“An alright hotel ”
Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

Stayed here in June/July 2014 with family. The hotel is in a good location by the beach but I wouldn't stay here again.
The hotels evening food is often never hot, sometimes warm but sometimes cold. Also found that if a lot of the food hadn't been eaten that night then the next night would be of a similar theme and you could tell the food had just been warmed up and put back out with slight changes to it. The snack bar is often out of snacks. Everyone around the pool was buying food outside the hotel and bringing food in because of this.
Some of the sun beds are broken which now has left people struggling to find sun beds to use, a few sun umbrellas are broken and can't be put up. The lights around the pool are never put on possibly because 2 of those are broken.
The balcony can not be used to sit out on and have a drink and chill out because there's absolutely no room for movement.
A few things in the room could be fixed like the toilet seat moving around and the sink not allowing water to go down.
We had to pay to have the fridge and safe and keep the room on which all in all cost us roughly 110 euros.
A week in to our holiday and we couldn't get the air con to work like it had been so for 3 nights we had no sleep and ended up sitting on the balcony which was cooler than our room, we had asked a few times if someone could sort it out and we just keep getting told it works fine and on the 3rd day of it not working it was eventually fixed by someone.
No atmosphere in the hotel in the evenings to make anyone want to stay and have a drink there so it was often dead there and all closed up at 11pm.
We did have a lovely holiday but we did spend it mainly away from the hotel due to all the little issues which do add up.
If all the problems I've mentioned were improved it would make it a 10 times better hotel.

great place to stay, friendly staff, clean and very comfortable, close to fig tree bay, and all shops and bars, supermarket next door, for all your sundries and provisions, stayed here first week in june 2014, with family of 8, had four rooms,3 with sea views,1 with land side room, food was out of this world,so many choices to choose from, plenty of cakes for desserts, pool area very clean and tidy, with plenty of sunbeds, will stay here again very soon, cant wait, the only flaw i found was the reception toilets on the ground floor, 1 mens cubicle had broken toilet seat, and the other had no light bulb, and no locks on the doors, womans toilet had broken taps on wash hand basin, other than that no complaints about this place, didnt find these toilets until the fourth day because they are quite hidden behind reception, would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: choose a room with sea view,

We stayed here for 2 nights in june 2014. Near to the beach is this relatively small and old fashioned hotel, but charming to stay at. The staff is very friendly and tries their best to give you a perfect stay. Room was medium sized but tidy. Nice bathroom, small balconee with view over the sea. Close to the beach and to restaurants and shops. Breakfast buffet was good with fresh orange juice.

Room Tip: Good hotel to explore the area.

I can not big this hotel up enough it is absolutely flawless in every aspect, the food is amazing the staff are helpful and welcoming, it is situated in the beautiful fig tree bay only feet away from the sea and when you don't want to travel to the beach you have a clean comfortable pool that you can sit by with friendly staff waiting to serve you at the pool. It's also only metres away from a small supermarket which is handy for any of those small things that you forget (sun cream.) I again would defiantly rate this hotel at least 5stars I can't wait to go back next year

But don't take my work for it, stay here yourself and you won't regret see you soon guys and again "ef haristow"

First visit to Cyprus in early June. Very pleased with choice of the Chrystalla Hotel. Would have given 5 stars, but there were too many irritations. These may appear minor, but due to the number they became an annoying before the end of the holiday.
First the good news: The hotel is in a very good location, overlooking Fig Tree Bay which is only a few minutes walk away, but ensure you get a sea view room ( not on ground floor ).
Hotel is very clean & all staff are friendly & helpful.
The pool is large, very clean & there was always plenty of sun beds & umbrellas.
We were half board & the evening meals were very good & varied, but breakfast was very limited & always the same for 2 weeks, although well cooked. A plus point was the supply of fresh orange juice almost every day on a DIY basis.
Free WiFi in all areas was very welcome.
The rooms are comfortable, & with free AirCon, but a little small & the outside balcony is very tiny & not much use to enjoy the lovely view.
A major irritation was that although there was a fridge in the room, this had a padlock ( a first in any hotel we have stayed) and there was a charge of 2.5 Euros per day to use. As this would have cost 35 Euros for our stay we did not use.
At the evening meal even water was charged, & at 2.5 Euros for a tiny bottle of sparkling water, this cost about 70 Euros over 2 weeks.
There were a number of notices around, banning your own food & drinks around the pool area, probably to get you to buy from the pool bar, which was expensive, limited menu & the hot (?) drinks we tried were always cold.
Everyone ignored these notices & brought there own drinks & food,
One day a new large sign appeared at the pool entrance, again trying to ban your drinks & food, but was again ignored by most people.
The Chrystalla is a lovely hotel, staffed by nice people, & many people we spoke too had visited a number of times, but sadly we will not be returning.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are essential, but avoid the ground floor

What's not to love about the Chrystalla!! We've been going to this hotel for the past 12 years now and over that time we've noticed so many changes all for the better.
All the staff are so helpful and will do anything for you.
The hotel is clean & bright. It has a fabulous pool area with pool bar, they've also now got a gym and sauna. They've also recently decorated the interior which also looks lovely.
Chrystalla is situated next to the stunning fig tree bay.
The food here is also amazing, each night they have a different menu for example - cypriot, international, Chinese, carvery, Mexican.
All in all a lovely place to stay and we can't get wait to go back next June :-)
