“Excellent!”
Reviewed 12 June 2011

My stay at the Platomare Hotel Apartments was excellent. The hotel is in a great location in close proximity to the lovely beaches, restaurants, bars and shops. There is also a reliable bus service which allows the opportunity to visit other parts of the island. The staff - in particular Florin - were brilliant; very helpful, warm and welcoming. The hotel itself is well appointed and maintained to a very high standard; my room was serviced daily and the communal facilities were very well kept too. There was a good choice of food, which was tasty and served quickly. I also recommend taking full advantage of the cocktail menu!! In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed my week at the Platomare Hotel Apartments and would recommend this hotel without hesitation!

The Platomare is surely all you can ask for in a hotel, with its large spotless rooms, beautiful pool area, lovely family members and great location right up the road from the beach and the new path which leads into Protaras. The staff were always friendly and ready to help us out. It was a great holiday and we're looking forward to going there again! You get alot more than what you pay for this place.Highly recommended!

We only had 1 week at the Platomare but could have stayed longer. We definitely have no difficulties recommending it to anyone who wants a reasonably quiet relaxing holiday. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful. There was a friendly atmosphere that we found very welcoming. The pool and grounds staff were particular in their maintenance, everything was wiped down and cleaned and the loungers, chairs and parasols arranged every evening & all spotlessly maintained. The apartment itself was adequate and had all the necessary bits for self-catering. The bathroom was a bit small. It had a shower attachment over the bath not a seperate shower, however this was only a minor inconvenience. There was air-con but we didnt use it. Our apartment was on the ground floor looking out to the pool area and quite pleasant. The rooms could probably use a redec to freshen up the place but like the pool and gardens its all spotlessly clean. Building work has just started in the next plot to the Platomare (the owner informed us the plot has lay dormant all winter and building starts now just as the holiday season kicks off!) However we were not disturbed by the builders or too much noise in the evening. I'm not looking for entertainment in the early hours I want a quiet night's sleep! If there was any entertainment at the Platomare it didnt keep me awake. The next hotel along was a bit noisy at night. We had been to Protaras 15 years ago and were surprised at how much its sprawled. Unfortunately its all a bit tacky, Blackpool with sunshine! Thankfully, the Platomare is just far enough away to be removed from the strip. For eating out try 'Blue Spice', its always a good sign when you find locals at a restaurant. Regarding the tour operator, Olympic holidays. Generally, no complaints except at the airport both going out and coming home dreaded flight delays! 2-3 hours at Cyprus due to a dispute with the fuel company over unpaid fuel! Not sure if thats believable or accurate but thats what the rep passed on to us after 2 hours in the departure lounge. Even in times of financial austerity this could have been resolved better.

protras was a really nice suprise, lovely beaches and great tavernas/bars and people

The hotel was in a good position, not too near the main drag but only a ten minute walk along a new beach front walkway, pool area was great and even though it was the middle of May it was still reasonably quiet (?season not started properly) weather was glorious even a bit too hot at times but always with a cooling breeze, would highley recommend it for a relaxing holiday

spoke highly of not only the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, lounge and bar area and also, and very importantly, the kindness and warmth of Terry, Jean Catherine and every member of their staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Result - a lovely setting and a superb holiday. Thanks everyone and hope to see you next year'.
And we agree! a thouroughly great place, location and holiday, we woudl be more than happy to return. Thank you

Just back from a great 10 day break (honeymoon) at Platomare Hotel Apts, Cyprus and we both really enjoyed our stay (wish we'd booked 2 wks). The apartment was bright, airy, a tad basic yes but spotlessly clean and excellent value. The management had even left us a welcome note with a bottle of bubbly to mark our nuptials. Really nice touch.

We're in our mid 30s and loved the hotels location, the staff (incredibly positive, friendly and helpful) and its surroundings. The recently completed coastal walkway (just 50 meters from the hotel) really is a great wayof seeing neighbouring beaches/resorts - none more than 20 mins (enjoyable) walk away with lovely coastline to take in on route.

We managed to get a hire car at a good rate and had lots of days out exploring the island - so much so that we didn't even use the hotels pool, but I can vouch for what others have said in it being spotlessly clean, well looked after and there being loads of sun loungers. We got a great apartment overlooking it.

Our transfer bus took us to lots of other hotels locally (2, 3 & 4 star) in the process of dropping off & picking up and we agreed we wouldn't have swapped any of them for what we had in Platomare. We're really grateful for the effort the staff put into ensuring we had the best time possible - Thank you and we'll see you again.

Well what can i say apart from one word FANTASTIC.

This hotel is in the perfect location for everyones needs. Whether you want to party hard in Ayia Napa (10 minute taxi ride for 15 euro), walk along the sea front with restaurants around (500 metres away) or walk into Protaras (20 minute walk) where there is some fantastic places to eat and a number of bars to sit and relax with a few cocktails.

I travelled with a group of friends, we are all in our mid 20's and we all agree that the whole set up of our hotel and holiday couldn't of actually been any better for what we paid for.

The hotel itself is family run and upon arrival they couldnt of been more welcoming, There was no problems with language and checking in was a pain free excercise. The room that we had was a one bed apartment and was perfect for our needs. The bedroom had 2 single beds and the living area had a possibilty of sleeping 2 other people. The rooms were cleaned everyday between the times of 9am and 11am. The maids were friendly and if you didnt answer your door or said that you didnt want it cleaned today the maid would leave you some fresh towells, more toilet roll and then move onto the next room.

There was a kitchenette too with with all kitchen utensils for self catrering needs and a dining table as well so if you did make your own food you didnt have to rest it on your lap.

Talking of food, there was no need to cook your own. The bar had a full menu where you could have anything from an English breakfast costing on 2.85 euros to a chicken curry with rice and chips for under 7 euros. Food was served from 8am until 11pm and we never had one bad meal.

Activities in the hotel.

There is a swimming pool which was clean and a baby pool too there were sunbeds located all around the pool aswell. There was also a tennis court and a full size volleyball court. So if you are the sporty type who gets bored of lazing around the pool all day and you couldnt be bothered to walk into town there was something always to do. Inside there was a pool table, a computer with internet access and a few arcade games that were around probably before you and I were born.

There was a small charge these (not the sun beds or pool) but you would pay more for parking your car in your local shopping centre.

The reception was manned 24/7 as well and if you wanted a safe the cost of it was 8 euro for the week and you kept hold of the key. The safe was located in reception.

To sum it all up if you want a cheap but very friendly stay then Platomare is the place to go. Very friendly, very reasonably priced and all in all a 10 out of 10 holiday.

I personally dont want to go back to somewhere i have already been but if i were ever to go back to that area of the island then this would be my first choice of where i would stay .
