We have just come back from a week in Cyprus, we picked this hotel as it was out of the hustle and bustle of the main centre. We got exactly what we wanted, a hotel room that was quiet at night, which was so nice!!

The rooms were really large, kept very clean and well maintained. The housekeeping came in nearly everyday just to check that our room was okay and we had everything that we needed. We didn't cook at all in our hotel, as we wanted to taste the local foods rather than our own rubbish cooking!

We had bed and breakfast, which was very nice, a good choice of meals that you could have and the new breakfast server (George) was also very good! He made our stay in the hotel more personal as he came and chatted with us every morning, taking our football banter in his stride!!

The veranda and pool area were very well looked after, a very relaxed atmosphere. The pool was also really good at helping our sun burnt shoulders!!

There are great bus services from Debbie Xenia, just a little bit up the road, we paid 1.50 euros to get the bus all the way to Aiya Napa, which was about a 40 minute journey. This is a bargain compared to how much buses are in Liverpool! This bus also stopped in Protaras and various other places, so we didn't have any difficulty in getting anywhere.

All in all if I was staying on this side of Cyprus again, I would definitely stay here, we all had such a great time :)

Room Tip: Room 110 can still get the wifi signal from reception!

First time we have been to Debbie Xenia and although I can only say it is very tired and dated, the apartments were very clean and a good base. You are about a 25 minute walk into Protaris or a 7 euro taxi ride away. There are some lovely restaurants within a short walk away which was handy. Go to Thomas's Shack which is ten mintues walk away towards the beach. Great food. Nico the host at Debbie Xenia was very helpful and does the best breakfasts! We went bed and breakfast and glad we did, no regrets there, full english every morning or you can just have toast or scrambled egg on toast etc. Pool was nice and clean. It was quite and no rush for sunbeds (we went end of April). About a 5 minute walk away is a beautiful little beach (harbour) and the sea is very clear (although cold). We loved going this time of year as it was quite and we were lucky with the weather for the week we were there. I didn't cook at all in the apartment, but they do have the basic 2 hobs to cook with. Not sure what else was available. Very cheap holiday for a good base.

You get what you pay for with these apartments. No mod cons but always clean, nice and quiet and decent sized rooms. The location is not in protaras, its a good 20-30minute walk away or 7 euro in a taxi. However there are some really nice bars and restaurants just round the corner if you fancy a more loxal night. There are several beaches near by and a little harbour just 2-3mins down the road. There is free wifi, a computer for internet use and a pool table. There is a supermarket literally 1 minute away selling fresh bread and more or less everything else you could want. I would definitely stay in debbie xenia again. I liked the quiet location and the peacefulness around the pool with the option for a heavier night not too far away!

We stayed here for one week late May 2014, bed & breakfast
Our apartment was on the ground floor and was number 3. It was very spacious and although the kettle could not be used due to the wrong plug on it (!) this didn't matter as we had a travel kettle with us anyway. I am sure they would have provided the right kettle if we'd asked. The sockets are 3-pin 13 amp but the kettle had a 2-pin plug!
The breakfast menu means there is something for everyone. Several different choices; full English, scrambled eggs on toast, Continental breakfast or boiled egg with ham, cheese, toast and jam. You get orange juice and a choice of tea and coffee with all breakfasts.
We had lunch at the hotel twice and both meals were really nice.
The pool is a good one and the whole place is spotlessly clean.
The location is ideal as it is only minutes to walk to the restaurants, tavernas and bars and a few minutes in the other direction has you at the beautiful Kalamies Beach.
There is another beach which is not much farther to walk to and the main beach at Pernera is not very far either, especially if you walk along the coast from one of the other beaches.
Lots of little coves to explore.
Lovely walk from Pernera to Protaras and although Protaras is very commercialised and busy it is a lovely resort and also has little coves. We don't usually like bustling resorts such as this but it was really nice.
If you walk the coastal path in the other direction from Pernera you soon reach a beautiful bay at Crystal Springs which has a sandy beach and springs trickle down onto it. You see lots of lizards along the coastal paths.
The bus service is excellent and buses run from 0700 to 0400!
There are enough bars and restaurants to keep you happy at the part of Pernera which is nearest to the hotel. If you fancy something busier stroll down to the main Pernera Beach area or get a taxi there.
There is a supermarket right next door to the hotel and several others close by.
The people who own / run the hotel are very nice and helpful.
This is not a luxury hotel, it's fairly basic but it gives you excellent value for money and is one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We'd definitely stay there again.
The street is quiet.
24 hour reception.
Safety deposit boxes.
You can extend your apartment till 6pm for a late flight and it costs 20 euros to do that. 20 total not per person. Very reasonable.

Room Tip: I think if you want sea views you'd need numbers in the 200s or 300s on the higher floors but we were not bothered about a sea view and the pool area is nice to look at.

If you are wanting to stay in protaras do not stay here, to go anywhere half decent you need to get a bus or taxi. The hotel is rated at 3/4 star there is no way this is. Two reception staff, one extremely rude and Un helpful made you feel like you weren't welcome. Rooms are clean but basic. Is for self catering but you wouldn't catch me using the kitchen. Protaras itself it's lovely nice restaurants and bars and Agia napia - nissi beach is also great!
Ps- no one told us about the 15 cats down the road on arrival.
I would defiantly come back to Cyprus but defiantly not Debbie Xenia
