“Our Stay at Malama Beach Holiday Village”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

We have just returned on 26th October from 2 weeks at the Malama, It was exceptional, this was our 10th visit, we are always made very welcome. The weather in October is excelent for us, not too hot, sunshine every day, a little overnight rain. The staff do everything they can to make the Holiday ejoyable, they arranged taxi pick-up from the airport and the resort is constantly being updated.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view.

Recently stayed at malama for the October half term.... 2 adults/2 children... this was our second visit to Cyprus. What a wonderful place... as we arrived late, food and drink was left in our apartment.... very welcoming. Our apartment was a 2 bedroomed suite... absolutely huge/ balcony was a suntrap and spotlessly clean.... All the 2 bedrooms are either above the main entrance/bar/kids club/mini-market/outside the piazza. Didn't bother us as we were in the bar during the evenings and it closed at 11.00pm.
We stayed half board.....fresh buffet breakfast/ hot and cold choices... themed evening buffets... the best was the Sunday carvery...service was excellent and the staff were wonderful throughout our stay.
The weather was fantastic... no cloud and full sunshine for 8 days!!! a definite bonus.
The kids were entertained all day.. pool activities/archery/volleyball to name a few and thanks goes to Heli- a very committed and motivating member of the entertainment team.. I hope she is back next year... everyone loved her.
The village was located quite a way from Protaras centre... so if you needed busier restaurants/ larger beaches you could hop on a bus not far outside the village.... We were happy to relax by the pools or walk a short way along the coast paths to other smaller beaches. The water sports club on the beach was closed which was a shame as my kids certainly would have enjoyed jet-skiing or going on the inflatables.
A thoroughly relaxing 8 days...... Malama staff were always helpful... apartments spotlessly clean.... beautiful gardens..... very safe for children...I would definitely return and October was a great time to visit.
NOTE - The swimming pools were freezing!!!!!.( but welcoming in high season).. so the indoor pool is an added bonus. (grotto/cave with bridge and coloured lighting.. )

Room Tip: The two bedrooms are all situated near to the main entrance/above supermarket/kids club They are no...

We have just returned from Cyrus staying at this fantastic hotel. The rooms were more than adequate, spacious and very clean. Every day the rooms were cleaned and beds made to a high standard. This hotel has lovely well kept grounds leading to a fabulous pool area for the endless relaxation. This is also a nice area for an evening drink with the pools lit up. The beach area leads to the crystal clear sea in a nice, pleasant secluded spot. Going all inclusive did not disappoint, the food was fresh and full of flavour with a good variety to suit all tastes. The chef cooked every day providing more fresh variety with his own twist of flavours and of course humour. The restaurant and bar staff are more than happy to help and provide excellent service, nothing is too much trouble and always take the time to make you feel welcome. this is continued with the reception staff who provide a warm efficient welcome and provide a great service throughout the stay. Overall we had a fantastic stay and was looked after very well with great facility's from the pools, bars, spars and restaurant. we went on our own this time but will be returning with the family next year.

We really enjoyed Malama. It has good facilities for families, a play park, tennis courts, kids club, daily activities and heated indoor pool. It is not quite 4*, more of a 3*. but the apartments are nicely presented, spacious and well equipped. and the whole grounds seemed very safe for children. As we had our baby with us, it was very handy having a kitchen in the apt even though we were all inclusive. The things we liked the most was the safe and pretty sheltered cove for swimming, the walking trail along the coast for afternoon walks/jogs, lots of sun beds by the pool. The food is fantastic. The quality and variety really was excellent. The chef even made our baby specially made puréed food every day, which was a godsend as i thought i may need to cook plain food for him each day. They were so helpful. The restaurant itself is no frills but its perfect for families, which is what it is geared towards. it would be nice to have the option of another on site restaurant to eat at (just for a change of scene) but that would just be a personal preference. The staff really make this place special , the restaurant staff who would go out of their way to help and were always so happy and welcoming (which could easily be tiresome at the end of a long season). Special mention for Anelia who was just so kind and helpful to us every day. It was like visiting your local for every meal and we always got a very friendly welcome. Overall we had a lovely relaxing holiday. Ps. If you've booked independently we found it cheaper to hire a car then to get a taxi both ways.

Agree with the other glowing reviews, this is an excellent hotel. Room was large and great for a family (2 separate sofa beds in lounge for the children) and full kitchen. Beach small but there was always space and either had great waves for jumping over, or was calm for snorkling depending on the weather. Husband and son did diving with the excellent and friendly dive centre. I used the spa which has lovely and prices were reasonable. Only minor criticism would be the canteen like set up in the restaurant, lots of queuing and not much atmosphere, however the staff coped well and were always friendly. Food was very good.

I had read loads of reviews before I we went to Malama and it was my first visit to Cyprus so I after reading the reviews I had high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. The rooms were pretty basic but very clean and had everything we needed apart from a few more English channels on the tv, we only stayed B&B but we were always satisfied with the breakfast especially the guy who cooks the Waffles, Omelettes, Doughnuts etc but he was really nice and had the patience of a saint. All the staff were really nice and friendly. We were in a group of 8 so we found the beach a little small but nothing a short €1.50 20 min journey on the bus didn't solve as Fig Tree Bay is beautiful!!! I would highly recommend Malama especially if you plan on staying on site a lot!!!

We chose the Malama after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and have to say that we were not disappointed. Everything positive has already been said about the Malama and we cannot disagree. It is the best accommodation we have experienced on an all inclusive holiday so far. It was so refreshing that every member of staff was so pleasant, happy and helpful, from maids to managers, a big thank you to everyone for making our holiday so memorable.

Room Tip: We were in block 18 and had a lovely sea view.
