Great location with lovely views of the beach. The hotel is great and a lovely position. You are allocated your sunbeds on arrival which are yours for the whole week which is a marvelous idea, beach towels are also provided. There are loads of lovely restaurants and bars near by and a visit to the Magic Dancing Waters is a must, we have visited this hotel three times. Would also recommend as a great location for a wedding.

We have just returned from the Capo Bay and it was perfect , the hotel is lovely very modern and clean. The staff were all very friendly and couldnt do enough for you. We stayed on half board and every evening the menu was different and the food was fantastic.
The pool area is well kept and clean excellent for children. My son has never wanted to go in a kids club before but Anna the lady who ran it was so lovely they went in every day.
The rooms were so nice and modern, we got upgraded from a standard room to a superior sea view which was amazing.
The Capo Bay was a perfect venue for our wedding we got married in Paralimini town hall , the first Choice rep was so helpful and just took control of everything . We had out reception at the hotel and Katerina the wedding coordinator was wonderful , everything went so smoothly from start to finish, the meal was lovely and the setting was perfect.
Family and friends also stayed in the hotel and noone could find a single fault with anything , we will definatly be returning.

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a weeks holiday at the wonderful Capo Bay Hotel.

The Hotel Has just had a re-fit and had been open a month on our visit and it showed, this place is fabulous great quality finish in the rooms and public areas and pools nice and clean and tidy. The whole place had a very moden and relaxed feel.

Staff are also very friendly, the bar is great and the food although we only had breakfast was very good with lots on offer.

If we could have picked the hotel up and taken it to another area it would have been perfect. For those people who dont know Protaras this place is like Southend on steriods, tacky bars, cheap shops, and fast food outlets and not at all quiet. This place has 0 charm and is just a strip of the affore mentioned.

The beach at Fig tree bay which is right next to the hotel is good if a little crowded, i can imagine that in the height of summer it being a bit full on.

If you stay in the hotel you could feel like you were somewhere totally different outside the hotel gates beware.

I must mention a good restaruant called promises which is on a terrace just a short walk left at the top of the road from the hotel we ate there most nights as other meals didnt compare.

This hotel is a Wedding Factory with one happening every day so if thats not your thing beware although we found it quite sweet.

Have a good time if your going.

Regards

We were at the Capo Bay for 4 days at the beginning of May. They had finished renovations the day prior to our arrival and the interiors were stunning. (We were told that there are 7 rooms on the ground floor not renovated, otherwise, the hotel is finished.) We had a superior room on the 4th floor that was incredibly roomy, with a large LCD screen and very clean modern decor, the bathrooms had top-flight amenities with a "rain" shower, sleek Corian counter with sink. Even the towels and bedding were high-end. The under-stated modern design continued throughout the hotel, including a beautiful reception area and airy, very light lobby. I could go on and on. It is at least 5-star quality, and would be right at home in Miami or nearby. The incredibly high level of the rooms is matched by the rest.

The breakfast buffet was vast, including fresh-squeezed orange juice, eggs any style, lots of fruit, every style, etc, etc. We were so full after the great breakfast, we never wound up having lunch.

And the icing on the cake was the staff. I was pregnant and had some problems during my first night ... and the staff bent over backwards helping me out. The duty manager (Pavel, the quality manager) carried around the phone number of the local English-speaking obstetrician for the next 4 days, all his staff members were extremely solicitous and kind. Every one of them , from the woman who gave out the bath towels, to the maintenance man who custom-made an extension cord for us for our "funny plug" charger for our last night. Every single one of them was incredible, going above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay absolutely perfect.

Not to mention the many paid services that were provided to us for free, to help make our stay perfect. I am racking my brain for something negative to say, but there isn't one thing I can think of. Maybe that the sea was a bit cold in early May ... we swam every day, but it was a bit chilly. Also, the beach is public and doesn't belong to the hotel. I imagine that it gets a bit crowded in season. However, the hotel has multiple pools, and it's impossible to beat the location on the beautiful beach at Fig Tree Bay.

Finally, be sure to use Stavros Watersports if you're interested in something athletic on the water. It is family-owned and run, they are very kind and helpful, and were able to get my creaky bones up on a wakeboard after only a few tries. Both brothers are ace boat-drivers, and the younger one (Costas?) has a professional captain's licence and has been towing parasailers since he was 17. A sure bet for safety.

