask us our room number annoyingly for the hundredth time then must be the head waiter gives it to the waitress she puts it in her pocket goes and clears a few tables and take,s some other drinks orders ,then takes the other people there drinks and leaves us high and dry at this point my husband goes over to the bar to complain they send another waitress over she takes our room number again grrr then we get our drinks , as we finish our meal the original lady give,s us our drink this is a good 45 mins after its a joke , and rooms should be cleaned and sheets changed even on bank holidays and sundays there are no english chanels on tv bar from news and mtv don't norm watch tv on holiday but the evening entertainment is shocking everyone is crammed into this dingy room with brown floral chairs that have seen better days !!! a message to the management GET WITH THE 21ST CENTURY AND GET COLOR CODED WRIST BANDS that way you don't annoy your guest who have paid good money to have what food and drink available to be ask room number every time you go to the bar etc , and finally internet is way too expensive its a rip off and needs sorting out !! only positive thing is beach is beautiful rooms are clean but change floral sheets and curtains and get rid of the old fashioned brown blanket,s this hotel was rated 4star but in reception it clearly says 3 bear this in mind when staying here there is no way its a 4 star oh forgot drinks and food all finished at 12 so buy snack outside hotel not from the overpriced hotel shop nearly 3 euros for a bag of crisps !!! and you will be fine .

Room Tip: go on top floor as being on the ground was way too noisy with other peoples kids screaming at all ho...

Good value for families with children. Nice pool and a very small but nice beach with crystal clear water (a bit cold still end of april but our 3 year old daughter didn't mind and in the end we also went into it.
It's good for people look for a place outside the big tourist villages like Protaras or Ayia Napa, but with a car these are also close by.
Contrary to most people we were not on all inclusive, and we didn't mind. We ate one evening in the buffet and it is tipically an all inclusive buffet, love it or hate it, I'm not a big fan. But we had our own kitchen and so most of the time prepared our own food and a few times we also looked around for some nice restaurants with fresh fish, which seems more easy than it is. But we managed.
Staff very friendly, place is very childfriendly also, so cannot say a lot of bad things about the place.
We had a one bedroom apartment which was sufficient for us (family with 2 children of 1 and 3) but indeed might become a bit small when the kids grow up, depends how much time you want to spend in the apartment of course.

After reading the good reviews of this resort, my 2 friends and I decided to book a weeks holiday. We wanted somewhere fairly peaceful where we could relax and this location is ideal. It isn't too far far from busier parts though- we went to Ayia Napa one evening, which was a fairly short taxi ride. The hotel itself is a nice size for those wanting a quiet holiday and being literally on the beach is a great quality. The apartment we stayed in was very nice, with everything we needed- inc iron and ironing board, kettle, hair dryer etc. We were all inclusive and found the food to be very tasty and varied. The only downside was that some evenings there wasn't much choice for my vegetarian friend but the staff were very friendly and would go out of their way to help- on one occasion they actually made some fresh rice for her that hadn't been in contact with any meat etc. We found Demitrius (chef) to be very friendly and professional! The entertainment team were also very friendly and we enjoyed the bingo in the evenings- especially as we won a couple of times!! It was also nice that there were water sports directly off the beach, with reasonable prices. The generally sports facilities at the hotel were very good, we played tennis one morning and hired bikes on another day. There is also table tennis, volleyball and a gym so plenty of choice. We didn't use the spa area as we were generally outside, plus you had to pay for the hot tub which was a downside. Overall, we had a fun holiday here and would recommend this holiday village to our friends and family!

