Just returned back from a wonderful 2 weeks stay at Platomare. Once again welcomed with the upmost friendliness from all members of staff. Myself and my partner are 30 years of age and if you are looking for a relaxing holiday look no further. Around 100metres you are at the sea front which has an amazing walk way to both Pernera and also into the busy stip of Protoras. Pernera has a nice selection of bars and restaurant fantastic for families or if you want the busy stip of Protoras which many bars, restaurants, shops then a 15 minute strole along the picturesque sea front is all it takes. Many beach cafes on the front also or you can eat at Platomare itself and the food very reasonable and tasty. Hotel is very clean, fresh towels and linen given on a regular basis and the swimming pool is also cleaned daily and is kept to perfection. There is a bus within 10 mins walk which can take you to Ayia Napa if you wish for 1.50euro and or into Protoras for the same price. Takes 25 mins on bus to Ayia Napa or 5 mins into Protoras. If you want to sunbathe around the pool very comfortable beds and more than plenty for all guests and then in the afternoon there is happy hour from 4-8 daily. Pint of beer 2.10euro and cocktail around 2.50euro. There is plenty to do around the hotel so dont be put off that there is no set entertainment programme at the hotel - you can either make your own and plenty of guests stay and have drinks at the hotel as such a pleasant setting ( you can see sea from the bar terrace area ) as well as a lot of the bedrooms so never short of making friends. A great deal of guests return year on year which shows how good of a hotel the Platomare is. Helen Bailey

Would just like to say that we stayed for 2 weeks at the end of the season last year and watched all the deep cleaning being done around us for the winter. All the sunbeds were jet hosed and cleaned with a brush before being stored away. The chairs from the rooms and communial areas were shampooed and dried in the sun before being put away.the maids then gave all the other stuff a good clean and stacked all furniture in the middle of each apartment to reduce any chance of damp pervading during the winter months. There was refreshing of paintwork then and during the season when guests had squashed mossies etc and not cleaned the debris from the walls.I also know the owners were there a good month before the apartments were opened for the season sorting all this stuff out again. The apartments are dated but as the saying goes "if it ain't broke don't fix it",they are certainly better than a lot of places i have stayed in other parts of Cyprus and Greece. Also remember Olympic holidays do pay these people a pittance to rent the accommodation from them and have even cut their season by a month this year.Who goes on holiday to sit in the apartment anyway,we have breakfast and lunch in it and eat out most evenings. On the other side of the coin we have cooked spaghetti bolognese and chilli easily on the two rings. We did not experience any problems with cold water for showering and the weather wasn't the best inc thunderstorms and cold winds a couple of evenings. This may have been the case recently as i have friends there at the moment and the weather has been very changeable, inc rain several times.I agree block B can look dark sometimes when not sunny outside. The staff and owners make this place and that is why there is a high number of returning guests.I hope this addresses some of your concerns as literally we were the last guests to depart and they turned the lights off after we left.lol.

Stayed here recently, the first thing I would like to say is that the staff there are so friendly and welcoming. They were an absolute joy! Great friendly atmosphere around the pool and among the other guests.

The hotel itself is set in the 70's lots of pine but adds to the charm.

The rooms really are very basic, and the self catering facilities are poor. Just a couple of rings that have nt been cleaned properly and an extractor fan over the sink? Odd.

The sofa beds look like they have been there since the 70's and were caked in years of sun cream and sweat, smelt awful.

You could only get hot water between 3-6ish so plan your showers around then as you have no chance in the evening or morning.

Generally b block was dark and smelt like an old school.

Maids were excellent at keeping the rooms tidy.

Food at the bar was very good and well priced.

Pool area was nice but not a lot of room.

Overall we had a nice time and the hotel does grows on you.

Good location.

Spot customer service will keep this hotel going for years to come, if they could improve the finish of the rooms (lick of paint here and there) and give it a proper deep clean, then I would definitely come back.

just returned from a weeks holiday at the platomare apartments in pernera ,protaras Cyprus june 2014.we stayed at the platomare hotel apartments.me and .my husband .we last visited this area 10 years ago in September with our children and stayed before in this area and enjoyed it.ever since we have gone to the polis/latchi area so this year for our 35 years aniversary we thought it would be nice to go back and see how it was after all this time. we were really surprised it was so nice and modern lovely walks all along the sea front from pernera up to fig tree bay where as before you had to walk along the main road to get there and this was quicker and really relaxing walking along by the sea .there are many places to eat and drink along the walkway Zafeiros was a really nice place to eat and drink along the walkway had breakfast (full English and a nice three course meal and drinks was lovely..The platomare hotel apartments were very friendly and welcomeing ,clean(cleaners in every day ), spacious, very good priced for the bar and food .swimming pool attended to everyday also.stacey the Olympic rep was very helpfull very nice young lady.Nice area to sit and have a drink in the sunshine. places to eat would recommend are Zafeiros along walkway, The steak and ale restaurant in pernera and polyxenia restaurant on the sea front of pernera all very good food and reasonable prices. The polyxenia restaurant also has a café and bar there with swimming pool and childrens too .we have been there before when we last visited is an exceptional area different to 10 years ago you can have sunloungers on the grass overlooking the sea it costs for 2 loungers and a umberella £9 euros for the 3 ,they give you vouchers for the 9 euros and you can use these at the bar towards food and drinks so doesn't really cost you anything.,and there are lots of them.wish we could afford to go again sepember t be nice.We cant wait till hopefully return next year.

Room Tip: all rooms good and spacious .

Hi again, we did it!!!
We don't usually visit the same hotel twice as there are so many to visit in the world BUT Platomare has won our hearts, it was so good to go back, I really felt like I was visiting an old friend even though we've only been there once before.
We had another brilliant week in Cyprus and the hospitality was great, with all members of the team, new and old making us feel so welcome throughout our stay. Even when the cocktails were flowing and we treated our fellow guests to a front seat view of our pool party on Friday!!
Last year we had a lovely cool room at the back of block B, this year we had a pool/sea view room in the same block which was amazing.
Thank you all and you know what, we will probably return again soon.

Room Tip: all rooms are good, if you want sun pool/sea view is best but for a nice cool room stay at the back...

I've been to the Plato a few times now with my family. All I can say is anyone who goes will NOT be disappointed. The location is perfect, the amenities will suit all and most of all the staff make you feel special(especially my mate jean at reception"wink wink") I've been to some fantastic places in the world but yet to find a place that cleans your room everyday "we'll they do at the Plato". The place is spotless and we'll looked after. Overall if you want a relaxing week then here is perfect. A great place for food is the beach bar zaferois nearby plus remember the HAPPY HOUR is 4-8 everyday and is great value. Again a big thanks to Catherine and all her staff for looking after us and see you next year. Finally a big hello to all the people we met in our 2 weeks, jack is missing you all plus his mate the barman who was great with him.

Room Tip: A block gets the sun on the front at evenings(pool/sea view) b block gets the sun in the mornings...

My fiance and her mum and dad stayed here for a week's break. We both had rooms overlooking the pool. I have say that the value for money is excellent. The rooms were clean and well suited to a relaxing family holiday.

The rooms were services every day (beds made, bins emptied) with linen and towels changed mid-week. The pool and grounds are well maintained. The cooked breakfast is excellent value at E3.25. Catherine and her staff are very helpful and friendly. The shower could be a little more powerful and there is currently no Wi-Fi (but we were told is coming soon).

It's a very good location being near the sea, a small sandy beach and a walkway that takes you in both directions along the edge of the sea with lovely views to many tavernas and shops.

Overall, would recommend and would like to return one day.
