Well probably my first review but couldn't resist.
Great hotel everyone couldn't do enough for us , Alexia at reception, suzy at the bar, Roosos maître 'd' and Vidas everyone's favourite chef ( or the entertainment) he always had a smile and cooked great food and Jonny who's sense of humour was great!!
The hotel is spotless, food was excellent and always hot and tasty, rooms were large and everything you needed even had fairy liquid!!
Beach was small but adequate, no end of sunbeds around the pool but think about where the sun is for the day you may have to change beds. You could walk to the next bay where there was a larger beach with little café and toilet and lifeguard. Eva in the café has recently opened a restaurant and if her snacks are anything to go by you won't go hungry.
I can't actually think of anything in the hotel which was a down side to this holiday, apart from the lads fishing and not catching anything.
Great weather in October hit 30 degrees few evenings were slightly cold and breezy but then warmed up.
Don't need plug adaptors dah !!
A lot of different nationalities in the hotel, but all staff speak excellent English, best thing of all driving on the left side and the steering wheels are where they should be making it easy to drive, the roads are very calm and quiet.
Would I return ....yes. One last mention for suzy who worked at speed, was efficient, new your drinks, had time for a friendly chat, wow what a superb member of their team.
Well done malama for a great holiday and making it a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: all rooms are large our one bedroom had kitchen lounge bedroom and bathroom

I like to review my stays with hotels we stay with on our holidays to give reassurance and help to others, but without writing and repeating everything everyone has said before it’s hard to write a review, but here goes.

Before we went we checked if the hotel was booked up due to all the review ratings it gets and found it was fully booked even being in October.

On arrival we were warmly greeted at reception by Alexia, unfortunately our room was not available on the night we arrive but they put us up in a massive apartment for one night which was not a problem and was given our rooms next day. We understood this was due to all the different arrival times and days from the many multi national guests staying at this hotel. This was handled in a very professional manner and all walked away understanding both sides of the situation and happy with the outcome.

Room: we had one bed room which has flat screen TV not the best channels but you’re on hols so does it matter? It has a good full kitchen, bathroom, safe (extra cost) fan and air-conditioning and a balcony.

As already said before the hotel was very clean well kept and very well run, the staff were so welcoming and attentive .We were greeted at breakfast being told “Sir you are safe here “, it was like a scene from Hello Hello, I was waiting for the phrase “Listen, I will tell you only once “it was brilliant and a standing joke for the rest of the holiday.

We were all inclusive as we find it easier when on holiday, we are not alcoholics but enjoy wine with our meals coffees in the afternoons few drinks in the evenings.

We found that the costs of drinks in most hotels are big part of you spending so this is a better deal for us.

Breakfast: Everything you could want continental, cereal, full English, tea ,coffee milk, fruit juices (not the best watery) and entertainment by Vidas on of the chefs doing what he does best show cooking waffles doughnuts omelettes etc.

Lunch: various meals from a roast to nuggets and chips it varies through out the week and entertainment by Vidas

Dinner: Various theme nights throughout the week salads roasts pasta even had small hog roast one night. But we were a bit late and missed the best part of that one. Chinese, bar b que, Mediterranean Greek to name a few and of course entertainment by Vidas in fancy dress.

Overall our views on the food were at first, the choice seemed restricted maybe, but the quality by far out weighed this. The food came out in small amounts and kept hot and fresh and been the best food we have come across in all the hotels we have stayed at. The desserts were a bit thin on the ground and ice cream would have been a small bonus and not allot to ask. All the staff were great and very hardworking and entertaining thank you.

Bars: The pool bar was the main bar, open till 24:00 and there was another up the top by the sun beds on the sandy part of the complex but stayed open for a limited time .In the evening after a few days the bar was open by reception which was ideal if you did not want to stay and watch the entertainment. All the bar staff were brilliant and Suzie was our pick of the bunch she worked her socks off and did not stop and worked way past her time every day a BIG THANK YOU to you. Jonny was a close second.

The only complaint we could say was the spirits on the all inclusive were mixer spirits and were weak little taste and poor measures 30ml it would be more enjoyable to drink 1 good drink than 2 or more cheap ones. Baileys or dark rum or better quality local drinks would have been nice.

Beaches: nice one but very small just down path by the pool area, water sports and diving available weather permitting. There is another short 10 min walk along the coastal path to the right which has toilets, lifeguard, sun beds and a refreshment stall with good prices. Warning the sea is lovely and swimming in the bays are brilliant but be careful when you go out to far as there are tides . Sun beds on the beach 2:50 euro each and it’s the same for the brollies.

Busses are good and every 15 mins if you want to go anywhere 1:50 euro each time or 5 euro multi trip all day or Taxi 12 euro into Protaras eachway.

Bike ,car or moped hire just outside reception .

I love fishing ,would just say don’t bother here, hire a car and try fishing in the dams inland but I cant give any info on that, sorry .but there is a shop up the road towards Paralimini that sell bait and give you all the tips you need.