We were a family of 2 adults and 2 young children (5yrs and almost 3yrs). We had booked a 1 bed superior suite all inclusive which we thought would be fine but upon arrival and the first night wasn’t quite as we anticipated. We were fortunate enough to be able to move (upgrade) to a 2 bed apartment which was much better. We spoke to other similar sized families who had also booked 1 bed apartments and the conclusion was the same – a 2 bed apartment would be much better. The unfortunate thing is they only have 8 of these available. For older children the option of having 2 apartments with connecting door seemed a good alternative.
The apartments were basic but clean and functional. Small but functional kitchen area with - microwave, 2 electric ring hob, oven, fridge, kettle, cutlery, crockery etc.
The hotel complex was not big (had the capacity of 500 so I was told) and had 400 when we were there which certainly didn’t seem busy.
At this time of year the pools were cold (not heated) and the kids came out shivering but didn’t deter them. However not many adults indulged. There was an indoor ‘cave’ pool which was warm. This was not particularly big and so was busy in poor weather. There was a spa pool but cost 10EUR for 30 mins and so wasn’t used. I did find the cave slippery, a bit smelly and dimly lit but unusual and the kids loved it.
There was a small beach just beyond the pools which was nice as an alternative to the pools.
There was a small shop that was surprisingly well stocked and very nice staff/owners there.
I escaped for a dive one morning (Sea Caves) with the dive centre on site but not obvious unless you look for it. This is a small outfit but had everything you would need. Very relaxed, friendly and helpful.
Our initial couple of days we felt disappointed with the resort but actually that was possibly unfair and the weather possibly dampened our spirits. The additional negatives were that we could not get a good coffee. We do not drink instant coffee at home and so being at a 4* resort and getting Nescafe instant (even if it did come from a coffee machine) was a disappointment. To some this is probably very minor but a descent coffee in the morning is sadly, something we enjoy. We did find a coffee machine but still wasn’t much better and cost extra. Another point was the ‘All inclusive’ had a number of ‘not included’ e.g. lolly ices, (we have a dairy intolerant child and so can’t eat ice cream).
There were certainly more positives that out weighed our negatives and essentially made the holiday a success in our eyes –
The food was good with less options than we have been used to, but it is a smaller resort than we usually visit but there was still a fair few choices. There was a good salad bar (numerous different salads), a speciality dish cooked freshly for you, a number of hot buffet options and very nice/friendly waitresses managed by a professional Maitre'd. I will mention names later as I know these things are read by the resorts and there are a few staff I think were exceptional. My only grumble about the food was on occasion the range of foods created some odd combinations and (except for the salads) there wasn’t always enough vegetables and so fries seemed to end up being on the plate along with several different meaty dishes. What we ended up doing was having a few small dishes of different things rather than 1 main meal. Desserts should be mentioned as tasty as well and not something I usually eat but I seemed to ‘taste’ quite a few whilst there.
The reception staff were excellent, very friendly spent time with you and were very helpful.
The other big plus for us was the onsite entertainment team. We don’t normally get involved with the resort type entertainment and games etc. However, these were not intrusive or pushy (as some places can be) and they had a range of activities that didn’t disrupt you if you were not involved. There was also something for all ages at some points during the day.
For the first time we used the kids club service and despite some trepidation from us and the kids it was a great success. Again, this was down to the team who were excellent with the kids and I felt comfortable leaving them for an hour or 2 with them having fun.
And so in summary –
Initial disappointments maybe due to a little early in the season or just a bit unlucky with the weather dampened our first impressions.
Was very clean and seemed well maintained
Food very good and tasty
Excellent staff (Reception, waitresses, Restaurant Manager, Bar staff and Entertainment staff). I believe what turned this from good holiday to a very good holiday were the staff. The exceptional staff who’s names we got to know (apologies to those names we didn’t get or remembered) we would like to mention are –
Nikita (Entertainment)
Anthony (Entertainment)
Rest of entertainment team
Carolina (Bar)
Restaurant Manager and particular staff -
Dimitrius (chef)
Alena (waitress)

We have had a weeks stay during Easter using our timeshare points. The accommodation was good and it seems to have been updated. The location was ideal for us and the facilities were great including their entertainment team. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, We were self catering and did not use their restaurant. We had hired a car and made a number of trips visiting different parts of Cyprus and mostly dined out in other restaurants. The only negative point is their cost for the wireless connection which is expensive it really should be free. We also paid for a late checkout which was worth every penny as our return flight was at 23.15 from Lanarka.

Room Tip: Try and request a sea view room on the first or second floor. RCI do not have sew view rooms at this...

We first went to Malama last year on recomendation of friends who have been going for years and they were exactly right it was great! We have two children 2 and 13 and the latter is wheelchair bound. The staff couldnt have been more helpful. The complex is all ramped so easy to get around. We did have one of the few 2 bed apartments but were delighted with the size of the rooms!! Would have liked a microwave in the apartment and although many german french and Russian channels on the TV only one English channel news so not much to watch when the kids are in bed. DVD player would be really good!! The evening entertainment was lovely for the kids and friendly bar however it is far too small for all guests to attend and as my son is in a wheelchair conscious of getting him round in a small room.
Nice touch with hiring beach towels so no need to bring any bonus!
We're counting down the weeks till we return in May!
