My Partner and I returned from the Antigoni Hotel 20/06/12 very disappointed.
As soon as we arrived at the Antigoni, we could see how shabby it was on the inside, starting with the corridors, doors and the room being very outdated and tired.
I had hoped that the disappointment would stop there but unfortunately it didnt.
We first used the restaurant about 7pm which was like entering a school canteen with minimal choice for food and very strange combinations, one being hotdogs in red wine sauce and onions. Just looking at this meal made us feel sick!
Our first meal involved my Partner having an ant in his food to which he pointed this out to the Waiter who looked at it and smiled and walked away. We were shocked!
Some dripping in fat and cold when it shouldnt be.
The breakfast wasnt any better as sausages giving off a horrible flavour and cold.
I dont even know where to start with the coffee. Certainly a flavour I have never experienced.
The lunch included an omelette prepared freshly but unfortunately the frying pan was so old it required lots of oiling which resulted in many people having to mop up fat from around there plate with a napkin.
The snacks were barely non existant. Our first being a burger, but the rolls had been out for so long they were very hard and certainly not edible.
The drinks were very watered down. My partner ordered a black Russian, only to be given a pint of coke with maybe a little splash of something alcoholic in there, to which he couldnt finish so this had to be washed down the sink in the hotel loo.
As the food and drink were unbearable we spent alot of our money on eating and drinking out.
Thinking this to be a holiday with most food and drink catered for, this was not the case!
We did notice also the uneasyness of this hotel and alot of the time the atmosphere was taken over with the staff being shouted at by the Management.
I remember sitting round the bar with many silent holiday makers around me just staring at the Manager maoning at the bar staff. Not very nice at all.
I had also asked one of the very inexperienced bar staff for a coffee. I dont know what he gave me but it certainly wasnt coffee. This tasted like dirty dish water!
The only Positive for this hotel was the large lagoon pool and thats about it.
I can see that this hotel probably just gets by with the big pool and im amazed to see that it has a rating of 3star plus.
My Partner and I have stayed at the Tsokkos Beach Hotel and the Tsokkos Gardens Hotel in the last 4 years, All Incuslive and loved both of these holidays rating Tsokkos highly but we are very shocked and feel very let down by Tsokkos this year and will definately not be returning to any of there hotels in the future. In fact this has put us off All inclusive completely and will look to go self catering next year!
We dont only feel let down by Tsokkos, but First Choice too for advertising this hotel as a 3Star plus and leading people to believe this is something it isnt.
My partner and I have saved all year for this holiday which has negatives by far out weighing the positives and we feel very disappointed!