We liked Nicolas Taverna (but for moussaka, the restaurant on the corner opposite the Love Boat (Palinades or something like that) is better. They keep heaping on the food at Nicolas, so come very hungry ...

Hope our review helps. Petra and Martin from Prague.

Spent there 5 days with my daughter of 4 years and my wife. All the publicly available places are truly european or american 4*. I there to say they deserve even 5. Surely they would get 5* in Egypt or Turkey.
Pools are just wonderful. Beach is next to the pool. Family fun. And in the evening drinks at the pool bar with your wife while your kid is sleeping with "walkie talkie nanny".

There is just one "But". Rooms. We got superior room (only choice for more than 2 people), and it was not superior at all. Shabby and old. But very clean fortunatelly. Still... as the weather in Cyprus is usually good you mostly sleep in the hotel, which is why... we still loved the stay.... By the way, they say they refurbish rooms... but not sure if you should trust them. because when we were booking in spring '08 they said so as well... and when we arrived in fall'08 they said they will have it done in apr'09. If they do - then go for it even more... but crisis and all of that ... better check before you go if you care for your room most.

We spent four days here in the October half term, accommodated in a lovely spacious room with that rare beast - a king size bed. We also had a fabulous view right over the wondrous Fig Tree Bay with its calm, Caribbeanny sea and ankle-deep, soft golden sand.

I've been to Fig Tree Bay three times now - once to the Louis Nausica in 2004 and once to the Chrystalla last year in September. Protaras isn't the most scenic of resorts, but they're opening up a promenade all the way along to Pernera and there are some lovely views over the turquoise sea. The palm trees are starting to grow taller and I love the windmills.

This was the back end of October - 25-29, but the weather was wonderful - constant sun, even during the 15 minutes of rain we had one day! The sea was about 25c, which is much warmer than the rest of the Med at this time of year.

Our hotel room was immaculate; furnishings seemed new. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Can't comment on the evening meal as we ate out in the resort.

My favourite feature of this hotel is the koi ponds ; I spent ages just watching them swimming about. I know how messy koi can be and the staff at the Capo do an amazing job keeping the water in the four ponds so clear all the time.

Other great features - a quiet adults' only pool and a system where you book two sun-beds either day by day as guests leave and the ones you want become available or for your whole stay at the start. This means the dreaded 'towels at dawn' won't be a feature of your holiday at the Capo.

Highly, highly recommended. Only trouble is, they're revamping the already immaculate rooms and may be putting up their prices accordingly for 2009!

We stayed at Capo Bay during the last week of October. The hotel itself was excellent. From the outside all the hotels along the strip in Protaras look more or less the same.

Inside Capo Bay there was a lovely lobby and reception area that almost doubles as a cocktail lounge in the evening. The porter was helpful and brought all our luggage from the car to the room for us.

The reception staff were helpful although a few of them lacked English proficiency which was occasionally awkward. Breakfast was a very relaxed affair with a full continental buffet in a very pleasent eating area.

The swimming pools were set in lovely gardens overlooking fig tree bay and from these gardens (where incidently you have your allocated sun loungers), you can walk down to the beach in about 1 minutes. The pools themselves were absolutely freezing and many people commented that the sea was in fact warmer. That may have been due to the fact that we stayed in the last week of the season so the heaters may have been switched off.

The sea at fig tree bay is crystal clear although the sand is a bit uneven and cluttered with sun beds and other gubbins.

The rooms were spacious and airey and we had a lovely sea view. Location wise the hotel is centered at the far end of the strip but even so everything is easily accessable by foot. One thing to keep in mind is that if you stay close to the end of the season as we did, Protaras itself is very quiet and loses some of its atmosperic vibrance.

Although the hotel has fig tree bay as its main beach, I would recommend (if you have a car), driving abit further up the road toward Konnos Beach which is situated within Cape Greco (Kavo Greko). The sea there is equally crystal clear and the sand is much more condusive to sunbathing than the rather cluttered fig tree bay.

If I were to go to Protaras again I would happily stay at Capo Bay. There was not alot negative about it other than the fact that the food within was quite pricey. We steered clear of eating evening meals there and opted for the nearby restaurants instead which seemed slightly cheaper and offered more choice.