Would we go back?????

YES without a doubt.

Thanks again to you all for a lovely stay and well done and hope to see you all again soon.

Different people want different things from a holiday and if your ideal vacation is one spent in the middle of a bustling resort centre surrounded by shops, clubs and bars then Malama is not for you. What it does offer are spotlessly clean updated apartments surrounded by gardens, a stunning coastal location with direct access to its own safe beach (technically a public beach but with no road to cross so as good as a private one), a beautiful and well maintained pool area with plenty of sunbeds, and meals that provide enough choice and quality to satisfy all but the fussiest diners. Most of all, there are friendly staff that really make you feel welcome and go the extra mile to make your stay a pleasant one.

Some of the things that most impressed us during our stay were the efficiency of the housekeeping staff (two minor faults with our apartment were fixed within half an hour of reporting them to reception), and the friendliness of the restaurant staff who, even during the busy breakfast or dinner periods, found time to chat with the guests. We must also give a special mention to Vidas the chef who tempted us wickedly with freshly baked and decorated doughnuts, brochettes and waffles at breakfast.

There are a couple of tips that are worth knowing. Firstly, Malama is quite a distance from Larnaca airport so it is worth booking a taxi transfer (about €55 for up to four people), which takes about 40 mins rather than the shuttle bus that travels all round Ayia Napa and Protaras and takes about two hours.

Secondly, the area around Malama, being largely rural with private villas, does not have many restaurants so it is advisable to have at least half board rather than B&B. This is no hardship, though, as the on-site buffet restaurant provides meals of excellent quality and variety. You can have all-inclusive but we found that the enormous breakfasts left no room for lunch and so half board was sufficient for us. (For those not on all-inclusive, house wine was €5.50 a half litre which we thought was quite reasonable compared with other Cyprus hotels we have stayed in.)

Getting out and about is a lot easier than the location might suggest. From the hotel it is about a ten-minute stroll to the bus stop where €1.50 will take you to Protaras, Cape Greco or Ayia Napa. The buses are every 15 minutes, even on Sundays, and journeys take about 15 minutes to Protaras or 40 minutes to Ayia Napa. There is also a coastal path that you can walk along southwards towards Protaras or northwards as far as the Greek Cypriot lookout post guarding the ceasefire “green” line between the Greek and Turkish parts of the island. This is only about 1km away and gives a good view of the “Ghost” town of Varosha in the Turkish half. (If you want to visit the Turkish sector then we would recommend the open top “Red Bus” tours that take you to the ancient town of Famagusta as well as the beach by Varosha.)

Evening entertainment at Malama is family oriented with a children’s disco at the poolside bar followed by something for all ages (e.g. singers, dancers or a magic show). For those who can’t do without their football fix there are nearby bars with huge satellite dishes beaming live Sky sports, but as I said at the beginning, if raving nightlife and oceans of rotgut alcohol are what you are looking for, then Malama is not for you. However, as a holiday destination it suited us so well that we have been back two years running and I’m sure that we will be returning again.

Room Tip: Apartment blocks numbered 34 - 41 are furthest from the pool but face onto a pleasant grassy area wi...

Well finally got round to writing this review. Our first visit to Cyprus and all-inclusive virgins. When we arrived at 11.30 pm everything was in place. We were in block 38 which was the furthest from the pool/beach area but nearer to the reception/restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The blocks are connected by winding paths which could be confusing at first but we soon got used to it. The apartment was sufficient for four of us, spotlessly clean, everything you needed. The bathroom was recently refitted and had a good shower. On the minus side the balcony was small and there was only one English tv channel broadcasting world news all day. The all inclusive food was of a high quality and something for everyone. My wife is a coeliac and was worried about what she may have been offered to eat. She needn't have worried. The chef Stelios was really helpful and couldn't do enough for her, even making special dishes when required. Gluten free bread and cake was available on request. Although there was a lot of choice I could have done with a few more snack type foods at lunch as you don't always want a big meal. Also on a personal note I would have liked the option of ice cream as dessert. All the restaurant staff worked very hard and were extremely helpful and friendly. At breakfast when it was busy the restaurant did have the look of a cafeteria but the addition of table cloths in the evening overcame this.

The pool area was nice and clean and there were always plenty of beds. Although when we were there it was full and busy. The pool could have done with being larger but with the sea so close we used that. There was always plenty of activities to do around the pool and the watersports on the beach were very good.

The bar was open from 10. am til midnight when the limited entertainment finished. We found the entertainment to be a bit basic. Would have been nice to have had an ultra inclusive option to include branded drinks. Bar staff excellent and especially Johnny and Emi.

Overall a lovely resort with fantastic staff. Peaceful location in between Protaras and Paralimini. There are a few bars nearby if you want a change of scene. We had a great relaxing holiday and our girls made lots of good friends and enjoyed the freedom of the all inclusive environment.

Tips: the wifi is brilliant in the public areas but did not work well in block 38!
